My Kitten Wont Stop Help Me

How can I get my 7-month-old kitten to stop biting me? He is loved and has tops to play with but despite a firm "no" every time, he continues to bite.

Original question: How can I get my 7-month-old kitten to stop biting me? He is loved and has tops to play with but despite a firm “no” every time, he continues to bite.He may be upset because he has no thumbs. You cant work a top correctly without thumbs. Maybe he thinks you're rubbing the lack of them in his face? Is it your thumbs he is biting? All kidding aside. Cat have sharp teeth and it hurts when they bite! Try getting a deterrent like Bitter Apple. It tastes awful to cats. I used to have a cat that would chew cords and wires and I was terrified that he would electrocute himself.Have an alternative also, when the cat bites you it will be deterred by the nasty taste and if you also have a toy in its face afterwards that is ok to chew on. Hopefully it will help. Good luck with your kitty! :)

Help my kitten won't stop attacking me!?!?!?

She's probably just playing and testing her boundaries - so she needs you to tell her what the rules are.
Just as when 2 kittens play - if it gets too rough (like she bites you or puts her teeth on your skin at all) you youwl in pain and then ignore her. She will soon learn that teeth on skin is bad and gets no attention. She needs you to teach her how to play nicely and when she crosses the line in a language she understands - so yowl like a kitten in pain. Walk away. If she keeps going for you, hiss at her.
BUT - do give her an outlet for her playing. Keep her entertained with toys (danglers etc) that she is allowed to bite and chew. Don't ever tease her with hands or feet (yes, it can be cute to wiggle your toes and watch her pounce - not so much fun when your adult cat thinks toes are ok to bite) - you have to be consistant with her. Teeth and claws should never be used on you.

If she is snuggling and is kneading you and it hurts, simply lift her foot onto a more suitable place to knead (e.g a jumper or a cushion) - continue th cuddle and let her knead away. She doesn't mean to hurt when she kneads - our skin isnt as tough as a cats.

My 2 month old kitten wont stop crying!!?

Your baby is feeling very insecure and scared. You need to cuddle with him and show him this is his new home. You probably got the food they've been feeding him at the shelter and he will eat when he gets hungry so don't force it. Right now he just needs some TLC to help him get over this big event. Be glad he's not hiding somewhere which is what a lot of kittens do. I'd say he's healthy if he was neutered (spay for boy cats). He would have seen a vet. The SPCA should have given you a vet record and told when he needs to go back. If not call and ask for it.

My kitten wont stop sucking my mole?

I had a kitten without a mother, it sucked on our earlobes because it thought it was it's mothers tit and it would produce milk.

It's very sweet but at the same time very sad because a kitten shouldn't be without it's mother for at least after the first 12 weeks from birth; as it has a lot to learn from its mother.

I would allow it some milk at that time, because it's obviously hungry as it's not been fed for a few hours and isn't used to a meal timetable and of course, it's missing that missing comfort link; it's mother.

Help! My Kitten won't stop biting me in the early morning!?

Your kitten could have been weened to young and may not be intending to bite you, especially if she is mainly attacking your ear or fingers and toes. She may also be trying to set you to her feeding schedule. She is telling you when she wants to be fed. Your cat has picked you for this and is telling you that its your job. Get up a half an hour early and just watch what she does.If she runs to her food bowl then thats what she wants. If she stays on the bed and curls up next to your boyfriend, then you have competition. If she runs to her litter box then you have a picky kitten who wants a spotless litter box. A squirt bottle may help deprogram her, it could also knock you off her favorite persons list. A cat toy like a small stand with a hanging ball on a string may keep her busy in the morning. Just watch her when you get up, you'll figure out what she wants.

My 3 month old kitten won't stop attacking me?

My 3 month old kitten won't stop attacking me?

Help! I have a 3 month old, tabby mixture of some sort, kitten. She will not stop attacking me. She bites very hard and scratches to the point of servere bleeding. My arms and legs are completely torn up. She will even bite my face if I'm not careful. I try to take her off of me and walk away and ignore her, but she comes after me and attacks me 10 times worse. She is sweet when she is really sleepy, but that is it. She has plenty of toys and I try to give them to her when she attacks me but she isn't interested in them, she just continues to attacks me. I can't wear anything but long sleeves and jeans and shoes that cover my whole foot. I'm scared of my own kitten. What can I do?

Please don't say "she's a kitten, she's just playing with you", I've grown up with many kittens and cats my whole life and they would never get this aggressive. Something is not right.

Thank you

Why won't one of my kittens stop screaming?

Runts (assuming he's the runt) sometimes don't get enough to eat, because their bigger, bolder siblings take it all and by the time the runt fights his/her way in, mom's been milked dry.Take the kitten to the vet, and have it checked out. You may have to supplement feed this baby to keep from losing it.

My kitten won't stop playing in her litter box!?!?

As long as she's successfully using the litter box, I wouldn't worry about her playing in it. However, I would try to distract her with other toys. They don't have to be expensive -- try wadded up aluminum foil balls, or brown paper bags. She's probably just bored, and scooping the litter around gives her something to do.

Definitely DON'T take the suggestion to squirt her with water -- she might think that she's not supposed to be in the litter box at all, and may start doing her business outside of the box. It's a little much to ask a 3-month-old kitten to be sophisticated when it comes to her play. Think about it -- even human toddlers have been known to occasionally play with their own poo :)

My new kitten won't stop meowing to be let out of his room, but my resident cat won't stop hissing at him therefore he can't roam the house. How do I ease his anxiety?

Your cat is hissing because it doesn't recognize the kitten, and it will take some time to adjust. Keeping them separated isn't going to do much good, as smelling the kitten through the door and keeping the adult shut off from that room will only make things more difficult.Cats are scent oriented, so your cat will just need some time, which varies from cat to cat.The good news is, cats are very much more bark than bite. They may be dramatic, but don't like confrontation. So your cat may make some nasty sounds, but very little else will come of it. I would watch them when you're home, letting them interact and intervening if necessary, and separate them when you're gone, just to be safe. You may find that the adult quickly fills in a parental role of teaching the kitten manners- or how to be a cat-, which can often look like your cat is being mean. There will be waps on the head and some neck biting, watch that closely though.Feeding time is a great way to get the adult to be more tolerant. It won't feel threatened if it can eat around the newcomer.Try to get them playing in the same room; redirecting aggression constructively means they have potential to get along. Try some cardboard boxes, catnip, and some strings toys and see what happens. Finally, some pheremone therapy is always helpful with anxiety. I would recommend the Feliway plug ins, but they have sprays and collars too, whatever you think will work best.I have been through the exact same thing, just be patient and give the adult love and attention, and let it adjust on its own time.Olliver hated Charlie the first week we got him. I was scared it wouldn't work. But it did, he came around. Now they're brothers.

New 5 week old kitten. won't stop meowing. won't use litter box.. help!?

the Kitten is ONLY 5 weeks old... it's not really ready to be away from Mom and her siblings... Most animals aren't even weaned until 8 weeks.... I know three weeks doesn't sound like much to a human but it's a LOT to a kitten.
She's probably lonely... and about the kitty litter... do yo uhave another cat, or a friend with a cat from whom you can get a bit of poop or a clump of urine? This will really give little kitty the riht idea os WHAT you want her to do AFTER scratching in the litter. Just put a bit in her box and put her in near it. She'll sniff around and see what she's supposed to be doing in the kitter box.
Until she's a little older, you might have to take her to the box and put her in and encourage her to stay until she's done what she needs to do.
Definately take her to the vet if you can... just to be SURE that she's not having trouble digesting the solid food....
I wonder...What happened to Mama Kitty that you ended up with such a young young kitten?
