My Grandma Has Lowering Kidney Levels But Was Given New Medication Could This Be Why

Kidney failure and creatinine levels?

Creatinine is produced by your muscles at more or less a constant rate, the amount of creatinine in your urine versus how much is in your blood gives and indication of how well your kidneys are doing. A low creatinine level in your urine is not necessarily a good thing, it's the clearance of creatinine that matters and they estimate your glomerular filtration rate ( GFR ) from that. You don't actually want the Creatinine in your urine to disappear as that would mean your kidney had failed. Things are rarely a matter of high is bad, low is good or vice versa. If your Doctor won't tell you if a test result is good or bad, ask for the test results and take them to another Doctor.

Yes, In fact most of the blood pressure medications are given at night. Some studies suggest that blood pressure medication taken at night might improve your blood pressure and prevent risk of heart attacks and strokes than taking the same medications during the day. The studies also suggests that about one-third of patients who took blood pressure medication at morning developed a heart attack or stroke, as those who took at night.

I want to give my grandma my kidney?

Is your grandmother refusing it because she does not want to see you in pain or risk your health?

What I try to get people to consider is that anyone who has a person willing to be a living donor needs to let that person be tested. My reason is because there are many people who DON'T have that option. They have no choice but to wait for a cadaver donor, and die waiting. People w/ possible living donors who say "no" are essentially being a bit selfish, by waiting for an organ from a person who has died. That kidney really needs to go to a person who has no one who was a candidate to be tested, or was not a match. Kidneys are the organ most in need. People are dying while waiting. She could "free up" a cadaver kidney by receiving one from you.

I'm not saying that your grandmother is a selfish person; I doubt that at all. She is probably just unaware of the need.

I hope your grandmother changes her mind, so that you can be tested. Unfortunately, the transplant team will not let you be a donor against her will, and she has to be aware that you are being tested. I have included a link about living donation.

Kidney transplant is a surgery to put a healthy kidney into patient;s body, so that i can replace failed kidneys to support life. If your creatinine level keeps creeping up after kidney transplant, it means your transplanted kidneys can not maintain our basic life activity. In such a case, it is necessary for you to do something to strengthen it. First of all, you need to take anti-rejection drugs to prevent renal rejection. Second, make sure you can get an effective treatment to strengthen your kidney. In our country, the most commonly used Chinese medicine treatment include Micro-Chinese Medicine Osmotherapy, Circle Therapy, Acupuncture and so on. Third, make sure you are having a kidney-beneficial diet. Although we can not get recovery just by adjusting our diet habits, it is necessary for us to avoid some foods which are bad for our kidney. Creatinine is just one of the wastes produced in our body and normally it is eliminated by kidneys. When our serum creatinine level keeps increasing, we should concern about our kidneys, because it is due to our impaired kidney function.

Is White Kidney Bean Extract good for lowering blood sugar in diabetes?

If it did my doctor would save a fortune and give it to me rather than the metformin I have to take 3 times per day after healthy eating and exercise.

Am so sorry about your grandma.A few suggestions, but no definite answer:Painkillers: you should keep her free of pain, so not wait until she is in pain again, give her the next dose before she feels the pain, speak to her docs to have them prescribe a long lasting pain killer, some people do well on a skin patch.  The first dose usually needs to be higher, to reach an effective blood level, after that it needs to be topped up regularly, easier done when using long acting formulations.Whatever the underlying reason for her pain is, it looks as if there is no easy answer how to make it go away since nobody knows why she is in pain, she certainly doesn't deserve to suffer the pain, and don't start objecting that you wouldn't want her to get addicted to those often strong pain killers, she using it for serious pain problems won't, that would be the worse anybody could do for her.  Even docs not used to treating sick cancer patients in much pain still make this mistake, I'm sorry to say, so I fervently hope her doc is a compassionate and practical doc. What could cause her pain not seen on an abdominal CT:People whose immune system has been weakened, like hers might be, can have terrible Neuralgia cause by shingles = Herpes zoster, the classical rash/blisters only becoming apparent after a few days of terrible pain.I  know of people who were wrongly diagnosed as having kidney stones, only  to show the blisters 3 to 5 days later making the real diagnosis  apparent. Her being your grandma means she is an elderly lady.Am not sure about other risk factors for vascular disease (smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes, family history), but a notoriously hard to diagnose and often missed, and hard to treat, underlying condition causing abdominal pain would be Mesenteric ischemia, meaning her bowels not getting enough blood = oxygen so hurting all the time, only coming to light after the segment(s) of bowel has totally turned necrotic, causing what we call an ischemic Acute abdomen.  If so the outlook isn't good, if a large segment of bowel has died off she can't be saved by surgery.Last observation: if she feels too unwell to eat well, please don't force her to eat/drink because you think that might make her live longer, it won't, we know that from many studies published in these last years, it would just make her life more miserable, feeling guilty not being able to fulfill her dear one's best meaning wishes.Wishing her all the best!

It would have been easier to give a specific advice if you had mentioned your age and the reason for your renal failure.1. Presuming that you are a diabetic considering it to be the most common cause tight glycaemic control is the first thing you have to do. Correct follow up with your diabetologist and following his advice is the foremost.2. If you are hypertensive your blood pressure should be less than 125/85. The above although known known advices, i am just re in forcing them because these both are the most important things to be followed.3. Avoid any pain killer medicine, NSAID's like diclofenac, ibuprofen, combiflam most commonly used otc etc etc. Never ever ever use them. Only use paracetamol if required.4. Never use any alternative medicines, herbal medicines herbal medicines, anything other than prescription medicines which people claim to cure diabetes(most diabetics use all forms of alternative medicines, sometimes even GPs i have seen prescribing them - sorry we don't know what are the contents and if they contain any heavy metals or anything which damages the kidney). This advice is true even if your non diabetic5. Never neglect any infection even if you think they are minor. Always whenever you go to a doctor, mention to him that u have kidney disease so that he can be careful before prescribing something.6. Follow steps 1 to 5 perfectly. These are general advices but there is nothing in particular which I can give. If you have not been established on a diagnosis yet, better find a Nephrologist and meet him so that you can get to know what is the diagnosis and he can give you a specific advice or treatment if required

Blood pressure medicines are bound to effect kidneys adversely.Main job of kidneys is to regulate mineral balance in the body. When kidneys fail in some of its functions, there will be fluid build up while kidneys try to re balance the minerals. And we decide to take control from kidneys while we know not even 1% of kidneys functioning principles. The first line of medicines that are given to control pressure are diuretics which will reduce the fluid from the body. That will keep you sick for life.So all blood pressure medicines will adversely effect kidneys and creatinine levels. To keep your kidneys in perfect shape or to reverse any damage to the kidneys read my blog -How to detoxify the Blood by Rajinder Bhalla on My personal experiencesI am trying to take help of kidneys working principles to keep them in perfect shape. I had kidney stones 3 years in a row. Today I have no kidney issues even after 10 years of following the above mentioned routines. And at the age of 53 my blood pressure is still 110/70 even when I do not watch my salt intake. Some times I simply binge on salt. Taking more than 50 grams of salt in less then 30 minutes. That should give you an idea about the state of my kidneys.
