My Dams Pups Are Only 7 Days Old And She Leavs Them

I have to leave my puppy alone for 2 days?

You are fine. Obviously you love your dog, but it is not inhumane to crate them. Your puppy might have an accident, but as long as you put a pee pad in the crate it will use that. My wife and I have two dogs, and when they were puppies we had to crate them when we would be at school or work. Also, dogs do not have the concept of time. That is why you could be gone an hour or a week and they would react the same way.

If you still think you might be a bad owner for doing it think about this; i have several neighbors who leave their dogs out all the time. One time they left them out all night when it got done to 7 degrees, and the other leaves his dog chained up all the time.

Your dog is lucky to have an owner who actually cares about his/her well being.

Also, don't worry about these people who are criticizing you about having a 7 week old puppy. The fact is that you have the puppy not how old it is.

Leaving 9week old puppy with friend for 3 days. ok?

so, i got a puppy a week ago. it wasnt expected, we were supposed to get a different puppy a week earlier and it was killed at the breaders house before hand, and heartbroken i went to the local shelter and they had puppies. so i got one. thing is, its not old enough to be boarded because it hasnt had all the shots yet (again, not old enough). my grandmother invited my boyfriend an myself to come visit thursday -saturday while my entire family is together at the beach. i havent seen this side of my family in over 8 years or so, possibly longer, and my boyfriend has never met anyone from that side of the family. so we're going. but the rental house cant have dogs so i cant take the pup. i asked my mom if she could watch her, but she's also going out of town that weekend, so she cant. i asked a friend, we'll 3 friends, to watch her. they all work at a vets office, and all have had pets of their own. we trust them. do you think she'll be ok? will she freak out and hate us?

Is it smart to board a 6 month old puppy for 5 days?

I would avoid this if you can. In a reputable facility, your dog should be physically safe, but a six-month-old is still in the developmental stage when dogs are highly impressionable and easily affected by things that happen to them. The experience of abandonment could be traumatic and lead to long-term issues with trust and separation anxiety. After the first year or so, a dog’s personality and behavior become more fixed, and a secure dog will be more resilient and get over the experience. Six months is still to young too assume that this will happen. If you want to do a good job of raising a puppy, you have to be prepared to plan your life around it for the first year or so. It’s like raising a child, but it doesn’t take as long.

I bought a Labrador puppy (35 days old) 2 days ago. What do they eat? What are good nutritious foods we should give him? Do they also drink milk?

35 days old puppy is too early to get them separated from their mother. As an experienced owner of a Golden retriever and a Labrador I will share some of my personal experiences below about their habits.Food Habits:Try to avoid Cows milk. The puppy wont be able to digest it and will lead to motions. Curd is the best to be introduced but strictly after atleast 1 month. **sometimes if you don’t have curd handy and you need to feed your puppy, take 1 bowl of milk and preshat that for 3 minutes and then increase the flame and add 1 tea spoon of lemon. This will break the milk and then you can add the extra solid food to that and then give to the puppy.I have used Royal Canin Maxi starter for my puppies and I have seen that they liked that. You need to keep in mind that you should not over feed the puppy. Once the puppy wokes up in the morning just give some curd mixed with water. Thenafter 15–20 minutes you can feed him the solid food.Feed the puppy for 4 times a day. Morning you can feed the puppy by around 9 Am. 1 pm noon you can mix the Dog food like RC or Drools with mashed potatoes and curd and feed your puppy. Vegetables are always good for the puppy’s health. You can also use carrots and beans. Boil them properly and then mix with the Dog Food along with curd and feed. 5Pm-6Pm you can feed once the same food. By 10 Pm feed your puppy with a bit more curd so that the digestion process will work properly.Make sure that the puppy is kept in a hygienic place. Also make sure that there is nothing that is kept on the ground such as papers, paperclips or small things that are chewable as the puppy might swallow which might create trouble.Banana is one of the fruit that you can give the puppy at this age. Just take 1/4 of a medium sized banana and then smash and then feed the puppy. That will also act as the treat.Avoid Sweet things also too much salty things.Make sure to keep a bowl of fresh water near the puppy always.Make the puppy play with you so that that will increase its appetite and also will make the puppy more active. But I need to state that Lastly you are the owner of your puppy and you need to take an active part in his life. Just have a check what food he likes the most and at what timings. Maintaining the timings will give the proper growth to your puppy.Thank you and I am happy to share my experience.

For how long can I leave my 2-month-old puppy home alone?

3 hours tops! The rule of thumb is age of the dog in months plus one. This rule is for an average to large dog. Small dogs can’t hold it that long most of the time.Crate: Someone told you really, really wrong. Learn that a crate is a “safe place” for animals that den. Dogs den. If you are doing it right, your dog should see that is HER safe place. There are dozens of articles on line and in magazines on how to crate your dog. Read them. who ever told you that you”shouldn’t let her in an enclosed crate” doesn’t merit your attention.Roaming around the house freely: would you leave a 4 year old child roam around the house freely? The dog will not be reliably house trained for months, perhaps as long as a year, depending on the breed. You can’t get pee out of shoes, or pillow, or sofas ….Back yard is fine IF you know that the dog will likely be stolen in a very few days and may only be resold or it may be used as a bait dog in a dog fighting ring. They don’t euthanize the bait dogs but just let them bleed out. Think about it.

I have brought a 22 days old labrador puppy. How should I take care of it to make healthy and later sociable?

Take it back to it’s mother! You must not be in one of the more developed countries, as most countries have laws that do not allow puppies to leave their mother until at least 8 weeks old.Since you already have he puppy, bottle feed it every 3 hours using bitch milk replacement, NOT cows milk or baby formula. After 28 days grind up a good quality meat based, grain free kibble and soak it in bitch replacement milk so it make a very soft runny slurry. You can open a nipple to have a larger hole and bottle feed the slurry. Slowly you can stop grinding the kibble and just mix with replacement milk. By about 42 days the puppy should be able to eat soaked kibble. The puppy needs to be fed 4 to 6 times a day until 8 weeks or 56 days, and then fed 4 times a day until about 6 months old. Puppies need frequent small meals. Here are some great articles to help with the puppy’;s mental development. My 8 week old female great dane pup keeps peeing in her kennel. HELP!?

Is the crate too big? It should be big enough for her to stand up, turn around and lie down in. No bigger. 3.5 hours is a long time for an 8 week old puppy. They can only hold their bladders for maybe an hour. Potty training can be hard, especially for a pup that young. Hang in there and take her our frequently.

**EDIT**

There seems to be some bad stories on here about potty training taking so long. I got my puppy at 10 weeks old and she just turned 6 months. She is excellent about going potty. She has had few accidents and she is pretty much potty trained now. She has an accident sometimes when we go to Grandma's house and she isn't use to the environment. It takes a lot of patience. I got up several times a night to let her go potty when I first got her. She stays in her crate without pottying, and it is a bigger size for her. You're puppy will get there.

Is it okay to take my puppy to a "puppy playdate" if he's been neutered 4 days ago?

So 4 days ago we got our nearly 5 month old puppy neutered. All the websites said that he'd be drowsy for the next day or two, but from the first day he's been running around with just as much energy as before.

The vet said that for the next 7-10 days we should keep physical activity to a minimum, to let the stitches heal. But he's been running around the past 4 days and his scrotum area looks just fine. He goes to "puppy socialization" every Wednesday, so do you think it's a bad idea to take him to that today? Or should I play it safe and not take him? I want to take him because he's super extroverted and absolutely loved playing with other puppies, and he only gets to do that one day a week, but I don't know if this is a very stupid idea. Thanks!

My 15 month old husky is acting weird. shes acting like a puppy stuffed animal is her baby?

Bring both dogs to the vet. The husky for a vet check and the other to have them check to see if the lil guy is neutered. Also, if the testicles did NOT drop, he needs surgery. Cryptorchid dogs have a higher chance of testicular diseases and cancer.

Some dogs do find one particular stuffed animal that they love and take care of like a Mom. The female could get a pregnancy test from the vet, x-rays aren't always needed, nor recommended. It's usually to tell how many vs if they are truly pregnant. Many doctors can palpate the abdomen and feel if there are pups or not.

She seriously needs to be spayed though. Please find a way to do this ASAP for her health.
