My Lips Keep Breaking Out

My skin keeps breaking on my lips?

Use carmex lip balm, it healed my lips in two days from that state! :D

Why do I keep getting breakouts on my upper lip?

I don't have any STDs or Herpes or ANYTHING that would cause it. I also stopped using lip products that might be causing it. But nothing has worked. I keep breaking out right along my upper lip and I have no clue why. Even if I don't pop them they always come back and I can never seem to get away from it. Anyone know what's going on? Or what I can do to stop it from hapenning?

Why is my face all of a sudden breaking out so bad? Around my lips, mouth and under my nose. How do I solve and stop this?

It might be an allergy, impetigo, or acne, as well as other conditions. Best thing to do is to see a dermatologist. If it is acne, low dose antibiotic tablets work systemically to help decrease the bacteria in the pores of the skin, one of the main causes of acne besides hormonal influences. You also will get a skin care regimen and spot ointments. Some patients can achieve such good control that they only return every 3 months. Thanks for the A2A

Could kissing my boyfriend cause me to break out around my lips?

Unfortunately, yes; especially if he has oily skin. You should be cleansing your face at least twice a day with a gentle soap (Cetaphil or Neutrogena are great). I'd also suggest a good face-washing after a kissing session! :) You should also be using an astringent (Sea Breeze, etc.) to remove oil from your skin. It would be great if you could get your b/f to also start taking good care of his skin as well. Nature's Remedy (available at WalMart, CVS, WalGreen's, etc.) has formulas for males and females; it consists of a tablet you take twice a day plus an acne cream. It works very well. It sounds like your skin overall isn't in bad shape; if his skin is very bad, or yours gets worse, ProActive is a great product to use. For the record, I don't have any relationship to any of these companies or products. I just know what worked recently for my two teens, and I've started using the ProActive myself just for preventative measures. Even with 40-something-year-old skin, it does wonders. Good luck!

Why am i breaking out in my mustache area?

With the information given, it could be a few things.

It could be a break out of coldsores/herpes if they are more on the borders of your lips. However from what you wrote, it sounds like it isn't.. so hopefully we can rule that out.

You mentioned shaving. You might be getting ingrown hairs there. You might want to try and shaving at a different angle (going down instead of up with the blade (or vice versa))... or you might need to stop shaving there and let yourself grow a mustache.

You could be having an allergic reaction to your shaving cream or soap. Try switching to a shaving cream without aloe or "sensitive" - counter-intuitive I know, but some people react to the aloe or other chemicals.

You have a bacterial skin infection there. Your skin could be colonized by a strain of bacteria causing the breakout. Wash your face gently with a clean washcloth at least twice a day and try to avoid touching it with your fingers. Gently wipe it with hydrogen pyroxide or rubbing alcohol afterwards.

I'm thinking that ingrown hairs might be the most likely, but again, wit the information given, it's hard to tell.

If the condition remains or gets worse, contact your doctor or a dermatologist.

My lips wont stop burning.?

Maybe it's from chapstick or something like that? If you have Benadryl on hand, take some and keep drinking water. I get reactions to a lot of lip stuff, but vaseline is ok for me. I'd definitely try a thin layer of that as well. If it's still going on tomorrow, I'd definitely schedule an appointment with the dermatologist. It could be nothing or a sign of something bigger. Either way, it's worth checking out. The dermatologist can refer you to an allergist if that's the problem or help you figure out what's really going on.

I hope this has helped! If you're looking for ways to manage allergies in the future, check out my blog at theallergista.com

Why do my lips keep on getting dry even though I often drink a lot of water?

I think it may be because of the following reasons,You have been using a lip barrier, not a lip balm. You have used cosmetics that are drying. You keep licking them. You can try Sipping a litre or two of water over the next couple of hours. Not gulping as you’ll just wizzwozz it all out.Try drinking water in this way.Hope this helps.Source:Google

What is the scientific reason that licking one's lips causes them to dry out?

It is due to a process called desiccation. When you lick your lips you leave saliva on them. There are salts and all sorts of other compounds in addition to water in your saliva. The water evaporates leaving those compounds behind. This creates a hygroscopic layer that has a very high concentration gradient between the inside of the cells of your lips, and the outside of their cellular membranes. The difference in the concentration causes the water to leave your cells by diffusion in an attempt to equalize the concentrations, subsequently drying them out and sometimes killing the cells.
