My Xbox 360 Hardive Is Unformatted. What How Do I Fix It

Xbox 360 250GB Hard Drive "Unformatted" Error?

Okay so I got my Xbox 360 "Slim" as they call it and it was working perfectly. I turn on my Xbox 360 to play some Mafia II and it says the save is not present. I restarted my Xbox 360 and nothing was there. I was like WTF. I lost all my saves and profile so I called Microsoft and the guy said I was SOL. I was angry about that but then I started to use a USB with the hard drive still in but the hard drive had nothing on it and a few days later it said unformatted. There is no way that it could have gotten corrupted. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem.

My xbox 360 250gb hard drive says "unformatted" now?

OK so i used this hard drive to "system link" with many, many, many other people to get games, map packs, movies, avatar gear ect. that i did not have but they did also i used it to install over 20 games, that most likely will no longer read off the disk now. in all i had 150gb of data on the hdd, and I turn on my Xbox today and it says "unformatted" i refuse to reformat it because I will lose hundreds of dollars of system linked software and about 10 or more of my simi-new games. IS there any way possible to restore my stuff? also before anyone says use a usb, usb's max capacity for Xbox is around 16 gigs i need about 150

Xbox update wiped hard drive memory?!?!?!?

So I was on my Xbox 360 (slim version) every thing was running fine, and I saw there was an update for it (one from microsoft), so I updated it, and after it updated, my whole hard drive was wiped of memory, and unformatted, so I tried to format it, and after it got done formatting, it still said unformatted, so I tried a couple more times, and it didn't work. The Xbox also runs REALLY slow, and whenever you put a disc in, the screen is black for like 2mins and 30 seconds. WTF SHOULD I DO?!?!

Can a 250gb xbox 360 hard drive let you play rated "M" games?

LMAO! Your cute, Lol seriously the hard drive has nothing to do, with ratings of game. Hard Drive does not control what games you play, unless you put parentels controls or something. The Hard Drive just holds your memory of games and other content you add to it, the hard drive has nothing to do with you playing rated M games or not.

Missing Xbox 360 Hard drive...and red light??

2 questions -

My newer Xbox 360 E with a 4 gig drive was acting weird lately. This happened right after an update. Both Live profiles were gone as well as some save data. In the system settings my USB drive showed up but the HDD was unformatted. Thinking it became unseated, I opened it and the drive was gone. Someone stole it. Empty space and nothing inside.

To make things worse the Xbox froze, started to make a loud noise, and the red light came on the front of it. I quickly turned it off, unplugged everything, let it sit but nothing works now. No green light on the front, nothing happens when I hit the "on" button. Orange light on the power brick, but nothing else going on.

So... 1) is there anyway to figure out when the HDD was removed to narrow down the time frame to figure out who may have done this to me 2) is my Xbox dead? I'm guessing it overheated.

Also, I went on line and checked my Xbox accounts on my computer. My last log in was 5 days ago with the old profile. I'm not sure if that means the drive was taken out at that time, but it seems like that data was stored on the drive, not on my USB stick.

Any help to figure when the drive went missing would be great.

How can I create partition for Xbox 360 without formatting or converting USB hard disk to Fat32?

Here is an original answer. Taken directly from my blog post at http://g33kopedia.wordpress.com/...After experimenting with a SanDisk 8GB pen drive and a spare Western Digital 750GB Hard disk, I came up with an original (at least I think it is original) solution. The trick lies in the 2 options presented when you plug-in your hard disk and navigate to Settings->Storage->(your storage device)->Configure USB Storage:Configure nowCustomizeIf you select 1. Configure Now, it will format your whole hard drive and create a Fat32 partition. If you select 2. Customize, it will try to find a primary Fat32 partition, erase that particular partition only and configure it for use with Xbox.So here is how I configured my Western Digital 2TB external hard disk with 1.5TB of “important” data using a free software – Partition Wizard:Connect to a Windows PC.Shrink size of any existing partition (in my case 2TB NTFS partition) by X GB. (Replace X with any number of GBs you want to be available for Xbox) (Guide)Create a new Fat32 primary (must be primary, otherwise you will end up formatting whole hard disk) partition of X GB (Space freed up in Step-1) (Guide)Plug it in to XBoxGo to Xbox Settings->Storage->(Your storage device)->Configure USB Storage, select 2. Customize, reserve all 32 GB (it is up to you how much storage you need, max is 32GB) for game profiles and downloadable contentWait for completion. Once ready, you will have 32 GB of space available for Xbox Game save and other downloadable content. Rest (X-32) GB will be available for you to store any files from your PC.Note: Max size that Xbox can reserve for Game save and downloadable content is 32GB. (increased from 16GB in recent updates for smart glass).Use original partition  (in my case (2TB – XGB) NTFS partition) for primary storage, and newly created and configured Fat32 partition for Xbox media content. Now, at any point of time in future, I can:Backup 32GB XBox 360 files from Fat32 partition.Resize any partition of the hard disk, even the Fat32 partition configured by Xbox.My advice for you is to do a test run on a pen drive or a spare hard disk before trying it on your hard disk with really important stuff.

Xbox 360 external hard drive doesnt work anymore?

My xbox did the same thing today too

How do you format a memory card on PCSX2?

If you mean formatting it for the first time, tick “No Disc”, then click one of the “Boot ISO” options under the System drop down menu (doesn’t matter if fast or full) (There will be a “boot BIOS” option if you’re using a 1.5 beta).Once the PS2 boots up, select “browser”, then select the memory card you want to format, press X and you’ll be asked to do so.If you want to format it after you already formatted it the first time, sadly this feature was never implemented natively in the PS2 BIOS. You can however create a new virtual memory card with PCSX2 itself (Config>Memory Cards), or you can download MC Annihilator (http://psx-scene.com/forums/atta...) and run it via System>Run ELF
