My Boyfriends Mom Called Me Chicle. Would You Be Offended

What should I do? My boyfriend is angry at me because I refused sex with him and he won't reply to my text?

Depends on how often you’ve refused him and if he spent time etc. to try and get you in the mood!Being refused is a blow to your selfesteem and having it happen often destroys you (it makes you question the relationship and makes you ask if the other person still loves you!)…women often enough sadly don’t get that because sex isn’t important to most women, for them a sexless relationship (as long as there’s cuddling, small gifts etc.) is ok and they see nothing wrong with it and even call you a pig (insert other insulting terms for men here!) for constantly wanting sex! Hell, many get offended if you suggest there might be something wrong with them and they should get it checked out!ps: If you did it often then I’d stop speaking to you as well if I am in your BF’s shoes! Hell, I might break up with you outrigt and I might do it via a text-message so that you can’t call me insulting terms to my face!

My boyfriends mom called me chicle. Would you be offended?

i think you are over reacting. i don't even see in what context she would call you "gum?" at any rate, why don't you ask her to her face and see what she meant by calling you that? the only way that i could see it as an offense, would be if you're always hanging or sticking around her house or her son. if she used the word "chicle," in this context, then yeah, you should be offended.

How common is for Spanish speaking ladies to call their man "El Gordo"?

I can speak for Argentina, but I guess this also applies to many other countries. Here, we don’t have that much serious issues regarding race relations as compared to the U.S or other countries. We don’t obsess with political correctness and there are words deemed as racists or with a hard hitting meaning in other places that are innocent here.In Argentina, we put nicknames to everyone. This is not to offend anyone, it’s just a way to demonstrate that we have some affinity or familiarity to someone, and puting nicknames (even if they are funny or sligthly ridiculous) is an innocent way to say that you are one of us, and we can joke about it.The most common nicknames are those who reflect your image at first sight. If you are overweight, you’ll be “El Gordo” (the fat one), if you have a big head, you’ll be “El cabezón” (big head) and so on.The same goes for skin color. If you are sligtly dark skinned(there are no Africans here), you’ll be “El Negro” (the black one).this one is very common and it’s actually very affectionate, just like “Negrito” (little black), Gordito (little fat), etc. They are all quite common between spouses. Women who call their husbands “Negro” or “Negrito”. These words don’t have the negative charge that may carry in the U.S, for example. That doesn’t mean that these words cannot ne used in a harsh or racist way, but the difference is in the context, the tone and the people involved.

Is this spanish slang offensive, or endearing?

My boyfriend is from el salvador.
I speak spanish, but obviously I don't understand a lot about slang or culture.

When my boyfriend is talking on the phone to friends when he's with me, he never says "estoy con mi novia".

He refers to me as "la vieja"

Ok, I know that vieja means old. But we're a young couple. I'm 18, he's 22.

He doesn't think that I'm able to understand when he's talking.

Is that offensive, or derrogatory like "im with the woman."?

Please explain!

Picking up girls in Hungary?

Hey guys, I'm an 18 year old living in the USA, and will be visiting Hungary late summer/early fall(will be 19 then), and my question is, how hard will it be for me to pick up Hungarian women? I'm 6'1 fair skinned but pretty muscular with brown hair and brown eyes. I'm not necessarily looking to "date" but won't mind going on one every so often, just looking for some fun! How are Hungarian woman like? What do they look for in a guy? Also, I'm Hungarian in German, but born in the USA, I don't know if thats an advantage or disadvantage. Any tips would be great!
