My Purple Hair Turned Burgundy How To Fix

My hair was purple and I died it with a blonde dye but it turned a teal/green color. What should I do?

You have to remember the color wheel when working with hair color. If you mix purple with yellow what do you get? Purple has a lot of blue in it so it’s logical you get green. So you need to look at the opposite on the color wheel. You need to add orange. In hair color that means a warm (red) based brown or darker blonde.

If I put burgundy hair dye over my dark green hair would it turn out ok?

I used the special effects iguana green hair dye. It's like a darker green.
I wanted to dye it a burgundy red/brown color so i can get a job. will it work? and if not how can i make it work?

How do I get purple out of my dyed hair?

If you try to bleach it out, it might turn green. Trust me. The way I did it, I fade it as much as I can with shampoos that aren't color treated hair friendly, try to remove them with crushed vitamin C, and if nothing works, I'll resort to bleach. And if it turns green, I dyed red over it because red counters green in the color wheel.

How do I get burgundy dye out of hair?

Go to a professional like Karen Tiede suggested. You have now learned (I hope) the importance of thoroughly reading and understanding what dye you are using on your hair. Box dyes have a color chart on the side to indicate what color the hair is supposed to turn out on your current hair color, though most people seem to ignore such a color chart, as well as directions and warnings.Take the box from the dye with you when you go to the professional, so they know what exactly they are dealing with, and tell the colorist what you want. The service you are looking for is called a “color correction.” Usually such a process can cost, but if you want your hair fixed without major damage or breakage or loss of hair, you need a professional to fix it. Don’t be surprised if your color correction costs as much if not more than a professional coloring would have in the first place.Or you can just let time and regular shampooing take their effect to fade it. But most burgundies have a blue/purple undertone, which doesn’t translate or fade to a red/ginger color. So even if you did fade the burgundy some, you won’t end up with a red/ginger color. Hence why you need professional help.

Hair disaster. Dyed burgundy hair didn't turn out right?

since they are two different colors now, you will have to go by the color of the hair instead of trying to purchase the same color for both. In my opinion, you need to go to an experienced hair stylist to have them fix it for you. I would hate for you to do it yourself and it gets worse. and if money is the issue as to why you dont want to go to a salon.. just go to a shop and and ask a stylist for their advice

Best wishes

How do I retouch burgundy hair?

The hair colour industry has came a long way over the years. Not only is it possible to colour your hair with ease and far less damage than in the past, but every colour of the rainbow is at your disposal, with the most recent trend in hair colour fashion leaning towards vibrant and adventurous fashion shades.

Fashion shades include vibrant reds, coppers, pastel blondes, and intense violet shades. Due to the nature of these shades and the intensity of the tones involved, fading can be a major problem, causing your dramatic new burgundy to turn dull and flat in a couple of weeks after leaving the salon. With burgundy hair and any fashion shade it's important to take measures to prevent and reverse fading to keep your hair looking its best between dyes.

How can I turn my hot pink hair into a deep burgundy shade?

So I decided I would try to dye my hair to a nice deep red color with splat hair dye (crimson obsession) my natural hair color is a sort of dark brown color so I bleached my hair then put the color in and then blow dried my hair and it turned a hot pink sort of color and I hate it well it doesn't look to bad but I was going for a more burgundy shade instead of pink so I have this burgundy hair color I would like to try its by Revlon colorsilk in shade 48 but I'm scared to try to dye my hair the burgundy color sooooo... Any advice? Please help me

How do you get rid of purple hair dye after the color has faded in your hair?

Ah! I've been there myself! Lol. As these beautiful fashion colors are a direct dye, they are heavily loaded with pigment. If you applied it to bleached hair (which is what creates those beautiful vibrant colors!) time is the best way. You could try a few shampoos with Dawn,as that is alkaline and MAY lift it a bit. Vinegar is actually acidic, and CLOSES the cuticle. These colors are not permanent, and will completely fade with time! I,however, faded from purple,to lavender, then my blonde looked slightly silver, then it was gone! So unless you want to go back to purple, just be patient,my friend!

Can purple shampoo turn your hair purple if left on for too long?

Not quite purple-purple, but it can add a bit of a lavender hue if applied to white hair, left on for too long, and used too often. If you simply use it on blonde hair to tone down the brassiness, then you will likely never see even a hint of purple, even if you don’t use as directed. However, any shampoo left on for too long won’t have the best results for your hair, so just follow the manufacturer’s directions. Now, look, if it says to leave it on for 2 and you do 5, that is not a big deal, but I would never suggest you leave a shampoo on for, say, half an hour, or worse, overnight. Same goes for conditioner. More is definitely not better.
