My Dreams Are Always Lucid But I Can Never Wake Up

I can't wake up from lucid dreams. It's getting scary.?

So I have pretty frequent (terrifying) sleep paralysis. I've figured out how to turn the incidents into lucid dreams. They're nice for a while, but when I try to get out of them and "go back to sleep," I can't. I can always find my way back to my room, and I think everything is over and I can get some rest. I guess I dream that I go back to sleep, but then I "wake up." I'm still in my room, but everything is subtly freaky (furniture is arranged, childhood toys I haven't seen in years are set out neatly on the dresser, etc.). For a minute, I think I've actually woken up but then I realize that I'm still dreaming. I try the going back to sleep thing again, but then I "wake up" again and things are still wrong. Each time, I get more scared. This happens 5 or 6 times and then I crash into reality when my alarm clock goes off. This is becoming an every-night thing. Does anyone know what I could do about this? Has anyone experienced it? I'm really tired, and afraid to sleep.

How can I go to sleep and lucid dream forever and never wake up?

I know of a way to accomplish such a thing without involving death of the physical body, but it is extremely time consuming and difficult, and I don’t recommend attempting to go down such a path because a nigh eternal/potentially eternal dream is almost guarunteed to eventually drive you utterly insane. That out of the way, you would need to find a way to distort your perception of time within your dream to extremes via tachypsychia, which can be very difficult to pull off. However, assuming you gain mastery over such a thing, eventually your body will have to wake up. The trick to not being in your body when it wakes up, is to partition your mind. Create and raise a tulpa for the purpose of taking care of your physical body’s affairs during your absence. The tulpa would need to be trained to take over as you in this reality, freeing the original you to push tachypsychia to nigh unfathomable extremes, seeded in yet isolated from waking reality in a sort of pocket dimension of your own design.Be wary that the tulpa may begin to experience various mental difficulties shortly after you make the leap into your eternal dream. Eventually you will forget about waking reality, you will forget that waking up is even an option, you will lose yourself. It may take what you perceive as millions or billions+ years, but sooner or later your mind will deteriorate in various ways, and this will likely cause problems for the tulpa. So keep this in mind while forming the tulpa, attempting to make the tulpa as robust and insulated from you as possible when you partition your mind. Make sure to first dip your toes in, and then dive shallow a few times while performing extensive testing on the tulpa, before fully commiting to diving deep into the sea of eternity. A trillion years is insignificant when compared to an eternity. Please keep in mind that creating a tulpa is not something to be taken lightly. There may be moral concerns as well. Please research heavily and put in a good bit of forethought before creating a sentient being.

I Can’t Control My lucid Dreams?

I know dreams often occur right before or as your body is waking up. I always have dreams right before I wake up in the morning. Maybe your problem isn't fighting to wake yourself up during lucid dreaming but it is another problem like light sleeping. Or perhaps noises in the night wake you up and the dreaming occurs as you are returning to consciousness. Either way I would try to see a sleep specialist to determine what the problem is because not getting adequate sleep can be harmful to your health.

Why do I always wake up when I realize I'm dreaming?

There are two main possibilities here. The most likely is that you aren’t waking up because you catch yourself dreaming, you’re catching yourself dreaming because you’re in the process of waking up. Most of the imagery your brain generates in dreams lacks detail compared to the real world (especially objects that have complex reflections, textures and shadows), but because you’re asleep, your brain isn’t active enough to notice this. So, really, you only notice you’re dreaming as the dream is already fading away, and you’ve already regained your normal wakeful awareness. The other possibility is that you are waking up for the same basic reason that you usually wake up when you die in a dream. Just like your brain doesn’t know what’s supposed to happen after you die because you’ve never died, it also doesn’t know what’s supposed to happen when you are aware that you’re dreaming, so it just panics and makes you wake up.If you’d like to teach yourself not to wake up every time you realize you need to learn to lucid dream. For a more detailed tutorial, you should look up or ask a more relevant question, but basically, the idea is to get in the habit of regularly checking to see if you’re awake or not while you are awake, so that you’ll end up doing it in a dream, and catching yourself. (There are some techniques that involve falling asleep in a special way, but these don’t usually lead to a true lucid dream, but instead lead to getting stuck in sleep paralysis, which is annoying at best, and often utterly terrifying.)

Is lucid dreaming dangerous?

I love lucid dreaming. It is not true that you will not wake up. I usually wake up soon after a dream becomes lucid, much to my disappointment. I have a friend who dreams lucidly more often than I do, and he does hate it, because he wants to wake up and can't immediately do so. He does, of course, eventually wake up, usually after less sleep than most people.

Best thing to do in a Lucid dream?

I have one about every two weeks. I had one two years ago and have been trying ever since to have them more frequently. I used to have one every couple of months or so, but I'm getting pretty good at it. My favorite thing to do is flying, can't be beat. There is one more thing that is really cool to do, but I'll let you figure that out.
