A friend of my went awol can he still apply for civillian jobs with out the navy finding him?
If he is U.A. (absent without leave) as the Navy calls it, he will be listed in a deserted status after 30 days, at which time his name will be listed on the National Crime Information System (NCIS). He can attempt to get a job but most companies such as Target and such do background checks and urinalysis. If they do a background check, whether he lists military service or not, it can show up if they do a criminal background check. The NCIS will notify the authorities who will then pick him up and hold him for the military, normally the Naval Criminal Investigative Service who will return him to his Command. He then will face either Captains Mast or a Courts-Martial depending on whether they charge him with U.A. or Desertion. Desertion can be hard to prove if he is still in possession of his I.D. Card. He needs to turn himself in and make it easier on himself. If he gets courts-martialed, he has a Federal Conviction which can make finding a job very difficult.
How to Convince My Friend to Stop Using Cocaine?
A really really good friend of mine does Cocaine. And I really want him to stop because its endangering his health and killing his brain. He's 17 right now, and I believe hes been using for at LEAST 3 years. Hes tried to quit twice and only made it to 5 days without using again. He really wants to quit too but I dont think he has the motivation for it. I want to tell him something that will get his brain thinking on how much his addiction is hurting me. Something including how he could die and how much pain that would cause me and his family and friends (real friends) around him. Like a letter that would bring him to tears. Something really powerful. If you could kindly help me, it would be appreciated. Thanks! (Oh, and if you could give me some tips to help him quit. Hes not gonna go to rehab. Is there any way he can quit just at home?? Any methods?? Please and thanks!)

What does it mean, when your not dating a guy, but everyone thinks your dating him?
Yeah sure i do like this guy, but we're really close friends. This guy i've likes since the start of the year and for some time i was trying to get him to date me. But that didn't work out so well and now he even has his own girlfriend. But the thing is just yesterday he was asked if we're dating. And then today one of my friends come up to me and tells me everyone thinks that me and this guy are dating, even she did till i told her i'm not. Also i'm on really good terms with his parents and sister. Even alittle bit from his dad shockingly. and i'm starting to get that homey feeling and that you don't feel odd around the parents. Also ever since he started dating this girl he been silent with it. you'd usally want to be with you girl as much as you can, but he stil hangs with me like he was single, and we even slept in the same bed (double person one). Sure i want to date him but i don't want it to be rumors i want it to be true.
I don't understand people's lack of empathy for immigrants!?
I read all kinds of comments here about how all illegals are lazy criminals, and how they want to take advantage of our resources and take away our jobs. Does this bother anyone but me? My best friend's boyfriend was brought here by his parents when he was 3- meaning it was not HIS choice. He grew up and went to school here, was a good student and wanted to go to college. Then his parents told him that because he was illegal he couldn't go. The guy can't get a job, a bank account, credit, NOTHING. They are planning to get married and they can't even find proper ID to do that. And guess what? He can't go back to Mexico either, with no family there, no place to stay and no money to survive. He doesn't even have the proper papers Mexico requires to get a job there. I have heard so many sad stories like that and I can't believe that people think life is just SO easy for illegals. I think that people have that hatred because they want to have someone to blame for their own problems.
