What does mute mean on youtube?
I noticed that it said I can mute someone from commenting to me on youtube (not my channel or video). I basically stated my opinion (nothing bad though, just what I thought) and now this other person keeps following me around and harassing me everyday. I just posted one comment. If I mute this person can they still follow me around and comment to my post? Thanks.

Recently, when I'm watching videos on youtube, the audio will suddenly become silent. I go to other videos, but they're silent too. Even the ads are silent. I check to see if my computer is mute, but it's not because the sound is still working in other tabs or windows. The volume isn't low on my computer or on the videos. The sound just completely goes away. Why does this happen and how do I fix it?
If I delete my original YouTube comment, will the replies remain or get deleted too?
I watched a YouTube video, then commented. No biggie. But then dozens of people began an argument about something totally unrelated & it s just annoying. Do NOT tell me to just mute my notifications, I ve already done that. I m asking if I were to delete my original comment, would all of the replies from others still remain? Or would me deleting the original comment delete the entire thread?

Isn't it obvious? Apple trolling is one of the biggest pastimes of the current times. Having a flame war start up on their YouTube page - one which would obviously, given the very nature of the internet and YouTube comments in particular, which make anonymously degrading something a cakewalk, result in their own defamation/ insult/ ridicule - is not a situation any company would like to find themselves in, least of all Apple, which has over time, accumulated quite a few haters.I mean, look at this very post. This person called "Chan Yun" has already commented that this is because Apple wants to control everything their users do.Here's a screengrab of it, in case it gets downvoted or deleted.If one random discussion on a comparatively lesser known social network specifically aiming for intelligent answers can draw trolls, imagine the situation at YouTube, with many, many more trolls (in my experience) and with a larger userbase.

The pattern I have found with Ellen's comment sections is that comments are blocked when there are children or other random guests that she invites on her show. Segments with just Ellen (such as her monologue) and celebrities (interviews and games) usually have the comment section open - this discourages people from hating on young kids and other people who are not celebrities.
