How do I get good grades in high school when I'm stupid?
First of all, you're not stupid.However if you do struggle in school, I can bet it is due to one main reason: your work ethic. Speaking as a high school senior at the moment, it was definitely hard to transition into freshman year. I wasn't studying enough for my classes and procrastinated all the time. This was very evident in my GPA. It's not that I wasn't smart, I just wasn't trying, even though I thought I was. In high school, there are a lot of things that you have to do. You have to volunteer, you have to participate in clubs, and on top of that, you have to do well in school. This can be very stressful and can make you feel like you're stupid at times. But you have to create a strong worth ethic. You need to set a time to do homework and to study. There is no way around this.For example, in my sophomore year right after I came home I started my homework. And I worked on it for about two hours and then I gave myself a short break. By not taking a break after school, my brain stayed it in it's working mode and ultimately I got my work done faster and more efficiently.Another important thing to do is to look at the deadlines. For example if you have a book report due in three weeks, start reading the book as soon as you get it. I cannot stress that enough. I understand that there are things online like spark notes but if you are taking higher-level classes, spark notes is not going to help. I can tell by my own experiences and I can only warn you.So so to wrap this up, understand your own schedule and make sure you a lot enough time to your studies. I want to go back to public school, but what would happen?
OK I've been in public school all my life (hated it, everyone frames me and be a complete jerk to me and I'm a loser there) And this year for like....7th grade (again..) I'm home schooled, but now my 'friends' and my cousin and brother make fun of me a because they think I'm stupid if I'm home schooled. and I want to go back to public... but would I be put into a special ed class....? I'm 15. And the times i have failed like the first year of 6th grade was because of my dad's fault. and then this 7th grade was a drop-out mishap and its my moms fault. so I ******* hate my life right now everyone calls me stupid.... I don't know how I'm going to live now because my life is ****** up and my education is ruined. I cant be a doctor or a Physicist or a Pharmacist. this sucks. and I'm extremely great at math and science! I've always been best in class but my other grades = fail. History is always an F or D. what should I do!!!!!!!! HELP!!!! I NEED ADVICE, HOW CAN I FIX MY LIFE?!?!?!!!!!!
Why do public school kids think home schooled kids are stupid?
I'm home schooled, and i can't make too many friends because i tell them i'm home schooled and they say "Oh, well, OK, i'll just play over here then." I just don't think it's fair! Many pub. school kids i've talked to have no idea what type of homework we have to go through or what other life ordeals we have to go through! Sure, ive met some very nice pub. school kids, but they still look at me like i'm stupid. I saw a girl on yahoo answers that was home schooled and she asked the question: "Im home schooled, how can i make some friends?" and some rude person responded "Do your parents hate you?" NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In fact, one of the reasons they keep us home is because the love us and want to spend more time with us! I learn just as much (If not more) at home as people do in school. My brother did first and second grade in the first grade (home schooled), and when i tell people that, they say "Well, it doesn't count if you're home schooled cuz' you don't go to school!" That doesn't make a hills bean worth of sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please, I make all A's, tell me if you think that is stupid! I work hard from nine in the morning till' nine thirty at night. I'm in the 9th grade, I work very hard, I make A's, and i help my mother with her babysitting job. Please tell me why people think home schooled kids don't know anything. I want as many answers as possible, because i will talk with my friends and explain why we can't make many pub. school friends. (If you are pub. schooled and this offended you, i am truly sorry, but it makes me sad to think that most people think me and my friends that are home schooled are dumb. i just want to know why:( )

Most people are stupid because they have been trained by the public schooling system to become conformist and obedient slaves to the ecnomic paradigm. Public schooling is designed to dumb you down. That's an undisputable fact. Otherwise, why would they force you to memorize so many useless facts in public school? Most of the stuff they teach you from grade 9 and higher (in high school and university) is either1) Worthless to everyday life (like calculus and algebra. Who the hell will ever use those in everyday life?)2) Complete nonsense (like the crap they teach you in history class. All politically correct nonsense)3) Even if they thought you something useful in class, you probably could have learned it using the Internet or books on your own. For example, I don't remember anything from any of the biology classes I took in high school. I do, however, learn a lot about biology by using the Internet. I say drop out of school once you finish grade 8 because that's all of the formal education you will ever need. And yes, I answered your question about why so many people are so goddamn stupid. It is because the school system around the world is designed to make you stupid. Plus, people are very gullible, and have been conditioned and trained by school to believe whatever the government tells them. The government could tell the masses the most stupid lies, and they will believe it. The masses are too dumb to do research on their own, so they believe in anything the government tells them. I call these people sheeple. And these people are too dumb to be helped. Sucks to be them. But luckily I'm no longer dumb enough to be a sheeple.
What is the difference between private and public school kids?
I go to a private school, i have a lot of friends from public schools who are just like me. Some of my friends say people at their school think that private school kids are snobby, stuck up, rich, boring socially retarded and smart. Some of my private school friends say that public schoolers are stupid, druggies, perverted and think their so cool. A lot of the people at my school look and act just like public school kids and some public school kids i know act just like private school kids! Is any of this really true? what is true? is there really a difference between private and public school kids? Oh and I'm in 8th grade middle school

NO! I read your question and the replies and skipped onto the next page. Sometimes I just like reading what teens are thinking about these days. I was expected some ditsy question like what shoes should I wear or why is Nick Jonas wearing a blue shirt? You are a very intelligent young lady (making myself sound ancient!) I've worked with teens like you who have been very bright but failing out of school and getting into loads of trouble. Some of these kids are much better now because our schools allow for kids who learn differently. I did okay in schools but I felt blunted because I had a different way of showing what I knew and schools didn't allow for this. I did graduate and finish college but now things are so much better! First, you ask about intelligence. Intelligence is defined as an organism's ability to survive in a given environment. I would say you are highly Intelligent! Secondly, IQ testing is done on a percentile so it is age geared....... a first grader with an earned IQ of 135 is equivalent to a 30 year old taking an IQ test which is age appropriate for them. I strongly suggest that you, your parents, and your therapist push for you having an IEP which is an Individualized Education Plan. There are many ways to learn and I'll bet you would learn faster and more effectively in a creative program. For example, some people learn geometry from a book memorizing rules and equations. Other people learn geometry by watching buildings be made and why a 47 degree angle must be exact or the building will fall over. There is nothing wrong with being a different learner. We need more people who learn to solve problems in ways others cannot see. It's so important that someone finds what is the best way for you to learn because the world needs intelligent talented people like you. Don't drop out and don't give up! Keep screaming to get your learning needs met! You're brilliant and everyone needs to know!
