My Skin Has Always Been Super Oily But I Never Had Acne

My face is always oily in the morning even though I wash it the night before?

Lots of people have naturally oily skin. It is normal for your face to be oily in the morning, or several hours after washing. You may want to try a cleanser that is specifically for oily skin.

Try these tips:
1. Stick with the basics: The experts suggest cleansing your face two or three times daily with good old soap and water. Pack a premoistened cleansing pad if you won't be around a water basin throughout the day.

2. Understand that dermatologists and aestheticians often disagree on which types of soaps or cleansers to use, but all agree that once you find a product that works well for your skin, you should continue using it.

3. Follow the recommendations of dermatologists and shower or bathe in tepid rather than steaming-hot water. Hot water can strip your skin of needed moisture, while cold water can shock your skin.

4. Avoid using cleansers that tend to overdry skin. This paradoxically causes your skin to produce even more oil than usual.

5. Use only noncomedogenic moisturizers and sunscreen products - this means they're oil-free and won't clog pores.

6. Talk to your dermatologist about a class of drugs called retinoids, which reduce production in oil glands and shrink their size.

7. Keep in mind that oil glands are very sensitive; stimuli such as hormones, heat and (some say) fatty food can trigger them.

8. Remember that your efforts to keep your oily skin clear can only go so far, as some studies indicate that oily skin is hereditary.

Tips from "How to Care for Oily Skin" http://www.ehow.com/how_13738_care-oily-...

Anyone with acne/oily skin, try this! I went from severe to clear and super oily to normal FAST & natually?

Sorry, I know this isn't a question. But this is so amazing, and I just wanted to post it here where I know a lot of people would probably read it.

I have severe acne and extremely oily skin. Well, I did a month ago, anyway. I recently got on an all-natural regimen that totally cleared up my acne AND majorly reduced oil production. It's so awesome. Here is what I do.

I wash my face with Tea Tree Face Wash.

As a toner I use a mixture of 1/3 natural, 100% Green Tea (which I brewed myself with a tea bag and let cool before adding ACV) and 2/3 Apple Cider Vinegar. This stuff is the best!!! It totally transformed my skin.

And then as a spot treatment, I apply 100% undiluted Apple Cider Vinegar. It works WAY better than Benzoyl 10% or any over the counter product. Even if I have a really large zit, it's FLAT by the morning when I apply this rub this in at night. I use cosmetic pads for the toner and spot treatment.

And that's it. I also drink the Apple Cider Vinegar, 3 Tablespoons a day, and take acidophilus with every meal to keep my digestion and intestines healthy, which helps acne a lot. (As a bonus, it fights against and prevents UTIs and yeast infections, which is great for women, especially pregnant women. I actually got a couple of UTIs and yeast infections since becoming pregnant - I'm seven months now- but after I started taking the ACV and acidophilus, I haven't had a single one.)

The ACV that I use, and seems to be the best out there, is Bragg's Organic Apple Cider Vinegar "with mother".

Why am I suddenly breaking out and how do I get my perfect skin back? I have never had this problem, and neither did my parents.

Drink more water, seltzer, coconut water, herbal tea, green juices, anything but sugary soda and booze. Have you been exercising? If now you might want to start. Working up a good sweat at least 3 times a week helps oxygenate and cleanse the pores. The benzoyl peroxide in the Duac is drying up your pimples but also drying out your complexion so your skin overcompensates by making more oil, which then clogs your pores. Try skipping the antibiotics and all pharmaceutical remedies for two to four weeks. Take probiotics instead, Natren Bifidofactor is a good one. If you can't find that brand make sure whatever you do buy is refrigerated in the store and at home. Eat full fat yogurt with live cultures, kim chee or sauerkraut, any fermented foods are loaded with probiotics. And drink kombucha or kefir. Use a gentle cleanser with a Clarisonic machine if you have one. Always tone your skin after cleansing. I like Thayer's Witch Hazel for every day and Glycolix pre-moistened pads with salicylic acid Amazon.com: Glycolix Elite Gly-Sal 10 Percent-2 Percent Pads 60 count: Beauty. Salicylic acid is a miracle anti-inflamatory, also known as aspirin. Glycolix also makes a 20% glycolic acid product without salicylic acid that I use every day, but you'll probably have to work up to that strength. Finally, and this is the most important piece of the fix-your-complexion story, moisturize with pure organic essential oil, any blend of almond, jojoba, argan, sunflower, rosehip, and/or evening primrose will do. Do not use creams. Don't smoke cigarettes. Ever. The smoke and chemicals in cigarettes rob your skin of oxygen. Same is true for second hand smoke. Do not eat greasy junk food.Avoid red meat.Eat loads of green leafy vegetables and brightly colored berries.Avoid dairy, (except full-fat yogurt) drink soy or almond milk instead.Try to get more sleep, especially if you're stressed at school.

Why is my skin oily when I quit smoking?

I don't have the full scientific answer, but this is how it was explained to me. Firstly smoking damages your skin, the body is used to having to "over-oil" your skin just to stop it from drying out completely Also your body is trying to push all of the toxins that build up under the skin out of your body - you may find you get more spots as well for a while. I did. But after a couple of weeks it will die down unless you have naturally greasy skin. If you are having problems I would go to a make up counter, and ask if they think you have combination or oily skin and they will be able to reccomend cleansers, toners and moisturisers that will keep your skin in check. But its worth it - once you've been off the ciggies for a while, your skin will be so much better in the future! Hope this helps.

Painful Cystic Acne?

So, ever since I hit puberty, I ve struggled with acne, dry patches and super oily skin. But in the past year or so, it has become unmanageable. I struggle a lot with cystic acne that is painful, and sensitive, red and textured skin. I wash and moisturize my face daily and use spot treatment every other day. But when I eliminate one spot of acne it just shows up elsewhere. I really want to enjoy wearing makeup but everything breaks me out (even foundation for people with acne) and worsens my cystic acne. And even when I wear full coverage foundation and concealer you can still see the acne underneath and the texture of my skin so it always looks cakey and bumpy. I do exfoliate the dead skin patches and use primer beforehand. Basically, I need some advice on how to manage my skin and what foundation would work best for me. Thanks!!

Getting acne all of the sudden?

I am a 17 year old girl and I have never had acne in the past, I have always had super clear skin even during the brunt of puberty. Now all the sudden I am having all these issues with my skin! I have blackheads on my nose, and im getting these bumps on my forehead. They aren't really pimples but they look like the will turn into pimples. I have no idea how to get rid of this. Any ideas? Any tips to clear skin? I have combination skin with an oily nose and the rest of my skin is pretty dry.
