My Lumphocyte Count Is 45

What does low WBC count, High Lymphocyte count and low neutrophil count mean?

Low white Blood Count this is part of the immune system to fight off disease infections and germs.
Neutrophils and Lymphocytes are types of white blood cells. Abnormal low levels of WBC can cause increased risk for infections.Abnormal low levels of neutrophils can be due to leukemia , infection of bone marrow, radiotherapy and medicines. Abnormally high levels of lymphocytes can be due to flu, chicken pox, and some viral and bacterial infection. Some types of leukemia also increase the lymphocy tests. Abnormally high RDW is mesured by MCV vales high levels of RDW and MCV can be due to liver disease, hemolytic anemia and iron deficiency, thalessemia and B12 deficiency (RDW red cell distribution width). Lymphocytosis abnormal increase in the number of lymphocytes (type of white blood cell). Normal count (ALC) of 1.300 to 4.ooo over this indicates lymphocytosis. This Is NOT a DISEASE!!!but a sign of another cause or under lying problem. Could be mononucleosis, influenza, whooping cough. Neutrophil ia a type of mature white blood cell. These work to protect the body from disease and infections by removeing and distroying some types of bacteria, waste, foreigen substances and other cells. They do this by eating these substances. They are the main type white blood cells for this purpose. These are made by the bone marrow. About 50 to 70 percent of white blood cells are neutrophils. If number is lower than 1500 this is knowen as neutropenia this could be leukemia, could also be damaged to bone marrow, also could besystemic lupus or could be hypersplenism. You may have B-cells T-cells and NK-cells iin blood.Flow cytometry is used to find out if CLL is causing the high lymphocyte count it also shows if the CLL is B-cell or T-cell may need more tests this is called immunophenotyping. Many people with CLL feel well and live for years with good health. There is no cure for this, but there are several treatments for this.Treatments slow the pilling up of CLL cells protect people from infections and provide a better health (treatments)
You need to discuss all of this with your doctor and find out what's going on with your WBC and have him/her tell you all the info Any of this COULD be the Problem???? Sorry to read this and do hope you find out why and what.

What does Low WBC count, High Lymphocyte Count and low neutrophil and absolute neutrophil count mean?

Ive been seeing a hematologist for a month now for my low WBC count and I want to make sense of these results because my doctor is very vague in giving me any answers! My total WBC count is 2.6, my neutrophil count is 42 which is low (range: 48-75%) my absolute neutrophil count is 1260L (range: 1500-7800) and my lymphocyte count is high at 45% (range: 17-40%). He had me get an evaluation panel done which he said will break up my WBC and see where the mutation is, what does this mean?? It is a test done by flow cytometry?? PLEASE TRANSLATE IN REGULAR WORDS FOR ME!! I am freaking out and just want some answers..anyone have this? Also, my husband and I have been TTC for 10 months now, with one miscarriage at 11weeks..would this have anything to do with not being able to conceive? Thanks in advance..

Is a lymphocyte count of 1.8 per k/cu mm normal or is that low?

1.8 perk/cu mm falls within the normal range, however it’s important to look at the whole clinical picture and not just a number separated. If a year ago it was 3 times higher, and somebody lost weight, has night sweats or other dangerous signs it can be problematic. However on a random blood test with someone who feels good there might be no problem.

Is a platelet count of 437,000 and a lymphocyte count of 40.8 OK?

This is incomplete data. Age matters. Platelet count is within range. For kids upto 6 years the lymphocytes are normal too. For adults the lymphocytes is good enough. But then total leucocytes count isn't given. Some kinda viral fever or typhoid cause increased lymphocytes count.

Low lymphocyte count, but normal absolute lymphocyte count? High neutrophils, but normal absolute neutrophils?

My bloodwork came back and my lymphocyte count was 13 (normal range is 20-50). but my absolute lymphocyte count was in the normal range, a 1 (normal is 0.8-4). Likewise, my neutrophils were slightly elevated being 82 (normal 45-75). My absolute neutrophils were in the normal range.
Should I be concerned? the rest of my CBC was normal. Thank you

What is the cause of having HIGH LYMPHOCYTE COUNT (45) in Blood?

Hi guys, Thanks for your answers.

Further details :
I feeling tired with slight headache and leg pain. Also i am havng heartburn and nausea after taking food.

i consulted my doctor and he told me nothing to worry and he prescribed some vitamin tablets.

Now i am ffeling good but Heartburn and nausea remains. please suggest me some home remedies

What does a high lymphocyte count in children mean?

Normal lymphocyte count is higher in children than adults. So it may be normal. lymphocyte count can be high in viral infections like flu. If neutrophile, hgb and plt levels are normal (not percentage of neutrophile, the count of neutrophile) then viral infection is more probable. Your doctor will tell you if it is normal or not.

Is a high lymphocyte count a bad sign if all the other values show as normal?

Lets start by stating that docs (should) treat patients, not lab results.Having said that, 42% or 43.7% isn’t worth worrying about. No normal ranges are absolute, we determine them by doing the test in lots of normal people, there won’t be a sharp lower nor upper limit, the result vs number of people having that value will approach the zero asymptotically, so to have a workable definition of “normal range”, we deliberately chose the limit from 2 Standard Deviation below the mean to 2 Standard Deviation above the mean, thus leaving out 2.14% of the lowest normal values, and 2.14% of the highest also normal values. See the illustrations on Robert Niles’ webpage I linked to.I hope you now see why the difference is of no clinical importance to me as a doc. And then there is the standard margin of error in any value obtained. All the best!

Why are one’s lymphocyte cells at 49%?

I dashed my reply off rather hurriedly, and I’d like to expand a bit to make it clearer.Among various laboratory tests you can have done is the CBC - Complete Blood Cell Count. Included in the data in a CBC are quantitations of the red blood cells and various types of white blood cells. The units are usually the number of that type of cell in a micro-liter of your blood. These counts are usually presented in two ways. A percent of your total white blood cells or as an absolute count. This is like having an aquarium and quantitating your fish. You could say you have 12 black mollies (absolute count) or you could say that half of your fish are black mollies (50%).At the hospital where I work, the normal range (more properly called the “reference range” these days) for total white blood cells is 4,800 to 10,800 WBCs of all types per one micro-liter of blood. The range for lymphocytes is 900 to 4,500 per micro-liter. So, is 49% lymphocytes normal or not?It depends entirely on the total white cell count. If your total white count is elevated - say 20,000 - then 49% of that is 20,000 X 0.49 or 9,800 absolute. Indeed, it is a truly elevated lymphocyte count. If your white count is normal - say 8,000 - then 8,000 X 0.49 is an absolute count of 3,920 which is in the normal range. If your total white count is low - say 1,000 - then 1,000 X 0.49 is 490 which really is a reduced absolute lymphocyte count.I hope you can see from this that just saying “my lymphocytes are 49%” is uninterpretable. The cell type percent is really obsolete and can be confusing. You should always look at the absolute counts. Why are percents still on the reports? Because doctors are very conservative and convincing an old doctor to change report formats is pretty much impossible. One last - and more important - point. DON’T GO ON SOCIAL MEDIA SITES FOR MEDICAL ADVICE! You need to see a doctor who will hopefully take a proper medical history and perform a proper physical exam. If she thinks it is necessary, she will order additional testing as appropriate. No matter how much medical expertise someone on sites like Quora may have, they haven’t got your history and physical and they can’t make a proper diagnosis without it.
