The first thing that came to my mind regarding your question is to explain the inate distinctions of behavior for each breed, ie. Pitbull and Chihuahua. Then teach you the reason these breeds were developed in the first place. This knowledge would help you determine how to approach the appropriate training. Also the dynamic between the two dogs and what you have been doing with them so far. Obviously, too much information for this forum.That being said, the best thing is to make sure they have had obedience training. Introducing pitbull to chihuahua?
I currently own a chihuahua, just over a year old. I plan to get a pitbull, that is about 5 months old. What are some good ways to introduce them together? Also, ANY training advice you have specific to pitbulls, please let me know, as every bit I can learn helps. Everyone says I can't leave the dogs alone together, ever. Which will be difficult, but can be done so I will do that. I know to socialize her, but I need advice on how to potty train her to not go in the house, etc. any advice for PItbills only, not dogs in general, please let me know. It's appreciated very much! This is an answer that can be very biased or misinformed.Some people will quote numbers saying that pits can bit with XX PSI ,but unfortunately since the dogs tested don't understand what they are biting for you get all sorts of different bites.I love pit bulls, I have 1 myself and would like to get several more. That said, depending on the size and fitness of the dog you can very well end up with a fractured or even broken arm if they latch on (this is more common with kids and small adults). Pitbulls do not have locking jaws, that's a common misconception that people have. Pits and other breeds similar have a psychological trait of determination that they won't let go for anything and that led to them being labeled with a locking jaw. I threw that in there just so people reading through might help spread awareness of this fact.
Are chihuahuas more dangerous than pitbulls?
In some ways, yes, in others, no. The APBT is heavier, larger, and can do more damage in that respect. But Chihuahua’s are faster, more unpredictable, due to the failue of owner’s coddling them, and them having “little dog syndrome.” They are one of the breeds we call “land sharks”, in vet med. meaning they will try to attack with no provication.I wiuld rather deal with an angry APBT than an angry Chihuahua. At least with a larger angry or scared down, I can get two leads on it, people holding in opposite directions, throw a towel over it’s head, and jump on it like an angry alligator to control to head and body.
My pitbull bit my baby in the face?
My baby went up to my pitbull and pulled on its tail and the dog responded by biting my baby on the forehead. My baby's head bled profusely and my baby was hysterical. Please help.? The baby needed stitches when I took him in. But the dog continues to bark at the poor child whenever they are in the same room.
