How old is your friend? If she is a teenager its perfectly normal for these feelings to arise, there are more teenagers who go through this same situation than we ever hear about because its classed as a taboo issue, as wrong. Society makes us think this way. Everyone is different, if this is a phase she will get over it, if its not then that's the way she is and there is nothing you or she can do about it, be there for her , support her, be honest with her. Talk this through with her, she needs to know you are there for her no matter what. She is probably as confused about all this as you are Hun. YOur friend is correct. It is a very bad idea. At the very least the girl will just be very confused but most likely awkward. Plus why don't you want to be one on one with her? That's then entire idea of a date.

Since he is your close friend i am assuming he knows you very well. Most of your secrets if not all. So, if he is such a close friend he would have sensed it that you like him too. If you do like him then giving it a chance would be not wrong. But if you are completely opposed to it and you have never felt about him more than just a friend then you need to talk to him and tell him why. Since he is a close friend he deserves an answer atleast.Be careful,if he is forcing you to be in a relationship, then friendship has nothing to do with it, you should simply walk away.However give a thought about it. If he's watching from Heaven/ Fields of Elysium/ whatever what do you think he would say about this situation? He would want you to do what would make you happy! (you still have a long life ahead of you) When you say "and she won't leave me alone" you sound sort of unsure and annoyed by her. Ultimately, the choice is up to you. Go with your gut feeling. My girl friend recently told me she wants to date other guys while she is in a relationship with me and my response was no I am not okay with that.
