Should I read self-help books?
DEFINITELY!You should read self-help book if you want to understand more about how to improve yourself and your life to become more successful.But just reading self-help book won’t work. In fact many people read self-help books but still live a miserable and negative life.Only if you read it in a certain way then you can get maximum benefit out of reading self-help books.How to read Inspirational/Self-Help/Personal Development Books for maximum benefit?Don’t just read too many books one after another. If you read too many books one after another then you will gain nothing and later start hating these books. Many people fall into this zone.Always remember these Self-Help/Inspirational books are manuals of life. Read these manuals and apply them in your life. Then you will see the transformation.Once you feel that you have understood the concept of one book and using it to a great extent, then jump into another book.This way you many not read too many books in less time but your life will change very fast.Even only one book can change our life if we apply its principle correctly and consistently.These are the points no one talks about.I have changed my life reading many books and now I conduct workshops for people and this is the first thing I teach them and make them follow the same.Go ahead pick any book that fascinates you and makes it your mentor, guide and coach and you will get amazed with the result.Thank You.
What should I read in the Bible when I need guidance?
When I need comfort, I usually go to the Psalms. Psalm 91, 121, 103, 134 and 23 mainly. Proverbs is excellent when you need wisdom. But all are good.For regular reading, if one hasn't done much reading in the bible, I would suggest starting at the beginning of the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), reading John first, and then the other three. It tells 3 different vantage points of a couple of the disciples that actually walked with Jesus, and one (Luke) that wrote it in an historical way. Fascinating! After that, comes what happened in the early church shortly after Jesus went back to heaven (Acts of the Apostles), and then letters written by several of the Apostles years later, plus others who learned from the Apostles, recounting their experience and encouraging others. This would include the "latest apostle" named Paul (who used to severely fight against the New Way, but came to know Jesus one day on the road to Damascus to kill the Christians).You might want to steer clear of the Revelation for now, until after you get grounded more deeply into understanding the life of Christ. Hard to understand. There are MANY things throughout the New Testament (especially, I find, gospel of John) that are comforting, enlightening, encouraging, and to think about, as Jesus reveals to them all that He is, even to today. I think you should go to another police station besides the one you been to. If you go to other ones Im sure one of them would handle it and care. If you dont want to go to a lot of dont know which one to go to just go to the one in the capital, Im sure they can help. Your friend should say with you and your mom and tell your mom about it. One adult to help you guys win the battle is more then you think. Also file a complaint about the cop and turn in the recording. Makee sure you make serval cops of the recording just incase. Also it isnt illegal what the parents are doing is illegal. I feel sorry for your friend. Just talk to adults even if its personal, it isnt that bad, its worst if you dont try to get help. Best Luck!

That all depends on what you're trying to accomplish. If you need to learn the job search process, read about job searches and resume/CV writing.If you want to learn a particular skill, such as a software package or programming language, read that, especially if you have access to that software to practice.If you're earning money for the first time, or managing it on your own for the first time, books on money management and personal finance would be a timely read.
