Probably it is just because of the food it eats. Is it pink or a shade close to pink? Probably that. I used to give my fish brown flakes and it would poo brown poo but when I gave it peas, the poo was green. Although pink seems kind of unusual- if anything ask a person that works at a fish store...but im pretty sure im right!

Mucoid stool and pink is the clear sign of bacterial infection, such as shigellosis that causes dysentery. Another differential could be inflammatory bowel syndrome where your collon basically chapping off and there's where the blood being introduced to stool. Since you mentioned pink, i could also think that it is really pink, meaning the stool color originally is white (before the inteoduction of the red blood cells) or not as per usual stool color. In this case you might indeed have some case on your colon, which responsible to oxidize bilirubin into stercobilin, which the usual stool color of golden brown. Golden brown cannot be outdone by red so pink stool can only be possible if the golden brown color is absent. Thats just my speculation. You really need to produce that stool and show it to your doctor to get better medically relevant opinion. Or else, just purely guessing game here.
