My Dell Inspiron N5010 Suddenly Switching Off

How can I fix the overheating issue with my Dell Inspiron laptop?

Make sure your laptop isn’t on the carpet, or cotton based materials, or even your lap as this prevents the laptop from cooling properly due to blocked airwaysBuying a laptop cooling pad can help a lot, on which you place your laptop and fans from the pad provide extra cooling. (If you can’t afford one, use 2 books as a stand on which you place your laptop to allow more airflow)You could use a can of compressed air to blow out the dust cluttered around the fan and intake airwayIf you are confident at disassembling your laptop, you could apply new thermal paste on the contact area between the CPU and heatsink/fanIf problem persists, then something is wrong with your laptop and I recommend you to have it looked at by a specialistAnd finally in case that specialist is offering to repair your laptop god knows how for a higher price than actually buying an entire new laptop, I suggest you get a new laptop instead

Dell Inspiron Overheating problem?

Day before yesterday I was playing prince of persia forgotten sands on my Dell Inspiron 15R n5010 and i noticed that the computer shut down automatically(it did save settings and tell windows is shutting down-it just went off). I checked the temperature on my bro's m17 while playing crysis n it was really cool n my bro never even experienced any overheating problems on his m17 before. Yesterday I turned on my laptop again n noticed that the temperature was really hot even when just i leave it idle and I play any game, it just shuts down after an hour. And also the fan speed isn't high at all; its running really slow. What do you people think is the problem??
My laptop specs:
500 GB HDD
4 GB DDR3 RAM
ATI Radeon 5650 1 GB GPU
Intel Core i5 : 2.5 GHz(dont know exact model)
Some1 please help me with this problem!!
N yeah 1 more thing my GPU temperature is 67 *C is that normal??

Dell Inspiron 15R N5110 is restarting automatically. What is the problem?

I have a Dell Inspiron n5110 laptop which started having wifi connectivity issues a while back. So I went to a local market here in Jaipur ( RAISAR PLAZA) which is notorious for cheap repair of laptops and many a times improvised defects in laptops as well. So I somehow got my wifi issues resolved. But now l've started getting autorestart issue in the laptop which has never happened before. So assuming that it was induced by the repair person in the market, what could have he done in the laptop( like tempering the power supply or other hardware) which has caused this problem??

My Dell Inspiron N5010 beeps 8 times at the time of booting. Also the screen is completely black and the (process) LED light is not blinking. What are any solutions?

PC model : Dell Inspiron N4010I faced similar problem last month when my laptop suddenly turned off with blue screen of death after which I turned it off by pressing the power button and turned it on again, it didn’t turn on but made 8 beeps.Later when I googled for 8 beeps error in dell laptops when I came to know that it is either a LCD problem or the problem of Display Chip itself. You can diagnose it yourself by connecting your laptop with external monitor. If it works fine with external monitor then certainly you need a screen replacement. Else if it doesn’t turn on, then your GPU is fried up and you need to replace your Motherboard itself.ORYou can try heating up the GPU with heatgun or hairdryer. In my case, I had to lose my graphics but my laptop works fine (though it does not support high graphics applications like Android Studio now) . But I recommend you to have a motherboard replacement instead.

How do I fix the problem "plugged in not charging" on my Dell Inspiron laptop?

Thanks for A2ATry the following and hope that it fixes.Check if there’s any BIOS update available related to battery for your laptop model.Download and try to update but before updating perform below steps:-Power off the system.Disconnect any external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) from the computer.Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the battery from it.Press and hold the power button for 20 to 30 seconds to release the residual charge from the laptop.Reconnect the battery and the AC Adapter.Once the system is powered on and booted properly, re-seat the battery. Once done, press F10 key to save and exit. System will restart. Check if the error is still there.Try and wiggle the AC Adapter cable and check if that makes a difference.Alternatively, you could also try below steps:-With above 20% battery left, unplug the power cord from both laptop and wall outlet.Open the bottom cover and Remove the batteryDry Wipe the battery connectors with a clean cloth several times.Put the battery back in and cover,Turn the laptop on with battery only. Now plug power cord into side of laptop, then into wall outlet.Check if it returns to charging state.

Help with my dell inspiron 1525..not charger with new battery and ac adapter?

In this case I there are two things to do:

-Calibrate the Battery
-Try to use another battery on your laptop, and then put your old one back in after the other battery proves affective

Since your laptop is giving you the issue of not charging at all, you can try calibrating your Battery, but I doubt I will work.

Just in case, here is how you Calibrate your Battery. First you fully charge your Battery, then you fully discharge your Battery. If that does not work try removing the Battery and putting it back in.

The other suggestion I would make you is to try to remove your old Battery and use the Battery of one of your friends for 15 min - 30 min or so and then put your old one back in to see if it works.

Other than that, call Dell and explain to them your situation. There might be a problem with the power jack in your laptop. I hope that is not the case, but if all else fails try calling the anyhow.

Dell Inspiron m1050 wont turn on please help me?

My dell inspiron m5010 turned off all of the sudden. it had been fixed before like 1 year ag0 for motherboard issues and it was working perfectly till it turned off.

I got to turn it on for one day by pressing the power button at the same time as the ¨d¨ key. But that only worked once. I also tried connecting to an external monitor to check for troubleshooting and it said that the battery life was good. Now I can´t even connect it to the external monitor.

When I try to turn it on the first light or power light turns on as well as the last light which I believe is the AC/DC light. However the middle light does not turn nor the screen it just stays black. I´m not sure what the second light is for but on the manual it says is the hard drive activity light. So it looks like this: 1st light turns on green, second light just stays off, third light turns on green when connected to the charger.

This laptop is about 4 years old and I have never replaced the battery, could it be that the battery died? if so, can I just buy a new battery? THERE ARE NO BEEPS WHEN I TURN IT ON.

PLEASE HELP ME! I´m broke right now and I can´t afford to take it to a shop. I am a college student without a job! lol....please help, i will appreciate.
