Is my ex boyfriend a paranoid schizophrenic?
I'm a 21 year old straight female in a sorority at a four year university. I come from an upper middle class family. Both of my parents are doctors. I don't have any tattoos or piercings other than my ears. I drink alcohol like any college student but have never done drugs. Towards the end of our relationship that lasted almost a year, my ex boyfriend starting exhibiting extreme paranoia and irrationality. He claimed that his old roommate had tainted his neosporin in an attempt to give him a sexually transmitted disease and went to several doctors and wouldn't believe them when even they told him this wasn't possible. Out of left field he claimed that I was a victim of sorority hazing (an untrue allegation) and that it highly disturbed him. When I had a layover on one flight home and stayed at my friend's apartment in the city, he freaked out and accused me of cheating on him with my female friend and having a longstanding lesbian affair with my friend. After I broke up with him, he accused me of being addicted to cocaine and started sending me links to the chronic side effects and claiming that he could tell because "my nose had changed" (I promise I haven't gotten a nose job, he's just imagining things). Almost six months after our breakup, my mom called saying he had come to my house crying and apologizing for hurting our family. He followed that visit up with a call to me saying he was apologizing for giving me an STD he thought I had proceeded to give to my sister (I've been STD tested and am completely clean, and I obviously don't have an incestuous relationship with my little sister). I would go on with examples of his paranoia but I think that's enough to demonstrate the pattern. Each of these episodes he was completely serious and sobbing crying having an emotional breakdown and took almost an hour to reassure and bring back to reality. I've been reading a little bit about it and wondered if he should be seen by a therapist and possibly diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia? Thanks in advance for reading this.
How should I break up with my schizophrenic boyfriend?
I'm 16 years old, and my first boyfriend happens to be a schizophrenic. I knew hew was from the start and I loved him just the way he was. The schizophrenia only bothered me once. Everyday, I go knocking on his door, and then we hang out. THAT'S IT. We walk around, talk, hit a dead end, and walk back to school. I also feel like I am displeasing him, considering he is older than me, I feel he needs someone who is his age, has there own place, and has time or freedom (which is something I don't have a lot of). I gave him the option of breaking up if he wanted to, but after the conversation, he just asked to stay together and since we have. I have also gotten the feeling that he doesn't like me as much as I do. When I come to his door, I get a very weired feeling that he doesn't like me anymore, and I feel like a fool. There is no way we both can make this relationship go any further, than a bunch of walking around, and some dead end signs. He once old me that he had a girlfriend once, who broke up with him, and he took an overdose of sleeping pills, and tried to kill himself. And I am afraid that if I do break up with him, he will do something bad to himself. How do I break up with him, I do I tell him I just wanna be friends, and not see you everyday. Considering that I am breaking up with him because I don't feel he wants me, and we can't take this any further, and not because of his condition. PLEASE HELP... how can I do this the nicest way possible.
How do deal with schizophrenic boyfriend?
My boyfriend is the epitome of perfection, he has everything, intelligence, personality, very good looks, height etc. the only thing that brings him down is his past schizophrenia. He actually hasn't had an episode, or schizophrenia itself since he was 13, and now he is 21 so it's been some time (8 years) he told me it went away - even though it's not possible. Lately he has been upset and things turned bad. He got into a fight with his dad and ended up getting pushed off a three storey building and had a few sprains. Ever since then he has been terribly upset, he punched through walls, I caught him crying, sat for days with his hands in his palms. I tried to rub his back play with his hair, hug to soothe him but he had no reaction. Now he has withdrawn from everything except for me, he said he interests lay with nobody except for me and hasn't called his family, also ignored all the calls and visits from his family to the point where he got so fed up that he just started staying with me. Generally he is a very social guy, he won't tell me what's troubling him, what's going on? What to do
Is dreaming about my boyfriend and his ex getting back together a sign? or am i just paranoid?
so basically the other day my boyfriends ex from 3rd grade (whom he broke up with) messaged him on facebook, and she seems soo excited to talk to him, asking him if he remembers her etc. and, im sitting right there while she tells him to call her. im like ok... so he asks me whether he should call or not, i say "do what you want" he calls her, and her phone dies but he keeps messaging her on facebook. now obviously, im going to be irritated when he's supposed to be hanging out with me. so the next morning i wake up from a nightmare in which basically he was off with her, while he was supposed to be with me, then i tried calling his cell, but he handed it to her and she said to me that he was "one of her projects" so i try calling again but she answers every time, so basically there's no use trying to warn him since he wont listen. then when they come back to my house i punch her, but it doesn't do anything to her at all, (I'm supposing that translates to lack in self confidence as specially with fighting) so yeah i wake up crying. soo yeah, am i just paranoid, or is this a sign to keep an eye on her?
