Movie/tv Series Translator Career Advice

I’m 14 and i want to be an actress need advice please?

hi i’m 14 and i know i have some time to think about what i’m going to be. i just have this huge feeling that i want to be an actress really bad and think i actually could be an actress. my plan was to go to college and get a bachelors degree incase an actress isn’t what i turn out to be. but i would move to la and get a part time job so i can pay rent at an apartment and look for acting parts. the only problem is i’m kinda shy but when i’m around people i’m comfortable with i’m very loud. i would like some advice on if i should be one or not and some advice on how to start off and stuff (i do not have any acting experience but i’m think to myself that it shouldn’t be hard and i can be serious when i’m actually on a set) also i know that like only 1 percent make it and stuff.

As a translator student, what should I do during the summer to get better?

Some good answers already. Another way would be to do your own voice-overs for any footage or series of movie that you enjoy. It would be a great way to look at the other language in a more practical way, as you’d need to make it sound true to life and idiomatic. Many good translators (certified translators, people with degrees, etc.) are fantastic at formal, written translations and translations of official documents and dissertations, but lack creativity when trying to convey a specific tone or underlying nuance or humour. So during your summer break, you can hone these skills and have fun doing it.

What are some good TV shows or movies to watch for a foreigner who is learning Turkish as a second language?

thanks for A2AI have not watched any Turkish TV programms for two years. Therefore, I do not have almost any information regarding current TV shows/series. Moreover, I would recommend you to watch TV Series or movies that has a subtitle from Turkish to your mother tongue. You can watch kiralik ask, poyraz karayel or yaprak dökümü and as a movie mucize .One further advice is to stay away from Turkish comedy programms or battle movies. Because turkish slang is hard to understand for foreigners unless one did not reach a high level in Turkish. Moreover, in war movies you will find some old Turkish vocabs which we do not use anymore.here is a list of Turkish TV series: IMDb: En iyi türk dizileri/best Turkish TV Series - a list by selenselenyou can check out this webside: Adım Adım Türkçe Öğreniyorum-Videolar

What are some good Dutch movies/TV shows for someone learning Dutch?

Always begin with children's programming. The language is designed to be simple and easy to understand.Watch reclame's/advertisements. They are designed for easy and immediate comprehension. And for TV show, I'd recommend "Kinderen Geen Bezwaar."I never had a problem understanding this Dutch version of the Brady Bunch. For advanced learning, I would try "Commissaris Witse." This program is Belgian, and is in Flemish. But, once your Dutch is improved, you should be able to understand ±95% of what you hear, aside from occasional "Flanderisms."I'm doubly grateful to Philip Newton and Anshuman Bhattacharjee for the A2A.

If you had to split Quora into 15 main topics, what would they be?

1. Survey Questions - Anything that involves your own personal opinion or is about yourself.“How much sleep do you get each night?”“What have you accomplished so far in your life?”2. Hypotheticals - All the, ummm, hypothetical questions. Hypotheticals that don’t involve yourself.“If Trump was assassinated, how would the world change?”“What would happen if the internet shut down permanently?”3. Hypothetical Survey Questions - Combination of 2 & 5. Personalized hypotheticals; fake survey questions. AND LOOPHOLES!!! DON’T FORGET LOOPHOLES!!!Typically questions starting with an “If you…”.“If you had to split Quora into 15 main topics what would they be?”“You wake up in a locked refrigerator with a hunk of cheese, a bag of milk, and a bottle of ketchup, how do you escape?”4. History - Duhhh… history. Probably time travel too.5. Science - Covers chemistry, physics, maths, and anything ending in “-ology”.6. Homework Q’s - Multiple choice, true or false, and typically only one correct answer questions7. Real World Questions - Pretty much the entire “real life” part to Quora. Quora Questions - Questions about Quora, or questions targeted to any specific Quora user(s)“How do you pronounce User-9985553433087092905’s last name?”13. Miscellaneous - Obviously there needs to be a category for questions that don’t fit any of the above. You will then realize what categories need to be added or restructured.
