My Hands And Feet Are All Clammy And I Have A Fever Is This Okay

Why do I feel cold on my feet and hands when I am having a flu and the body temperature rises?

There's a short, literal answer, and a longer one that answers what (I think) you actually want to know.Short answer: any time the body intends to increase temperature at the core (major organs) it shunts blood away from less needy areas. So whether the situation is fever or just being under-dressed for the weather, your hands, feet, nose are colder than usual.Long answer: with fever, our infection-killing cells release chemicals that increase our temperature's 'set point'. Think of your body as you'd think of a house. Both have a heating system and a cooling system. Both have a thermostat. The body's heating system uses shivering, re-distribution of blood (from hands, feet…) and discomfort (you feel cold, and put blankets on). The cooling system uses sweating, flushing (sending blood to skin at the surface) and discomfort (you shed blankets). The thermostat is in your brain (but not your conscious brain). When you begin to attack the infection, the thermostat (like your house) is reset to a higher temperature. The first event is that the heater turns on. But at that moment, the house (your) temperature has not changed…the heater is simply running. After a bit, the temperature rises (fever) and the heater (shivering) turns off. But you don't like this higher temperature, so you return the thermostat to its original setting (by taking a drug like acetaminophen). That causes the cooling system to turn on (sweating), but at first you have both fever and sweating. Only after some time does the temperature decrease, and sweating stops. When, after 4 hours, the drug wears off, the infection may still be there, and the thermostat is raised again…the sequence resumes.

I've got extremley excessive sweaty palms and feet?

Ok, I remember I started getting this when I was about 10, now I'm 19. I've been literally living through 'wet' hell all these years. Now the sweat palms and feet I'm talking about are literally excessive to the point that they drip sweat! Not only is this socially affecting me but also internally, I lose alot of body fluid this way.

I remember when I was young, my GP told me about this condition that there's a fault with a nerve in the chest or palm or something, I don't remember. I also remember once reading online about it and that there's an operation that needs to be done.

BTW, I tried AlCl (antipersperant) it did absolutley nothing, that's how bad my condition is..

Can someone please identify this? There's not point of me going to a doctor where I live because medical services here are crap. I want to know about my condition so I'll go back to the UK for treatment. Thanks! *wipes off wet keyboard*

Is it okay to sweat in an arm cast?

I recently injured my left wrist so the doctor took my x-ray and decided to give me a cast. I never wore a cast before so today my palms were getting sweaty and I can't do anything about it. So I was just wondering will the cast be fine even though it's observing my sweat from my palms? I have to wear the cast for 10 more days. Any ideas or suggestions to how to not sweat from my palms?

Why would Marijuana cause someone to get sweaty cold feet and a tight throat?

I am an avid smoker of about 6 years, smoked several times daily and always enjoyed smoking until about a year ago when I temporarily stopped smoking for two months. (Talking about marijuana in case you missed it)

When I continued smoking again I noticed the high was never the same again, causing me to become somewhat paranoid feeling and anxious the second I smoked, causing my throat to feel tight which then caused anxiety attacks.

I still smoke frequently, I keeping hoping I'll get that happy high again, but it just seems to make me anxious for no specific reason at all, and my feet get ice cold and sweaty, my throat feels tight like I can't swallow properly, and my breathing starts to slow.

Don't mean to put to many details, but what could cause this? Is it possible my body just treats it in a bad way now? I have had chest xrays done in the past and don't have any lung problems. Why would it cause someones throat to feel tight? Could I have possibly grown allergic to it? Is that possible?

Any answers would be very helpful, but please, don't just say stop smoking it as this is obvious.

My temp is at 100.1 is that ok during pre labor?

Feeling a little clammy in my hands and feet today and am at 39 weeks and 2 days pregnant. I have had a headache and a "tummy" ache that comes and goes, pretty sure they are not contractions, but is this something that I should be alerting the doctor of if continued. My temp is at a steady 100.1 is that ok, normal or what?
