Movies/ Poems With Inequality Symbols

What do birds symbolize?

Well, the first thing that comes to mind is freedom, since flight is seen as liberating, and the air and sky are seen as pure. Music and voice is another that I can think of, especially songbirds.More specifically, doves and pigeons are often used as a symbol of peace. The bald eagle is an icon of the US of A. The golden eagle is sometimes used to represent Germany. Other countries also have national birds, but these are the ones that come to mind. Eagles in general represent glory, might, and power.Peacocks represent vanity, pettiness, or India (which is on no way related to the two former terms). They also represent beauty and wealth. For my good old state of California, the California quail is the state bird. The logo of the UC Davis Fish and Wildlife Department is a Yellow-billed magpie, a species found only in a small range in the Central Valley, where I live (I’ve seen several).Phoenixes and thunderbirds, while mythical, both represent forms of power and rebirth.Owls represent wisdom in Greek culture, and ibises do to same in Egyptian culture. While on the topic of Egypt, the falcon was the symbol of Horus, god of healing.Crows and ravens are associated with darkness, night, witchcraft, Halloween, and intelligence. The 22 California condors from which the population is being rebuilt represent hope for endangered species, at least for me, while Martha, the last passenger pigeon, who died years ago, represent the danger and fragility of the ecosystem and how careful humans must be (at least, that’s what she means to me).In the Hunger Games trilogy, the fictional Mockingjay represents the rebellion of the districts against the Capitol, as well as Katniss herself.Chickens and ducks often represent humor, for examples, surf the Internet.Finches (specifically, the ones on the Galápagos Islands) are notable for being the animals that Darwin observed natural selection in.Hummingbirds represent magic, and the power of the small, as can be seen in several Native American legends (or at least, those cool creation stories that authority figures say are Native American legends. I really have no way of confirming their validity). Actually, lots of indigenous Americans (both North and South) have birds in their legends representing magic, creation, or gods (again, I don’t have any actual insurance that all the stuff I heard in elementary school that was sold as a historical legend has any credibility). Finally, the ostrich:

Politics of India: What is the meaning of the phrase "tryst with destiny"?

The story behind Nehru’s “Tryst with destiny” speech:On Aug-14, 1947, Nehru had planned for some time off to write a speech which was to be delivered at the stroke of midnight. But his day was filled with hundreds of rituals and at 10 pm he was forcefully pulled out of the process by his family with dinner as the excuse. As he sat down to have dinner, he got a phone call from Lahore which lasted for half an hour. The conversation was about the disturbances going on in Lahore which had stunned Nehru and making him feel like sinking in a bottomless pit (Riots due to partition. We shall find out more about partition in subsequent entries of this album). Now he neither had the time nor the energy to write a speech. However, he managed to console himself by midnight and ended up delivering one of the best speeches ever. The words were spontaneous, the phrases were heartfelt & his zeal spread to every corner of the hall.It is a matter of pride for us that such a speech by the first PM of India which was spontaneous and had struck a chord with millions around the world was recently recognized as one of the greatest speeches of 20th century in the world (11th greatest).

What are some good books or movies about feministic utopias?

One of Marion Zimmer Bradley’s lesser-known novels, THE RUINS OF ISIS, features a female-dominated planet. The society it portrays has many desirable features and is very peaceful. It’s not perfect (men are regarded as inferiors to be protected, their weaknesses indulged in), but it’s much closer to a utopia than a dystopia.

What are really good books for an 18 year old to read?

I love Meg Cabot (Heather Wells [upcoming movie]& Queen of Babble [upcoming movie], and tons of others), Sophie Kinsella's (AKA: Madeleine Wickham) (Shopaholic [movie based on her books] & Remember Me), Jennifer Weiner (Good in Bed & Certain Girls), Jane Green (Mr. Maybe) Emily Giffin (Something Borrowed & Something Blue), Lauren Weisberger (Devil Wears Prada, Chasing Harry Winston), and Candance Bushnell (Sex and the City) books. They are all great authors!

For a young adult/teen Meg Cabot's young adult books. She is the best author. Also best selling. She wrote tons of books including the Princess Diaries (Movies based on her books), Mediator (upcoming movie), 1-800-Missing (TV show based on her books), All-American Girl (up coming movie), Jinx, Airhead and more. She has adult books too, so you can grow with her.
