My Parakeet Is Always Puffy And She Sometimes Throws Up Her Seeds What Does This Mean

If I die alone at home, how many hours or days will pass until my pet dog, cat or bird eats me?

This is a cringeworthy answer, along with something I’m mortified to share, but I believe it’s very on point to your question, so here goes.I’m home full time as I was disabled due to an accident I suffered a couple years ago. To make myself useful, I started rescuing and rehabilitating dogs. Let’s be clear, dogs are animals. One more time, dogs are animals.I am female, and other than scars and aches, I’m otherwise healthy, and I menstruate. However, when I do, I dispose of all used feminine products by wrapping the offending product in tissue, putting it in a doggie Poo bag, tying it closed in a knot, and putting it in a trash can with a lid. It helps keep things much cleaner that way.One day, my sweet little runt, Pip came running out of my bathroom full speed, jumping on the furniture, and doing full speed laps around my living room.I caught him, he growled at me, and sped away. I noticed he had something in his mouth. I went to catch him, and my sweet 7lb dog showed teeth, growled, and the fur on the back of his neck stood straight up. ““You nasty little bastard! What do you have?” He tried to run again, and I said “Hey!” In my command voice. “Stop! Drop it NOW.” He stopped and rolled onto his back, mouth clamped around his treasure. I pried his little mouth open, and what did I find? My used tampon! I was mortified. He tried to jump and take it away from me, still wanting it so badly. To him, it was blood, his animal instinct took over, like any dog who found a delicious bone to chew on. He would not give it up willingly, and as an animal how is he supposed to know where the boundaries of decency are? Based on that, I do believe if someone died, the animal very well may see the deceased as a huge delicious slab of meat to feast on, regardless of who the person is. Unless Mother Nature instilled in dogs the instinct to not eat their leaders, I do believe that dogs will eat the carcass of their handlers. My dog seeking out and feasting on my dirty tampon confirms my suspicion.Behold… the little thief…

Why wont my parakeet play on his toys?

I bought a new parakeet 17 days ago and he never plays with his toys. He has a ladder, rings, a bell, mirrors, 3 wood perches, a rope perch, a spray millet holder, a swing, and food/water dishes. Does he not have not enough of something or too much of something? Please tell me what i need to do. He only goes on 2 of his wooden perches and sometimes his rope and he eats in front of me. Also he get freaked out when i stick my hand slowly in the cage. I do keep my hand in the cage for a half hour or so because i read that's a good way to get them to trust you. Please help.

Is my budgie gravid(pregnant)?

hey yeah moggie is right, and I'm not going to tell you off but there are articles that say using a cardboard nest box is actually better for the birds because cleaning out an already used nestbox if hard because bacteria can live in them for years. A carboard one is good for a temporary nestbox and when your finished you can just throw it away. when you get your proper nestbox, make sure it has a dip in it so that is where the female will lay her eggs and this will also stop them from rolling away. if you look at her bum you will see that it will be open, so no feathers are covering it, and it will look like its pusling. If she is about to lay an egg her bum should look like this. Don't give them too much nutrients, I know it sounds silly but if thye have too many minerals their babies will not grow properly as they will have taken in too many vitamins etc from the supplements your have given.
Broccoli is good, keep giving them that, especially if thye love it because the female will lose alot of clcium when she lays an egg from the development of the egg shell. Also the liquid calcium, please don't put it in their water as when mating the budgies will drink alot of water and this will also cause the babies not to develope properly, it is probably best to put it in the food as they won't be overloaded with too much minerals.
The only reason your budgie may be breeding at this time of year is due to the fact that if they are inside, it wil be a little warmer and also because of artificial light the budgies may well get confused and so then start to breed, if you don't want this to happen at the wrong time of the year just ensure you place them in a cool room, not too cold and cover them up/switch the lights off at around 5 or 6ish, that way they will know it is not breeding season.
Good luck with the baby budgies xx
