My Tablet Has Only 1 Port For Headset. Can I Use Any Headset Speaker Mic On Tablet

How do I use both headphone speaker and mic in one port?

Matthew is correct. Most PC’s and laptops do not have a “four pole” or TRRS connector. This feature is typically found on iPods and smartphones. So go ahead and get an adapter or a cheap USB mic mic. Also, DO NOT plug your headphones into the line out jack on your motherboard. Line out provides a ~2 Volt signal that could damage some headphones. Use the headphone jack located on the front panel.

Why doesn't my headphone's mic work when I plug in the speaker(green port)?

The microphone is not connected. It is shorted to ground. You computer has an output (the green plug) that sends audio into your headphones. This port has no input capabilities. The computer likely has a separate input (often pink colored) that receives the incoming sound from the microphone. Plugged into the green port, you can still use the headphones because of the pin configuration of the plug. Notice that the plug on your headset has four contacts instead of the common three, but the first two, (the tip and the first ring,) are exactly where they would be on a regular, three pin headphone plug. The tip and first ring are the two signals for your left and right headphones. On a three pin headphone plug, the rest of the connector is one big contact. It is the ground for both. So, when you plug in this four pin connector, left and right headphones both work, but the two other connections are shorted together, serving as  the ground for both headphones. The computer has no fourth connection for the microphone, so it doesn't go anywhere. Notice the difference between the two connectors in this picture. This is why the headphone portion still works. Unfortunately, the pink microphone port is wired on a computer the same way as a headphone port, making the assumption that you are using a three pin connector, so there is no accommodation for the separate third and fourth pin. You might have noticed that plugging the headset into the microphone port, you may get a bit of crude audio by shouting into the actual headphones. That is why this is the case. You would have to make up or purchase an adapter like the one Arno Brevoort mentions to pull this fourth contact and the ground to another plug for the pink (microphone) port on your computer.

Can you use a 3.5mm phone headset with a PC?

Not yet on the desktops, but you can on some laptops.  They would only have one jack instead of the typical two, and it has a symbol of a headset with a mic next to it.Again though... this is a feature being seen more on laptops (and tablets).  On desktop boards, it is still a multi-jack connection cluster. That said... it wouldn't take much to wire a dual function jack onto a front panel audio header for a desktop case to connect to a standard motherboard front panel pinout.  Some company has to either already make one, or someone has modded their case for this, but I can't find any pictures.

Can we use headphones as mic In Dslr?

Most definitely. But I mean nowadays the headphones wire is just a single on so you will need a line splitter to make it two jacks, on for microphone and one for headphones. Then you could certainly use the microphone of the headphone with the camera.

How can I convert my smartphone into an instant mic/speaker combination?

I am assuming you want to convert your phone as a MIC which is connected to external speaker via Wire or Bluetooth.Because if you use same phone as a MIC and speaker i.e get real-time audio output from phone speaker of what you are speaking through the MIC. Audio output won’t make sense for long as noise would amplify in a feedback loop. Mobile phones mic are more sensitive to nearby audio, so if audio source is near the MIC (as in case where MIC and speaker are of same phone), there would be too much noise. To convert your smartphone into a MIC i.e use your phone as a MIC and its connected to earphone or some external speaker via wire or Bluetooth. There is an App on Play Store Phone Mic - Use Phone as Mic for Loudspeakers - Apps on Google Play, You can convert your phone into MIC using this app.In app settings, there is also option to record the audio in real-time in mp3 format. There is Equalizer functionality too by which you can modify some frequency components of your speech in real-time i.e you can make your voice shrill or heavy. Pretty cool right!!There is still a drawback, the audio output lags about 1 second. Audio output would follow your speech after 1 second. This is due to the software limitation as audio is sampled at 44.1KHz. This much audio buffer is handled for recording and playing simultaneously. So this much delay is tolerable. Well you can try the app and see for yourself.Phone Mic - Use Phone as Mic for Loudspeakers - Apps on Google Play

Monoprice Graphics Tablet won't work?

Installing my 6x8 Monoprice tablet's been a complete pain in the ***. The light flashes a couple of times then goes dark, other times it doesn't even flash. It won't let me input anything(writing onto the screen) either. Any idea on how to fix this?(And yes, I tried googling it.Didn't help.)

Most likely a driver problem, but I don't know how to trace the current driver so I can uninstall it and reinstall the manufacturer's driver before plugging it in again.

What is "Tone" on PC Speakers mean?

"Tone" basically pumps up (or mutes) the highs (treble, to borrow stereophile lingo) to make the highs stand out (or washed out). It doesn't touch the middles and the lows.

Try it, I personally just leave it in the middle.

Will magnetic fields hurt a wacom tablet?

I don't know if it would cause permanent damage but it will certainly affect it if you're trying to use it near a strong magnetic source.

HS-G500V Gaming Head Sets USB not working, anyone knowns what possible reasons?

go into the device manager and look at the hub root to see if the device is registering as plugged in. if it is there you may need to go to the sound properties and turn the volume up or enable it. You can do that by right clicking the speaker icon on the notification area>playback devices>speakers>properties>levels>Make sure the sound and mic are not muted and the volume is turned up. Hope this helps
