My Wlan Wont Enable How Can I Fix This

DHCP is not enabled for Wireless Network Connection?

Hi There,
Good description of the problem.

Here is what I would do to try to find and fix the problem:

1. In the Win 7 computer (the one with the problem) click the windows logo (start button) and search for "services" to open up the Services dialog box.
Work your way down the long list and make sure that all the services that pertain to DHCP Client, DHCP Client, IP Helper, Network Connections, Network Location Awareness, TCP/IP NetBIOS, and WLAN Autoconfig are set to automatic and are started. Link below to Black Viper's site showing recommended service info.

2. If / when the appreciate services are set up try to connect again. If you can not connect go to "networks" and try to set up your wireless network connection again. Be sure the password is correct, etc. That may work (or not).

IF Not:
3. Log into your router's configuration and if "MAC filtering is enabled make sure your computer's MAC address is included in the "allowed" addresses. If it is not then enter the MAC address for your computer.

It is very possible the problem suddenly happened because someone turned off a service needed to connect or set up the router with MAC Address Filtering and did not add your computer to the list.

Hope this helps,
Al

On Windows 10, wifi is shown as disabled and does not enable. How do I fix this?

Make sure you toggle Wi-Fi option to ON on Wi-Fi settings:Type “wi-fi” in search box and select first result “Change Wi-Fi settings”.Toggle Wi-Fi to “ON”:Else check in Device Manager, if wifi adapter is disabled then Enable it:Another way is to enable wireless capability from network and sharing center as shown in this video tutorial:

How do I turn WLAN back on, on my router?

You'll have to connect via wired LAN using an ethernet cable, then use a browser to connect to the configuration utility (usually on http://192.168.0.1) If you do not have the manual for your router, visit the manufacturer on the web and download a copy. It will tell you how to turn WLAN back on.

Why can't I connect to my 5GHz WiFi network?

To be honest this is a very vague question with a lot of different potential reasons for failure, but ill do my best to provide some different solutions to common scenarios I’ve run across. I will start with some “Duh” answers and move progressively more towards “Ah-ha”s.Turn off and turn on the Wifi of the device you are trying to connectRestart the deviceRestart the modem/routerLog in as the administrator of the router and make sure you have the right WiFi passwordIf it is your network you can even try changing it temporarily to a more simple password, one you just “couldn’t possibly mess up” and testing to ensure that that isnt the cause. If some devices can connect, but others cant then depending on the age of the device you are using it could be a capability issue. In the network world 5GHz Wifi is known as (802.11ac). This was developed in 2008 but was not widely adopted in phones/laptops/wireless dongles until 2013 (-ish). You may be using a device who’s WiFi card cannot pickup and read those 5G signals. (As a professional, if I were to guess, this is your issue.)Honorable, but unlikely Mentions: (DO NOT attempt to troubleshoot these issues yourself unless you have a strong understanding of networking)Check and make sure that the Password Security type (WPA, TKIP, WPA2/AES, Personal…etc) matches on both the router and the device.Check and make sure the DHCP pool isn’t fullHope this helps,JL Cox

How do I fix the "No internet, secured" WiFi problem in Windows 10?

I've seen that with my own Surface Book and Surface Pro 1. The fix for me was a bit simpler…Make sure the device is completely updated and all updates were successful.Click on the offending WiFi connection (in the System Tray) and click “Forget”. Also, if you have an Ethernet cable plugged in unplug that as well.Wait until it completely disconnects from that Access Point. You should have no connection to the Internet at this point.Put the device in Airplane Mode.Reboot the device. If the device is still in Airplane Mode after rebooting take it out of Airplane Mode.Go back to the WiFi connection (in the System Tray) and connect again. DO NOT enable “Connect Automatically”.If it still says “No Internet, Secured” just wait a few minutes — it should clear up. It actually shouldn't take that long. If you prefer you can now enable “Connect Automatically” for that connection. If this fixes it for you then what has happened is simple: The “backed up” connection information has gotten garbled or corrupted and needed to be reset for that device. This used to happen to me all the time with email accounts when I was heavily involved with the Insider Program.I hope this helps!

This device has been disabled by the Windows Device Manager . To Enable This Device, Use...?

Right click my computer and select manage. Go to devices and find the network adapter that you want to use. Right click it and select enable.

I suddenly lost WiFi functionality on my Dell Inspiron laptop. I can't seem to get it back. Has this happened to anyone? How can I fix it?

1) What version of Windows are you using ?2) What is the model of your laptop ?First step, is to check if your phone or other wireless devices can connect ok. If they can’t, it is a router / modem / ISP problem. If they can, but your laptop cannot, then it is one of these problems:Wifi has been disabled on laptop using a key combination, or physical switch on the left or right side of the laptop. There is a keyboard shortcut to enable and disable Wireless connectionsTry Fn + F2 or F12 key Steps to do this are found here. The password has been changed / DNS needs to be refreshed. The easy way of doing this with WiFi, is to “Forget” a connection, and search for it again. If you click on WiFi, and can’t see any WiFi hotspots at all, then this is not the reason for this particular problem, and may be a hardware problem or the card itself has been disabled in device manager.Drivers have been updated to the wrong version, or incompatible version.(Common Win 10 problem, rollback driver to fix, or look for a compatible driver on the Dell website - on a working computer)Wifi has been disabled in software (enable again in Control Panel or device manager to fix this)The Wifi card may be faulty. This can be removed and changed easily, so long as you find a module that is compatible with your laptop. - take it to a PC repair shop if you are unsure. The WiFi card has 2 or 3 cables that connect the card to the motherboard in the laptop, and they are hard to come loose, but if they do, this will also stop your WiFi from working at all. The card is usually located in the same area as the RAM, and accessed by removing the panels on the underside of the laptop. The WiFi card is about 2 cm square or smaller in most laptops, like the third one in this picture below. Wifi Cards look like this:

Wifi connected but can't access to internet?

Wireless won't turn on on a Dell XPS M170?

function f2 only gets you into the bios. That allows you to enable wifi. There is also a wifi hardware switch that must be turned on too. Better computers like the M170 have the hardware switch because it enables high end users to have better battery life by not having the card sending and recieving when the end user has no intention of networking via wifi. If a customer isn't near a hotspot, why broadcast? Or if they in the office and using ethernet which is faster and more secure, why use wifi? That's why there is the switch. On your machine, I think it's on the right hand side.

you might also have a software issue, a configuration issue or a physically bad motherboard or accessory card.

Have you gone into device manager and made sure the drivers are OK?

when you look in the lower right, do you see an icon the looks like a green ice cream cone with bars? You might be trying to connect with intel insead of with windows. Or if you have a dell card , you might have your computer configured to use the built in one on the motherboard instead of the accessory card.
