Name Of The God For All Religions In World

Why do all religions speak of one god and give different name to their God and talk of universal love but breed hatred among different sects? Why does religion talk of life after death but make one guilty of having pleasure in this life?

Why do questions that create bias, stereotypes, and guilt by association still exist in a supposedly enlightened era on Quora? Why do scientists have disagreements among them? Why do critics take such a negative view of people who take a stand for principles?Because humans are imperfect, sinful, and often easily tempted by short-termism.  Because the individuals who call themselves a particular faith-group don't necessarily follow its principles. I don't think Christian denominations (or sects if you will) don't breed hatred.  There are differences such, but they seem to abide by the principles in Ephesians 4 for unity. This is a clear straw-person on the faith and in this case the Christian faith:.  1) It fails to understand that Christianity is founded on accountability and self-refleciton on the one hand as well as grace and forgiveness on the other.  You have to understand both components--this only looks at one side of the equation (if in fact it does that).  2) Christianity is about relationship, accountability, and responsibility--not guilt.3) Christianity believes that sin is a terminal disease.  In this context, Jesus offers us eternal life with Him in heaven (and avoidance of hell).

If there is one God then why there are so many religions?

There are more than 10 religions.  Some religions have more than one god.  Some religions have no gods and everyone always seem to think their religion is the right religion and all the other people, most of the people in the world, are wrong.Note: it isn't exactly fair that Muslims all get lumped together but Christians are broken up.The point is there is no one religion that most people believe in.  Muslims, Christians, Mormons and Jews all actually share the same god of Abraham.  But they believe different things about this god.  The reality is there are many more religions then just 10 even if you lump all Christians together.  By the way there are over 33,000 denominations of Christianity.  Each one where someone thought that their was enough of a difference of their definition of God to warrant a new denomination.  Before you try to get Jews and Hindus and Buddhists and Christians to believe the same thing try just picking a few denominations within Christianity and get them to pick them not to divide themselves into those denominations.  This is a funny joke that shows a simplistic view of Christianity. I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said "Stop! don't do it!" "Why shouldn't I?" he said. I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!" He said, "Like what?" I said, "Well...are you religious or atheist?" He said, "Religious." I said, "Me too! Are you christian or Buddhist?" He said, "Christian." I said, "Me too! Are you catholic or protestant?" He said, "Protestant." I said, "Me too! Are you Episcopalian or baptist?" He said, "Baptist!" I said,"Wow! Me too! Are you baptist church of god or baptist church of the lord?" He said, "Baptist church of god!" I said, "Me too! Are you original baptist church of god, or are you reformed baptist church of god?" He said,"Reformed Baptist church of god!" I said, "Me too! Are you reformed baptist church of god, reformation of 1879, or reformed baptist church of god, reformation of 1915?" He said, "Reformed baptist church of god, reformation of 1915!" I said, "Die, heretic scum", and pushed him off. Many denominations really do believe that members of all other denominations are deserving of hell.  Until Christianity can decide on their definition of God how do you expect to fold in other religions with their views on totally different gods or there being no god at all?

What religion believes that all religions share the same god?

For example, I believe that Judaism, Hinduism, Catholicism, Islam, etc... all are rooted in the same truth, but evolved over the course of history. Basically, i believe in a higher power, so I wouldn't be Agnostic. I guess I would say I am the opposite of Agnostic and believe that all Religions are equally valid. Is there a name for this?

Is there only one god, or does each religion have a different god?

The original question is:Is there only one god, or does each religion have a different god?Answer:Each religion has a different god. There are glaring examples of these differences that believers refuse to recognize. The example that is usually given of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam as having the same god is spurious, because in Judaism, Yahweh is quoted as saying “Thou shalt not have any other gods before me,” and that the Jews are his chosen people, yet Islam has “Allah” telling his followers to subjugate all non-Muslims and that Islam is “superior over all religions.”¹ Christians in the New Testament have the Yahweh of the Old Testament as a “god of love,” yet it is obvious that the Yahweh of the Old Testament is a god of destruction.²____________¹ The Quran's Verses of Violencehttp://www.thereligionofpeace.co...Quran (9:29) - "Fight those who believe not in Allah nor the Last Day, nor hold that forbidden which hath been forbidden by Allah and His Messenger, nor acknowledge the religion of Truth, (even if they are) of the People of the Book, until they pay the Jizya with willing submission, and feel themselves subdued." "People of the Book" refers to Christians and Jews. According to this verse, they are to be violently subjugated, with the sole justification being their religious status. Verse 9:33 tells Muslims that Allah has charted them to make Islam "superior over all religions."² Is The Bible More Violent Than The Quran? http://www.npr.org/templates/sto...Consider the Book of 1 Samuel, when God instructs King Saul to attack the Amalekites: "And utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them," God says through the prophet Samuel. "But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey."

Is there a real difference between all religion?Don't you worship the same GOD by a different name?

i always wondered about this,

most religions have the same morals,
i would like to think that everyone is worshiping teh same god but in different way!
cant wait to get to heaven and have everyone realise how stupid these arguments about whos religion is right or wrong

What are similarities between all religions?

Simple answer:

All religions (except Biblical Christianity) teach that one can reach God on their own merit by performing certain rituals or ceremonies and generally being "good."

Christianity teaches that there is nothing you can do to get to God and that your own merit falls far short of reaching God. The others teach man reaching to God. Christianity teaches God reaching to man.

Those are the similarities.

hope this helps.
