My Gums Have Been Hurting

Gums hurt?

See a doctor would be 1st opinion. Common Sense.

Do not floss and listerine everyday. Why? Listerine is powerful antiseptic. You should only do it occasionally in a month. Flossing I rarely do, and my teeth are just fine.

Where is your gums hurting? Could be a bad tooth, cold sore, or just something small. If you are so concerned stay with the number 1 option.

I hurt my gums while brushing my teeth?

Yesterday, while brushing my tooth brush hit my front tooth & gum area (lower jaw). It bleeded a little and then stopped, I didnt have much pain yesterday, but since morning I'm having a constant pain in my gum & tooth.

Also, I got a psychological feeling that my tooth would is slightly loosened. I dont know if its actually loosened or just my feeling.

What do I do ?

My Gums Hurt Like Crazy Sometimes. What Is Wrong?

this sounds like what happened to me. My premolar also broke off and was fine for a while and then it got worse and worse (well it got filled and then part of the filling broke off and it got refilled and then it hurt)....the nerve is exposed and you will probably need a root canal. I took a while to get it done but when the inside of my mouth went purple and my cheek swelled I knew it was time to get it looked at.

I was on painkillers 24hrs a day I was in so much pain...get it sorted as it will only get worse.

My gums are swollen and hurting and I cant eat anything!!!?

Is something stuck in your gums? Or do you have an infection in your gums? I suggest you contact your dentist...
As for eating; ever heard of the category 'soft food'? People who get braces always asks about that because they think they can't eat anything but soup, which isn't true. Smoothie, potato mash, soup, porridge, pasta, lasagna, yogurt, salmon and so on all work. Just research it or look at former questions regarding food and braces. There are a lot of good ideas on the internet.

Can mouth ulcers make your gums hurt as well?

I’ve noticed I have a mouth ulcer (not on my gums) but on the inside of my bottom lip. It is almost healed now it’s been about a week. I noticed today my gum was hurting really bad right where the ulcer was? I took Tylenol but can the ulcer cause this pain? Today was the first time I’ve felt this since I’ve had the ulcer. I went to the dentist not even a month ago he said I had a good checkup.

Why do my jaws and gums hurt when I'm flying under constant high g's?

Yes and no. Pressure changes at high altitude (low pressure) and upon descending especially when pulling g’s can create a vacuum and reverse vacuum (squeeze and anti-squeeze). Barotrauma, barosinusitis, barodontalgia are common in your profession. The resultant pressure changes in the sinuses can put pressure on the trigeminal (5th cranial nerve) which innervates the teeth leading to jaw and tooth pain. Can also manifest in your gums hurting. However, you should have a complete dental checkup to ensure that you don’t have any dental issues. Barotrauma in teeth can make existing dental problems, like root canal problems become acute. There is Air trapped inside teeth that gets affected by these big pressure changes. A root canal problem can become acute due to this. The barotrauma can also fracture vulnerable teeth. The specific pain in your gums might be a sign that you have periodontal disease (periodontal pockets).Other dental issues that are affected by barotrauma and manifest in barodontalgia are: dental caries, defective restorations, impacted wisdom teeth, existing root fractures or other pathology. So get a clean bill of health from your dentist then check with your flight surgeon regarding any sinus issues. You don’t say if this is a new thing or something that has been with you your whole career. If it is a new manifestation it might be a sign of existing dental disease or sinus issues.

I feel pain in my gum after dipping?

Your gums could be still tender and recovering from before. If you do not know, tobacco companies add polyester shards inside the dip to cut up gums, and allow more nicotine intake. Originally, this may not have hurt because you had healthy gums, but now that you've injured them, they are trying to recover. Unfortunately, you are re-cutting them open, which is sort of like re-punching a bruise.
Ultimately its your choice, but I would stop, since repeat injuries cannot be good for your gums (not to mention the other issues related to dip)
