My Stomach Growls All The Time Why

My stomach growls all the time ! why?

I know what your going to say . Im hungry ! But that is not the case . My stomach does alot of rumbling and grumbling when ive eaten & when i havnt . In morning noon & through the night . I have a new boyfriend who i do have sex with (unprotected) and his stomach does the same exact thing so i thought maybe he gave me something i went and got tested and everything came back negative . And recently i had diarrhea for about 2 weeks straight last month so i went to my doc and she did specimen samples and blood work . My blood results say that things look good im still waiting on my specimen results. When i poop it sometimes rushes out but in its normal shape and form not like diarrhea anymore and in the afternoon if i poop i have to push to get out . Sometimes its followed by this thick looking brownish or yellow mucus and a little blood when i wipe . My anus isnt itchy but sometimes it can be after a big bowel movement . What could be going on ?( im a 18 year old female)

Should you eat if your stomach growls?

As long as you’re not actually starving yourself, nothing bad happens if you don’t eat when your stomach growls.Your stomach growls because there’s not much in it but a few gas bubbles and a bit of fluid, so when it contracts, as it naturally does to move food along, it makes a gurgling sound. Your stomach spends most of its time mostly empty; after a meal, it churns up your food and passes it along to the small intestine, emptying itself little by little. But even after your stomach is empty, there’s still food in your small intestine. You’re still digesting food, still absorbing nutrients. After that’s done, you have stored glycogen to release for energy, and after that you have stored body fat. Once your body starts to dip into energy stores, it’ll also slow your metabolism down some in order to conserve energy. But by then, you’ll have had your sleep and be ready for breakfast. The only thing a growling stomach means is that your stomach is empty; it doesn’t mean you need to eat right then. Waiting until morning to eat your next meal is fine. If you don’t like the sensation of having an empty stomach, it’s also reasonable to eat a light snack around eight or nine o’clock—maybe a piece of fruit or a handful of nuts or a granola bar or something like that.

My stomach growls ALL the time..any ideas?

oh dear..this is pretty interesting. but i think i may have an answer for you!!

Everyone's stomach growls, some growl more than others. (you being exhibit A =D) The growls, technically called borborygmi (pronounced BOR-boh-RIG-mee), are caused primarily by contractions of the muscles of the stomach and small intestine and, to a lesser extent, by contractions of the muscles of the large intestine (colon).

That was a little background info in case you were wondering. Anyways, sometimes, there is not explanation for your stomach growling. My father, who is a doctor, had a friend whose daughter had the same symptoms as you. She was healthy, which I'm assuming you are too. My father was able to solve the problem by giving her a teaspoon of olive oil with her breakfast. (Fatty acids that are released from the digestion of fat and oils in the intestine are potent blockers of intestinal contractions. The olive oil reduced her stomach growling by reducing the strength of her intestinal contractions.) I know swallowing olive oil by itself may not sound too appealing, but if you've been suffering from this for two years, I'm guessing you're willing to give almost anything a try. GOOD LUCK!

Oh, and based on your information, I doubt you have an eating disorder. I'm quite thin myself, and people always joke around about anorexia. Gosh, they should give us naturally skinny people a break!! =)

Hope this helps!

WHY does my stomach always growl?

It's humiliating. It always growls. Before I eat, after I eat.. it growls in the morning, afternoon, and at night. It growls EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm trying to lay down with my boyfriend and it's humiliating and I hate it. I eat enough, trust me. My dad says he has a noisy stomach but I can't see how this could be genetic. What can I do? I'll do anything to make my stomach stop growling all the time. Everytime I feel awkward, it growls. Everytime I'm uncomfortable, it growls. I can't possibly digesting food all day long, so why does it always growl?

My stomach always growls?

I do have IBS, but I also get serious hunger pains/loud growling. Embarrassing in the middle of a test in class. I finally figured it out in high school: I need to eat all the time. I am skinny too (105 lbs) and I need to eat every 2 hours or I get faint and hungry. In school, I snack in classes where the professor doesn't mind (usually something healthy like almonds, granola or sliced fruit), and eat a little bigger between classes, like a turkey sandwich or pasta. I keep a water bottle on me constantly, and an sure to eat big if I know its going to be awhile before I get a chance to eat again. I have food on me all the time.

To make sure you keep it healthy, do NOT buy unhealthy foods, or that's what you will bring with you. I keep yogurt, almonds, healthy granola, fruit, pretzels and other snacks on hand. Be sure to eat healthy meals as well. Try eating more protein at meals to hold you over longer.

I eat, and my stomach growls. I don’t eat, and my stomach growls. I only eat a little bit, my stomach growls. And if I eat a lot, my stomach growls. It’s really embarrassing. How can I prevent my stomach growling?

It is air moving in your gut that produces the growling. We swallow air all the time when we eat and drink, and digestion produces quite a bit of gas. There isn’t much you can do to stop it, but be reassured that most of the time other people don’t notice it - and most of the time the people around you can feel and hear the wind travelling around (and out) in their own bellies too.

Why is my stomach growling but I'm not hungry?

Mine does the same thing, I believe it is because of what you eat. I have grown accustomed to it over the years but when I want it to not be present (dates, sleeping with people, somewhere quiet) then I eat olives, I have found that they do wonders for settling of the stomach.I believe it is related to gas inside your body, another hint is to not hold in passing gas (farts, burping) that has helped me and I hope these help you.

Why is my stomach growling constantly for hours at a time?

sorry to sound really obvious, but if you are only eating once a day then it is probably just because you are HUNGRY and your body is telling you you need to eat more food! Eating once a day is very unhealthy and will slow down your metabolism to a crawl so that if you do ever start eating more you will put on weight easily. Try eating little and more often to combat the hunger growls and to increase your metabolism.
