My Dog Has Accidents In The House

My dog had an accident at PetSmart and peed. She is house trained, this has never happened.?

Definitely ignore a snotty person and take care of your poor dog. The dog might of peed because he/she couldn't tell you he wanted to go out to pee. For example, he cant scratch at a door or whine to go outside. Or the dog might have been scared. First being put into the car, then a noisy parking lot, and then tons of other dogs around him. It's ok that the dog had an accident. My dogs have accident at least twice a year even thought they're trained. There are going to be people who don't like dogs or animals. Ignore anybody that tries to say anything negative about your buddy. Who does she think she think she is? Some people are simply rude. I understand confronting her, but if I had to choose between her and my dog, I would let it go and clean up my dog. I hope I helped.

Can a Dog have frequent accidents in the house after being spayed?

While fixed females may develop spay incontinence (and intact females may develop it anyway as they age) 5 days after surgery it is not related to the spay but perhaps to the surgery. dogs can have a lapse in behavior whenever there is a major change (and sometimes small changes too) and she may still be recovering from being away from you and in a hospital environment etc. She is also right at the age where most dogs backtrack in training and the two just coincided. Start her training again or at the very least take her out for an extra 2 walks and be sure to walk her when she is most likely to need to go.

Why is my adult dog suddenly having house accidents? She's about 9 years old.

I am answering my own question in case it might help someone else.My dog was having accidents in her sleep and was having trouble waiting until she got outside to pee. She would make it halfway down the stairs to go outside and then she couldn't hold it any longer and she would have an accident.I took her to the vet and they checked her for a UTI and did an ultrasound to look for kidney stones. They didn't find anything wrong so they think she is having hormonal incontinence due to old age. My understanding is that as she ages, her horomones decrease like a type of doggy menopause and it weakens her bladder muscles. They put her on a medication called Proin and she seems to be doing much better.

Dog peeing in house after being spayed?

My dog was just spayed four days ago and she has been having a lot of accidents in the house. She was housebroken. When she does let me know she has to go outside she will squat and pee several times before coming back inside. Will the problem clear up on its own in the next few weeks as she starts healing from her surgery?

My pregnant dog keps having assidents in the house.?

Here's the thing.. The pressure on her bladder is getting greater.. Sometimes she can't even feel that she needs to go out.. She will eat less more often, drink and need to pee more.. It's part of having a pregnant female.

My 8 month old puppy is still having accidents?

My 8 month old bichon/pom is nearly house trained. she knows she's supposed to go outside, but she still has accidents. i know she knows that she supposed to go outside because as soon as i take her out she goes. we are very consistent in taking her outside; we did the whole taking her out every half hour when we first got her and as she has gotten older we have increased the amount of time in btwn going out. which has seemed to work but she's still having accidents. she's up to about 3- 4 hours in btwn outings. some weeks every day she has one accident. she'll have an accident sometimes after she only went out an hour before. i understand puppies are not going to be perfect and they're going to have accidents. it just seems she's gone a bit backwards consdiering a couple months ago she was going a week w/o having an accident.
it seems to me, as i said, she understands she needs to go out. she never pees in front of us and has the guilty look when she has an accident, so i assume she at least somewhat understands to not go inside. she holds it all night in her crate, but there's something missing that she doesn't understand that she needs to hold it just a bit longer sometimes.

is this normal?, is there anything i can do to help her understand? when are most dogs fully housetrained? from everything i've read i'm doing exactly what people are suggesting but i'm just not sure what else to do....

Do female dogs tend to have accidents while in heat?

I have 7 month old boston terrier who just went into heat. She is normally really great with potty trainign but since she's started she's had multiple, small potty accidents in the house. Can this be typical when in heat?

Dog peeing all over the house after having puppies... What to do?

my dog had 8 puppies a month ago and pees in the house constantly now! It is to the point that my husband wants to get rid of her... Is this normal? (I don't think it is) How do I make her stop! She is let out more than enough in a day... She is pooping everywhere too. She has peed in the house 3 times today alone and pooped on our couch, just in the last 8 hours or so! Please help me! I don't want to get rid of her, but if this does not stop I don't see any other option.

PS: She is perfectly healthy. We have already ruled out a doggy UTI.

My dog is 12 yrs old. She is house trained on pads, she has had only poop accidents in the house on occasion for the past two weeks. Do you think it is behavioral or something else?

She’s an old girl. It’s common to lose some control of the bowels with age. She can’t hold it as long as she used to. Try letting her out more often. Then there’s joint, muscle and organ deterioration. In addition to failing senses which could heighten her anxiety and/or change the mental picture she has of her home, it could be loud or low air quality… could also be something outside that you can’t hear or smell that’s stressing her, construction, nearby dogs, etc.Try to reduce her stress. That said, it could also be an indicator of a more critical condition, like parasites or cancer so consider taking her in to the vet for a checkup.
