My Piercing Got Infected

Is my nose piercing infected?

EDIT: First of all, dont listen to the person above me. NEVER EVER use rubbing alcohol or peroxide for ANY piercing. Ever. It irritates the crap out of it and dries it up.
Yes,its STARTING to get infected. Mine did the exact same thing right before it got infected. (I had accidentally torn it a bit from getting it snagged on my shirt) Take it out and change it back to the original one RIGHT AWAY. And go out and buy some SEA salt, preferably Morton brand. Clean your nose on the inside and outside 2-3 times a day and it should be better within a week. Hope I helped and good luck! Also, dont change the piercing for AT LEAST 3 months.

Ear piercing got infected?

So, six weeks ago, I got my ears pierced. I never really wanted to before, cuz it was just an ear piercing, everyone has their ears pierced... But I did it anyway, just to get something pierced, and now my left piercing is infected. It's all crusty and gross in the back (*gags*). I couldn't get the studs out, so I had to go back to where I got them pierced, and they took them out. Then the rest of the day I went without my studs in, and when I went to put in the new ones that I bought, they wouldn't go through. So I took the studs and shoved them through, but now it's just like I re-pierced them. What should I do? Should I just keep cleaning them and wait it out for another six weeks, like I just got them done? Is there anything I should do for the infection (besides clean them)??
By the way, I know they're infected because the person at the store told me they were. I'm leaving the backs off of my studs, because they're easier to clean and the backs won't get stuck again.
But do you think I could start changing them now anyway, or should I wait?

Is my lip piercing infected?

The lip certainly swells up a competent bit in the time of the 1st week to week and a nil.5, and because you have gotten the two completed on the comparable time, the swelling could be somewhat worse than getting basically one. As for the bruise, some human beings basically bruise unquestionably, although that is going to likely be no longer something to get worked up over. an infection, nevertheless? I also have a feeling that it's not. You point out that it's not liquid. Does it look like white/clearish epidermis comparable on your inner lip? if so, that is better than probable the fistula, the unquestionably healed/healing hollow, attempting to form. What did you get pierced with - a labret stud or ring? i spotted greater of the white epidermis and inflammation as quickly as I used a ring, although that is distinctive for honestly everyone. regardless of you do, nevertheless, do no longer take the jewelry out. whether that is contaminated, you do no longer choose an abscess forming because of it having nowhere to empty. I advise happening your piercer to have it regarded at interior of right here couple of days if it would not get any better. they often be attentive to what they're speaking approximately.

Is my ear piercing infected?

I got my ears pierced and it's the same process. I got my ears itching and swollen up the next morning. I let it be on, only to remove that night owing to no signs of healing. But it was just a week for me. My friends say, it took them a month to heal. Some say, when pieced on nerves, it'll never heal at all. But my personal advice is, don't go for gunshots. They take hell loads of time to heal. Use a needle instead.

As for this, leave it on for a couple of more days. If it's fine, leave it as such. Else, ask your doc what can be done. Perhaps, some ointment. If nothing works, take it off.

Will my nose piercing get infected?

Mine did a similar component a pair months when I had it pierced. Peroxide is extremely undesirable for it. attempt heat water with dissolved sea salt. yet once you're taking it out for a type of minutes it is going to in all probability p.c. up. (mine closed in an hour and a nil.5.) additionally, i don't recognize if it is okay for a nostril piercing or no longer yet my boyfriend used polysporin for his eyebrow and the an infection went away super rapidly.

Is my cartilage piercing infected ?

its irritated and possibly swollen. I did this with my cartilage piercing (omg, hurt so bad) keep cleaning it as usual, never touch it unless your hands are washed. and you should rotate it (i know it hurts, but you have to) honestly, I just took tylenol for my pain & put an ice pack on it (honestly, it helps)♥ It will get better as the days go by. where you hit it, its going to be very tender and irritated and possibly alittle swollen♥

also, with my cartilage I would get strands of my hair "wrapped" around the piercing (on the back) and that irritated my piercing after I got it done (I have long hair) So check in the mirror and see if you have any "hair" wrapped or tangled around your piercing--that will only further aggaravate it♥

if it were infected you would get 'dry goo' around your piercing and sometimes, if you squeeze the area around the piercing, white pus will come out. so beware of 'dry goo' around your piercing jewelry. that means its infected♥

Firstly check with a professional piercer. Most of the times what you believe is an Infection is just an irritation due to wrong aftercare or some other source.Doctors and parents and others will insist it is infected.A good piercer will know the difference. If it is truly infected then you must have it removed and see a doctor. If it's just irritated and secreting pus or discharge then a piercer will be able to fix it.Don't always believe everyone when they mention it is infected. Most properly infected piercings have:Green pus or dischargeIncredible painA rashIf it doesn't have these things it is most likely NOT infected and just needs some looking at or cleaning.

Is my pierced ear infected?

I had this problem the first time I got my ears pierced and I never understood why I couldn't wear earrings, but my friends could. I later found out that the reason they were so irritated and painful was because I was allergic to cheap metals like nickel and sterling silver.

If this is the case for you, try buying some earrings that are surgical steel or titanium. The best places to find these are places like Spencer's and Hot Topic. Places like Walmart and Claire's typically have the cheap jewelry.

Otherwise, clean them with dial soap or a salt water solution very thoroughly, being sure to rotate them often. Don't touch them with dirty fingers or tug on them. If this doesn't work, I would suggest making a visit to your local piercer for professional advice. Good luck!

It depends on the severity of the infection. First off, an infection is not always the piercer's fault. In fact, it may not be the piercee's fault either. Your body is wearing something it is not used to. The metal could be the cause of the infection or even just a simple little impurity that got inside. Regardless, signs of knowing you have an infection are...Discharge from the piercing site. Some yellow or white are not bad colors! That can just be your body secreting this liquid which is lymph. This means it is healing! Burning sensation that is most likely due to an allergic reaction to the jewelry.Swelling, redness, and tenderness. Pain and aching.Abscess or bumps.Bleeding.For more severe cases, fever, headache, nausea, and vomiting. To treat an infection is pretty simple. First do not remove your jewelry. Actually, don't even touch it! Keep doing sea salt soaks daily. If the problem persists then talk to your piercer again, before you contact a doctor. If you feel your situation needs medical help, then I would recommend seeking a doctor. Hope this helps!
