What is the best GoPro mount for running?
Hi, I am running the LA marathon this next weekend, and I have the SJCAM sj4000 which is a pretty good gopro alternative that uses all the same attachments as the original device. I am looking into recording the run for memories. And I was looking at some footage and that a headstrap would be best, but I would like something comfortable like a shoulder or chest strap?.In your opinions and experiences, which would be the best out of all three? I think the drift has the best optics but not much value. It may be pretty good but not for the price I think the gopro is too complicated(I just want to hit 1button without taking off my gloves) and too conspicuous & just plain ugly I love the ability to control the contour + with a droid phone but the cost is high I have no use for the gps model and hate that it doesn't have action 700hd. I just manually insert GPS location with contour storyteller The roam also doesn't have the 60fps option and the built-in battery has a nice lifespan between charges but I prefer just carrying an extra battery My favourite is an older model contour 1080hd mostly because they'll cheap if you can find one. They have actionHD which let's you add cool slow motion edits. With one spare battery you can film for a full 8hrs, the new ones with built in batteries need to be recharged every 5-6hrs depending on the temp.

Where is the best place to mount a camera on a car?
Before mounting a camera to the windscreen or rear-view mirror, but sure to double-check with local laws. For instance, in California you cannot mount anything to your windshield under the justification that this blocks some of the driver's view.Another concern that you do not mention, is the main subject of your shot. Are you attempting to capture the driver and passenger as they talk and drive? Are you trying to get a forward view of the upcoming terrain? Are you mimicing the POV of the driver (with dash and car hood in the view) or the POV of the car, with nothing in view but the road.Depending on the choices you have made, the list of places to mount then becomes rather short. For instance for car POV, you can really only mount to the hood or the front bumper of the car and you should choose the mount that works best for your equipment.Note, about debris: many streets are swept. There is little cause for concern that a piece of debris is going to hit your camera unless you are on a dirt road. Windscreens and car paint jobs manage okay; I think your camera can take an little exterior ride without getting ruined. But if you are using a Red or other expensive gear, you can always hire a street sweeper to clean the road before you start working.

Renting a GoPro for Snowboarding? I'm looking to RENT a GoPro camera for snowboarding. I'm most likely going to go with the HD Hero 3 Black edition, but I'm wondering what websites to use for about 2 or 3 weeks and have them be reliable and good for the cost (under 120 dollars, preferably). I also need to know which mounts are necessary and are they included or to be rented separately? In this day and age it is hard to see a ski film that doesn't have some sort of POV footage.
