I have lost my B.Com degree certificate (Mumbai University), what is the procedure for applying for a duplicate?

That's terrible news. You're meddling with MU here, that's notorious for its lackadaisical approach.I had a brief experience with MU in 2017 for getting a marksheet updated. Needless to say, the experience was downright frustrating. Before approaching the university I would recommend approaching your college. Some colleges have dedicated staff to look into such student matters. Your college will guide you further. If the college is unable to help you out, I think you'll need to approach the university campus at Kalina and ask around for the Examination Department. It's a lone building that's around 10 minutes away on foot, from the main entrance. You'll need to fill out a small form at the entrance of the building, entailing the purpose of your visit, and then you'll be let in. Make sure you've got a written application ready with you before you leave for MU. You'll need to submit this application with supporting documents like your hall ticket photocopies, all semester photocopies, photocopies of degree certificate, provisional certificate and whatever they ask for. This submission, along with the written application needs to be done on a ground floor office inside the building. It takes forever for your application to reach the relevant department upstairs.Prepare yourself for multiple visits, truckloads of frustration, chase-ups (especially if you need it urgently) and a couple of months at least to obtain the document in concern. These are my opinions, based solely on my brief run-in with MU for obtaining relevant documents. The process might have changed a bit (unlikely), but this is how I went about getting my task done. You should have a better idea once you're at the Kalina campus. All you need to do there is ask, grovel and beg. Just kidding! All the best!Hope this helps! :)

Is passing certificate and convocation certificate same of Mumbai university?

Thanks for the A2A.The passing certificate in the context of applying to foreign Universities and WES ( for immigration & higher studies) is the convocation certificate.Mumbai University does issue a small certificate along with the final year marksheet for every degree which is called passing certificate. However, that small certificate is not sufficient in itself while applying for WES ECA or universities abroad. You have to send attested photocopy of convocation certificate.Hope this answers your question.

Can I get a duplicate marksheet and degree passing certificate from the University of Mumbai? If yes, what is the procedure? Which documents are required?

Submit a letter to your college administrator stating you have lost your original marksheet. They may ask you to get a police complaint copy of the same. There's also some amount approx 150rs to be paid. Your college administration will do the rest for you…theres no need to go to the university.
