My left side of my neck hurts when I press a little, what does this mean?

There are a myriad of possible causes behind your symptom. You should go see a healthcare professional for a proper clinical assessment. When you have an orthopaedic, neurological and radiological assessment done by a Chiropractor or Medical practitioner then you will have a better understanding of what your symptoms are trying to tell you and how best to handle the issue.Much health and happiness to you.

The muscle in my neck hurts a lot and I can't turn my head to the left, what is the problem or what can I do

Yesterday morning I woke up at 6am with a terrible pain on the left side of my neck, I could barely get out of bed without it hurting! Now I can't look up or turn my head to the left without the pain stopping me in my tracks. What do you think it is? I think it's because I started weight lifting again (the same thing happened 2 years ago) and the muscles are tense and stuff. My mother thinks that it's because I'm on the computer all the time and it's messing up my neck so I've been off the computer except for now to ask this question. Do you know of anything I can do to help my neck relax and feel better or do I just have to wait it out?

Unfortunately, I can't go see a doctor because I don't have health insurance and that visit would be well over $90, which I don't have at the moment. D: Any help would be appreciated.

The back of my neck hurts on the right side.?

The muscles in your neck have tightened up especially on the right side. When you sleep and have your head in that one position all night allows it to kind of freeze in that spot so it becomes harder and more painful to move your neck in the morning. To get rid of the pain you have to release your neck muscles and here's how to do that:
Neck
Put your hands alongside your head so your thumbs are on the front of the muscle under your ear and your fingers are on the back of the muscle behind your head. Squeeze your thumb and fingers together and hold. Relax your body. When your fingers and thumb touch, about two minutes, slowly lower your head as far as you can, release the pressure but hold your neck lowered for another 30 seconds.
For best results relax your body first by taking a deep breath and exhaling then remain this relaxed.

What can I do if the left side of my neck hurts?

I did have that for a long time actually. It kind of depends if it is temporary and where it originates.Should it come from within your bone/spine structure, you should simply go and see a doctor, they will help you with further steps. You will notice it is part of your spine if it feels less like your muscles or tissues hurt, but more like something solid blocks the movements of your neck in a certain direction.  If, on the other hand, it feels more like a overstreched muscle or tissue, meaning similar to what happens when you have sore muscles or strechted your arm to far, then you can fix it on the go. Just let your head relax and drop forward, until your chin is tucked to your chest, while standing with your feet shoulder width apart. Then begin to slowly (I am talking really slowly and carefully) loll your head to the side, until it touches your shoulder. Go no further than that. Then roll it slowly back to the middle and on to the other side. Repeat that about 10 times each side, and you should feel your neck relax. When you bring your head back up, do it out of the relaxed position in the center of your chest. That way you avoid stretching your neck asymmetrically. There is a common third issue, that is less likely to be the cause in your case, since you seem to only experience pain on one side of your neck. That would be posture related pain. Check how you look at your smartphone, computer, book, tablet or whatever. Do you crane your neck and look downwards all the time? If you do so, you should fix that and try to keep your head straight. I see too many people with their heads on their chins looking at their phones complaining about back pain later. But your issue does not sound that way.Hope that helps,Ψ

What causes pain in the left side of the neck when swallowing?

Many things can be responsible. If the pain on swallowing started suddenly, it usually is a swollen lymph node due to a common cold virus. On the other hand, strep throat and other more serious “sore throats” can be lurking. Other much less common causes can be a soft tissue abscess, periodontal infection, or just about any infection involving the oral cavity. Of course, a throat cancer or a lymphoma may be responsible. Do you have any other symptoms, like fever, stiff neck, fatigue, lack of appetite, difficulty swallowing solid food?My best advice is to see if either other symptoms appear in a few days, or if it doesn’t clear, consult your provider.

What are causes of one side of the neck being harder and more stiff than the other side? And what should I do about it?

What is causing my sore mid back, and bulging muscle on the left side of my back?

I have the same problem as well. And it lasted for years.
This is what my doctor said about mine:

The use of computer for long hours caused my arms to be in one position and so, caused blood clots. The pains did not show on the hand except some tightness on the palm so i never thought it was because of the hands. The lymph lodes along the sides of my chest were also affected and because i tend to lean toward the right more, the right side of my middle back swell up. The pain has a burning, numbing sensation and sometimes even cramp.

The doctor gave me muscle relaxant but that would only help as long as they lasted and then due to uses of computer, the pain would start all over again. So now what I would do is either go for a massage as often as possible or to use massage oil or some kind of pain relief cream to rub the hands and arms.

I also found out that there are evidence of blood clotting and you can check to see if it is that.
1) if you rub down the arms on all sides, or slide a firm hand/fingers along the arms, and feel lumps on the flesh which is painful when you press on it, there is a clot.

2) If you press or rub the stop, you may develop a bruise the following day (esp ladies) - that is because the clot had dispersed.

3) if you only get relief of the pain after you rubbed on the spot, it means it's a clot.

4) cardio exercises help get rid of such clots because it opens more passage for blood to travel in and also smooth out the clots. Weights creates more clots after unless you stretch.

I hope that helps.

Tense neck muscle when i yawn?

I think you are talking about the short cramp like thing happening. It's not really abnormal. just do some exercise like moving your head around and all every morning. And, eat your vegetables. It's no biggie unless it keeps getting worse everyday.

The left side of my throat, neck and ear hurts?

Sore throat/ear infection, possibly getting into a touch of pharyngitis (infection of the oropharynx or back of the mouth). Do warm saltwater gargles every 30 minutes, drink lots of water and sports drinks to keep your electrolytes up. Take Ibuprofen or Aleve as needed for the pain and give it time. If the pain doesn't go down within a couple of days or your throat or ears start to feel much worse, go see the doctor right away as you may need to be put on antibiotics.
