Is Isaac a bad name for my son? I told my friends and they all laughed. My surname is Dick.

I have a unique perspective on this answer.Isaac is a great name.I was born in England in 1997, not the USA in 2017, so it won't be directly comparable, but still.I loved growing up with my name, it was both unique enough that I felt value in myself, I wasn't ‘Jack #3’ or ‘Sam #4’ but it also wasn't so rare that people were confused as to whether or not it even was a name.I was mocked a bit as people asked me whether or not i was related to Isaac Newton, but that's just idiotic kids being kids.Of course, your child will be called I-Suck-Dick. It will happen when his peer group hits maybe 14, 15. My last name is Bliss, and some clever clogs realised bliss sounds a tad like ‘balls’, and so I was stuck with the name ‘I Suck Balls’ for a few years, from some dickheads. But everyone gets made fun of for something or another. Your son will survive it. Hell, maybe he'll turn out to be gay and it'll be true!

What do you think of the names Tre , Trent?

What do you think of the name Lane for a boy?

Nothing wrong with the name Lane I have seen the movie and it so sad

but if you name your son Lane don't spell it Layne because it looks like it is spelled like a girls name.

not only that if your boyfriend wanted to name him Lane after Lane Frost it wouldn't be the same if you spelled it Layne..
good luck and congrats to you

If a friend wanted to name his unborn son Adolf and wanted you to be godfather, would you do it?

I don't have a problem with the name as such. I do have two potential problems with it though.First, I'd worry about the kid being bullied over it. Especially if the child lives in Germany this seems very likely. Where I live, it's downright illegal to give children names that are likely to be a liability to them; I don't know if that'd extend to Adolf though. A name is primarily for the child, and only secondarily for the parents. Choosing a name that "has meaning" to the parents even knowing that it'll likely be a liability to the child is an egoistical thing to do. Here in Norway nobody does that though; here's a graph of the popularity of the name Adolf over time:Secondly, a Godfather in the christian tradition is an external adult with a shared responsibility for the Christian upbringing of a kid. I know most people entirely ignore this responsibility and instead treat it merely as a honorary title, but I personally ain't a fan of making promises and taking on obligations I have zero intention of keeping. I'm an atheist, there's no way I could (or would want to) oversee a childs "Christian upbringing".

What do you think of the name Jayden Rene? Does it sound unisex to you?

It's unisex. My son's name is Jaiden, and a friend of a friend has a son named Jaden as well. I also know a woman whose daughter's name is Jayden. I think it's more feminine with a "y".

Jayden Rene is a good name, both are unisex names.

What do people think of the name "Andrew" for a newborn son?

A2A I like the name Andrew. I had many Andrews in my classroom . Lots of times their nick name was Andy.
