Special Forces and Hypothyroidism?

Well, I wanted to join the Navy SEALs but found out recently I have hypothyroidism. I read a lot about it online and found that it a dis-qualifier for the SEALs (to my knowledge anyway). My question is: are there any special forces that would allow such condition...if it could be controlled by meds? It's been a dream of mine to be in SF since I was little, I would hate to give up on that because of this.

Can you be in Army special forces and also JAG Corps?

Nope. It would be too much work for one person to be both a lawyer and a operator. Being one or the other is an accomplishment in itself that takes years of preparation.

Special Forces Training or OCS after College?

So, I have graduated college in the past May. And moved back home with my parents. I started working at a gun shop here after trying several different jobs. Many of the workers at this place are retired or active military. I am the only one that seems to not be in the military. One of the guys there is a Combat Controller in the Air Force. They always give me crap for not goin into the military. It has always been my dream to be in the Special Forces. But I can't figure out why?? I graduated from school with a history degree, in other words I sat through school, but was never really interested. I want a job that is adventorous. THe dude at work who is a combat controller is alright, and all he talks about is going back to Iraq. I am not sure if I agree with the war. But they always talk about honor and duty to your country to counter the argument of the U.S. being there for oil. The controller seems alright but I get the hint sometimes he isn't all there, like there is a screw loose or something. I thought special forces were on top of there stuff and professional. Anyway does anyone have any suggestions about the Special Forces or OCS. Most all of the guys there say don't go in as a officer, people won't respect you. Better to go enlisted. I am not sure if I want to give my life for my country right at this moment especially in some desert. Does anyone have any suggestions about being mentally tough to go through Special Forces. I am academically tough, but I never enjoyed team sports in high school except for golf and soccer. Any suggestions on adventourous jobs or information on OCS or Special Forces in any of the branches of military. I have a degree and I wouldn't want to be killed after my parents paid for me to go to school. But I have a serious urge to serve my country in some way. I think the idea of special forces appeals to me because no messes with them and that would be nice to earn. I am 24, and seriously considering, I would appreciate any advice.

Men apart, every man an emperorPara is a special forces unit of the Indian Army’s Parachute Regiment and one of the best special force unit we have in India.A Para SF soldier is identified by Maroon Beret, shoulder titles, and the "Balidaan" badge. Some enter the Para regiments fresh from recruitment, while others transfer in from regular army units.Pre Commission - Volunteer GCs from IMA/OTA will be commissioned at the scale of two officers per battalion per year. These officers will be allotted a parent regiment by MS Branch.Post Commission - Officers from all Arms and Services can volunteer for the Parachute Regiment subject to them having less than five years service on the day they volunteer, being in medical category SHAPE-I and being graded ‘EXCELLENT’ in BPET. These officers will retain their affiliated to their Regiment/Corps (as parent regiment). The intense selection procedure -The volunteered officers are put through a probationary period/selection process of three months for Paratroopers (Airborne) Battalions (5,6,7) and six months for Para (Special Forces) battalions (1,2,3,4,9,10,11,12,21 PARA), in order to be a Para (Special Forces) all personnel are first required to qualify as Paratroopers.Once selected the candidates may choose to advance to the SF selection, which takes place twice a year in the spring and the autumn term. It is one of the longest and toughest training regimens in world where the applicant is exposed to sleep deprivation, humiliation, exhaustion, and mental and physical torture. Deaths have been reported during this selection process. The attrition rate is very high, and selection rarely exceeds 10 percent.Even though a candidate may have cleared selection, he is not formally inducted into the regiment until completion of the balidan padhwhere, after training, a candidate is involved in active operations in a hostile zone for a year. Provided the candidate survives the balidan padh, he is given the balidan badge and formally inducted into the regiment.Thank you for reading!
