My Cat Keeps Throwing Up And He Has The Runs

My cat keeps throwing up?

Some cats have sensitive stomaches and will throw up more than normal. That said, this sounds like it's new and sudden which could indicate a problem. Have you changed her food or the way you feed her lately? Has anything changed in her life (new animals, babies, moved to a new house, etc)?

I had a cat who threw up at least once a month. It was just the way he was. The vet knew about it, and we just made sure he looked good aside from the occasional barf pile. I have a cat currently, however, that started vomiting and acting withdrawn. We had a bunch of tests run on her and it turns out she has inflammation in her intestines. We think this is due to stress, and she on antibiotics and an easier to digest food.

Short answer, you know your cat better than anybody else. If you think something is wrong, then keep pushing for answers. You're the cat's advocate.

5 - 7 week old kitten throwing up?

I found a crying kitten on my school's campus and took him in. I took him to a shelter since I am currently trying to find home for five kittens already, but they told me they could only euthanize a kitten at his age, which was about three or four weeks at the time, so I took him home with me instead. He has seemed to be happy healthy living here, we give him milk and wet cat food and he always seems fine, but now I've noticed him throwing up and it worries me. I have read that throwing up can be a quick way for a kitten to die, and I have been trying so hard to let this sweet kittie live so it worries me a lot. I currently have $30 to survive the next couple weeks, so a vet visit can't happen immediately. What could be wrong with him? He runs around, plays with the other cats and kittens, eats normally, and cuddles with me but throwing up cannot be a good thing. Is there anything I can try to fix this? I was also wondering if maybe I should try a can of kitten formula or something? Please give me any advice, I am very concerned for his well-being :(

Cat has diarrhea and is throwing up...?

So about 3 days ago my cat started throwing up. Since he's prone to getting in the garbage I didn't really pay it any mind.

But then the next day I figured I would give him a treat (some Merrick's wet food, he's had it before) since he seemed bored with the dry food. When I opened the can it wasn't putrid but it smelled like poop. He still begged for it so I figured that's just the way that flavor smelt. He ate some of it and was fine. He went to sleep for most of the evening. Then at 11pm he woke up, made a low meow and threw up all over my bed.

After I changed the sheets, I noticed this terrible smell from the litter. He had a very watery (foamy) bowel movement. There were **** particles on the floor and bathroom door as well. He also got poop on his feet. So I cleaned this up and dripped him in the bath a few times...to clean the poop off of him. He seemed ok... but the next morning he had another watery (foamy) bowel movement.

Since he was still looking for food, I cooked some chicken breast and potatoes for him. He ate the chicken and seemed fine. Now tonight he threw up the chicken (it looked like it was half digested) and had another bowel movement. It wasn't as messy or big but he still got poop on his feet.

I don't know what's wrong. Is it bad food? Should I take him to the vet? He seems fine but he keeps pooping and throwing up only when he eats... He drinks water and still looks for food like he's hungry. Also, when he poops on his feet he licks it off as soon as he gets out. Is this bad?

A lot of questions but thanks for any input. ~.~

My cat keeps licking his butt hole?

I think he still has diarrhoea and he is getting dehydrated, so it's itching him down there and he tries to make the pain less, make him drink water then take him to the vet . the non stop thing makes me worry, because they might do it once or twice a day but not non stop..so I'd rather check with the vet.he have some tool which he can insert in the hole to see if there is any tissue openings and once he move he will get friction and pain down there , that makes him itchy and want to lick it.

My cat is throwing up foamy stuff. Some of it is yellow/white. What is this and what can I do?

Take it to the veterinarian... as in yesterday. As Catherine Spencer said it could be a hairball, but there are other (scarier) options. One of my cats got really sick, the same symptom, starting a bank holiday, I thought if it was hairball it would eventually go out. When I got my kitty to the vet she was almost dehydrated, and I was giving her water with a syringe (without needle, of course), but she vomited out more than I managed to make her drink in. So, make sure your cat is hydrated. My vet stressed it a lot.Second problem, if she has stopped eating it's a bad sign. As my vet emphasied cats should never fast, not even for 24 hours, it could damage their livers. Then, she would need high protein canned food to recover. Mine didn't like it, so I mixed it with water and I gave her with the syringe. As I found out, it is not normal for cats to vomit. The vet run blood-tests and x-rays to rule out some other disease, everything looked normal.Treatment:My kitty stayed half a day at the vet's hooked up to a drip administering intravenous fluids. She got two types of shots, one of them to make her stop vomiting, during five days in a row.The vet let me take her home with me, but we were visiting day in day out for almost a week.High protein canned food.Make her drink water.Recovery signs:When she drinks and eats by herself. We never got to know what was wrong, but she recovered just fine. My heart began to beat again, so happy ending for everyone.P.S. If you haven't got syringes, get some; they are very handy.

Why is my cat peeing, pooping, and throwing up everywhere?

First things first : go to the vet.And another things, valid for any cat, anytime (I know this might be obvious, but still, it doesn't hurt to remind about) :*Keep its food and water bowls clean.*Keep its water fresh and clean.*Keep the litter box accessible and clean. Scoop out its feces and urine daily.*Make sure the cat takes its parasites medicines as prescribed.*Make sure you don't have plants that might be harmful to cats (Google them), chocolate, human medicines, cleaning products, etc.I'm not saying those things will cure your cat. But prevention and good habits can go a long way. All the best to you and your little friend.

My dog was throwing up then running around and crying then she dropped and was shaking then she stopped moving?

I feel so sorry for this puppy. What a horrible, painful way for her to lose her life at such a young age. If you want to know the cause of her death then take her to a vet for a necropsy.

It sounds to me like she was poisoned. Poison should never be left around in the house or yard where a pet lives. Why didn't your mother buy a few traps if you have mice in your kitchen.

I hope the chicken bones you gave your pup were raw, not cooked. Cooked bones can puncture the intestines.

Please treat her body with respect. Do not put her out with the garbage, she deserves better than to be treated as garbage and in any case it's probably against health regulations for the garbage truck to take her.

You could have her cremated or if you don't want to do that, call Animal Control and ask them where you should take her remains.

My cat is throwing up everything, even water. Help!?

My cat is about 5 years old and has been vomiting for a while now. I thought it was just hairballs and that it would run it's course. Now he has stopped eating, and therefore is not using his box. He even vomits up any water he drinks. He has been hiding under the kitchen table and just sleeps.

We have tried to temp him to eat with tuna, milk, and canned cat food. He'll get up and sniff at it but won't really eat it. And whatever he does nibble, he loses in an hour. We brought him to the vet and they did a series of blood tests and things. They even did an x-ray but so far they can't tell us anything. I love my cat, but I can't afford the thousands of dollars that I know it will take to do surgery if he's eaten a foreign object.

Is there any home remedy I can give him like emetrol to help his tummy? Or a laxative to pass what might be in there? My vet doesn't seem to have any answers, only greedy pockets.

I don't want my kitty to suffer, but times are tough and I need answers. I don't want to put him down because of money. It's sad and it's cruel, but so is letting him waste away. I'd like to try any home remedy I can. Any ideas?

My cat suddenly started meowing in pain, throwing up and has diarrhea. Is there anything we can do to soothe him?

I realize your issue is over and I hope the kitty survived.A year ago I had a semi-feral cat that disappeared for two days. I was alarmed as she always shows up for food. The second day, I finally found her curled up in a patch of sun quite a ways from where I feed this colony. It took two hours to catch her; she was very reluctant. She cried when I got her in a carrier. She had lost weight noticably and had signs of diarhea on her bottom.Naturally, by then it was 5 oclock on New Years Eve and no place to go but the emergency vet. So I did, though I have never felt happy when I left one of those, and my pocketbook feels empty too. They did bloodwork and tested for kitty AIDS and leukemia, though I was positive she did not have those. She was negative for everything. They wanted to go on and on with tests, because that is what they know to do. They gave me fluids to give her via a pretty big needle and told me, after many hours, to take her to my own vet after New Year’s Day. I had finally refused many tests that just didn’t sound right to me. It was expensive.I gave her fluids twice a day and on the second we went to my vet. He examined her and said she seemed alert and he believed it was most likely that she had a gastrointestinal virus that had made her very sick. He told me to continue to push fluids for a couple more days and try to get her to eat. Though semi-feral, she allows me to pet her and she was cooperative getting the fluids. She started to drink water and then baby food. Once she ate, I knew she would be ok.A year later she is fat, still runs from me, but allows me to pet her if she is up on the food table. Part of me says “It was just the flu”, but another part thinks she was going to die without my intervention. I think she let me finally get hold of her because she needed help - and I needed help from a vet. She was very dehydrated and had already lost a pound or two of weight, which is a huge amount on a small cat.
