My Swollen Lymph Node Won

Swollen lymph nodes?

So today I noticed two hard lumps on the right side of my neck. I have no idea what they are and when this started. I was looking into it and thinking it could possibly just be swollen lymph nodes but im not sure. I just got over a cold a few days ago but im not sure if they were swollen at that time. The bumps are less than an inch away from each other and dont really hurt much to push on. There are no other symptoms so any input would be great!

Swollen Lymph nodes won't go away?

I have had swollen lymph nodes in my neck for over 2 months. I went to the doctor about two weeks after they developed and they just told me it was probably a virus and to go home.

I'm starting to get really concerned. I haven't had any weight loss or any other symptoms other than the swollen lymph nodes. I was just tested for STD's and everything was negative.

I'm starting to get really scared. Does anyone know what this might be?

Swollen lymph node that won't go away??

Regardless if it is painless or not, bring it to your son's physician at the appointment this week. Do not delay! If the physician blows it off, vehemently voice your concern and make sure it's checked out.

With your son's age in mind, chances are it's nothing. But you want a definite answer -- don't go on not knowing the exact cause of a swollen node.

Swollen lymph node in neck?

Producing lymph nodes is one way our bodies fight infection. The lymphatic system attacks infection by way of these little bumps that appear mostly on our necks, underarms, and groin area. They are like little filter monsters that eat up and trap the infection.

It takes a few days, sometimes weeks, for these lymph nodes to do their job, and diminish.

If it's painful, take an OTC (over the counter) pain reliever like ibuprofen or acetaminophen. Also, place a warm compress over the affected area. I wouldn't worry about it too much. It is in a classic spot where lymph nodes usually occur. I would let a doctor take a look at it if it doesn't go away in a month.

Swollen lymph node under armpits won't go away?

So I'm a 16 year old girl right now, and a few years ago as i was shaving my arpits (lol) i guess it kinda nicked at the skin and cut a little. I didnt think anything of it, as cuts are common when shaving. A few weeks later i noticed a little bump thing under there about the size of a pea. Researched a bit, and asked my doctor, and she said it was a swollen lymph node, and to just ignore it as it will go away. Thing is, its been like 3 years since i first got it and its still there. Doesnt hurt or affect me in any way unless i purposefully touch/squeeze it, then it kinda hurts. I don't think it has grown at all but I'm worried as of why it has been there for so long. Some online sources say they should be gone in a few weeks, but mines still here...
Could it be anything serious? I'm gonna try to get a doctor to get it checked out soon
Thanks lots
Xx

Swollen Lymph nodes for 3 weeks?

Go to the doctor, you probably have an infection that can be taken care of with antibiotics. The doctor will probably run some tests to find out whats going on. Also check to see if you have any other swollen lymph nodes (groin, underarm, collarbone, back of the neck).
Usually with lymphoma the lymph nodes are hard and won't move very much when you touch them. However, when I was diagnosed I had one hard lymph node and one rubbery one both near my collarbone.

It sounds like you have an upper respiratory infection which would cause the swollen lymph nodes, nasal congestion, and sneezing, but only your doctor can tell you for sure.

How does an HIV swollen lymph node feel?

Like any other swollen lymph node.I presume that you're asking the question because you suspect you've been exposed to HIV and you've heard that people who become infected with HIV sometimes develop symptoms that may include swollen lymph nodes. This is true. Here are some other very important things you need to know.A large percentage of people who become infected with HIV experience some symptoms in the first few weeks after exposure. These systems rarely last longer than a couple of weeks. They never last more than 3 or 4 weeks. The symptoms can include fever, weakness, sore throat, swollen lymph nodes, and a rash or rashes on the upper body that do not itch. This collection of symptoms is often called seroconversion sickness. It can happen as a response to HIV establishing itself in your body. Not all people who become infected with HIV experience seroconversion sickness. The symptoms of seroconversion sickness are not specific to HIV infection. You can't know you're infected with HIV because you experience symptoms. You can't know you aren't infected with HIV because you don't have symptoms. If you have enough reason to worry that symptoms might indicate HIV infection, you already have enough reason to be tested for HIV.Only an HIV test can diagnose HIV infection.
