My Rear Wheels Make A Terrible Noise.

Do good skateboard wheels make a smooth sound or a loud noise?

i have a crap deck skateboard the trucks are a little rusty. But the wheels are amazing. they are like rubber and it makes a smooth sound and every time i ride it it feels very smooth too. my friend has a skateboard too but his wheels are really hard and it feels like plastic when you touch them. and also it makes more noise. and every time we race we draw! whoes wheels are better?

Why does my car make a squeaking noise only in reverse from the rear wheels?

Best bet without knowing any specifics is perhaps brake adjustment on the back wheels. Most cars since the seventies at least have automatic brake adjusters, some of which operate when the car reverses. This could possibly be bringing the unworn trailing edge of the brake lining into contact with the drum. The polished part of the brake lining rubbing on the also polished drum can squeak. This could also happen with rear disk brakes, as they are not applied as heavily as the front and when you reverse, the pads tip very slightly in contact with the disc and again squeak.Front disc brakes often develop a squeal when applied if the driver doesn’t use the brakes heavily and the discs and pads polish up. Some dishonest garages will spend a lot of your money fitting new stuff that isn’t necessary, though it’s important to distinguish between the squeal of glazed pads and the sound of metal on metal or a wear warning spring. With polished (glazed) pads, we just drove along a quiet piece of road in low gear for a hundred yards or so with the footbrake pressed to take the glaze off. You could try the same on an open piece of ground in reverse to see if that makes any difference. Driving at road speed along a quiet highway and hitting the brakes hard several times would perhaps make a difference. If all else fails, take it to a reputable garage. I’d advise against amateur brake repair. A repair bill is preferable to a potentially serious accident.Footnote: A car front wheel covered in black dust is a sign of a heavy brake user (repair shop cash cow). And if the brakes are being abused, it’s probable that the rest of the car is too.

What can be making the noise on the rear wheel of my 50cc Cool Sport Scooter?

I am sorry to hear you are having problems with this scooter. I assume you purchased this as an economical transportation for yourself. You may be dollars ahead if you were to get the bike running and then sell it to someone else. This type of "china-scoot" is more of a hobby than transportation in that it requires that you fix it on a regular basis, typically because you enjoy working on them.

If you want a scooter for transportation, buy a small, used Honda, Yamaha or Kymco scooter. You can find used ones that will provide you with years of reliable service Check you local craigslist.com site and stop giving the local crook dealer your money. You can get a good scoot for about $800 - $1000.

If you are need to stick it out, the ScootDawg website is a good place to ask questions. They seem to have a good guide on servicing the type of scooter you have. It is a 12 dollar download but based on the sample page, it may provide you the type of help you need. Nearly all of the china-scoots on the market today are of the GY6 type and are made by the same chinese compnies but have different brand names and "plastics"

How far can I drive with a bad wheel bearing?

Main thing is - get it fixed PDQ (pretty darn quick). Driving with a bad wheel bearing can cause the axle/hub/spindle to weld itself from friction and heat causing the wheel to lock up and spin you out. More likely, the metal will wear away from the friction and the wheel/hub will become loose. If the affected wheel has a disc brake, the brake caliper and rotor might hold the wheel onto the axle for a while, but will eventually fail too.I drove a car I had just bought in a different state about 2,000 miles (3,200 Km) to get back home. The front wheel bearings were whining the whole time, but the wheels were still fairly tight (negligible play). One of the first things I ordered upon arriving home was a new set of wheel bearings. If you jack up the vehicle and there is any play (i.e.: slackness or wiggle) in the affected wheel(s), don't drive the vehicle because you might just get overtaken by your own wheel (no longer attached to & supporting the vehicle) while driving down the road. Any play in the wheel could also be caused by worn suspension and/or steering components which should also be replaced PDQ (and a wheel alignment done post repair). Again, this could cause a wheel to come out from under the vehicle and/or point in a different direction and cause you to have a wreck.Get it fixed posthaste.<><

Bad creaking noise from rear of 2003 Sebring?

Just bought a 2003 Sebring LXI (40K miles). Of course, I test drove it under warm conditions so I wasn't aware of this problem until several days later. When it's cold out, I get a really loud creaking noise from the rear of the car. This happens when I exit the dip at the end of my driveway or go over speed bumps. I shot some WD-40 all over the rubber bushings and other moving parts but it didn't help. Any idea what the problem is? Someone told me to use a grease gun on the ball joint nipples. But do these cars even have grease fittings or are they self-contained? Sucks to have the car less than a week and it making such a horrendous noise. And I hate to cough up big bucks to fix something I just drove off a lot. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thanks...

I can't get the drivers side rear wheel off my 2000 Honda Accord?

It is really easy to remedy get a sledge hammer and jack up the rear of your car and from under your car hit the tire not the rim just the tire a few times in one spot and turn the tire about a 1/2 a turn and hit it again keep doing it and it will come off it might take a few times but it will. It is a fairly common problem sometimes rust will form on the middle of the rim where it seats on the hub and it will cause it to stick now the easy fix is when you get the wheel off and get everything fixed and before you put it back on get some antisieze and put it around the hub where the rim sits and it will come right off next time

Why is the car making grinding noises in the wheel? It stops when I press the brake slightly.

When you start hearing an unusual grinding noise coming from under your vehicle, you know it’s time to pay attention. Grinding noises are associated with rotating parts and rotating systems. Any part or system that rotates can cause grinding. If your car starts making grinding noises, don’t wait to get it checked out, get it taken care of before it turns into a bigger issue.

Whats the noise coming from my rear end on my 1998 mustang sounds like grinding but not as loud?

It could be something from the rear diff., it could be your rear end gears...or a wheel bearing could be going bad (had two go out on my 2000 gt).
