Need A Title For My Novel Somewhat Alike The Title

A title for my novel?

What if Casper was right – what if I was just like them? Then that would certainly explain at least four things.

Firstly I looked like them.
Secondly why was I like them in ways another individual never could be?
Thirdly, what if I was the same creature as them?
If I was, then why wasn’t Harry?

Isobel Marsden had a seemingly glamorous life. Living in the most exclusive neighbourhood in Bend city, having the constant attention from being the mayor’s daughter. Attending the most prestigious private school and just surviving the irritation of her adoptive older brother, it’s no surprise she’s more confident and poised than most girls her age. Possessing a beautiful talent for nearly everything doesn’t really help that factor. Until one day she comes in contact with the new kids at school.

Kingsley, Layton, Selwyn, Gregory, Madison, Vanessa, Amelia and Imogen are the new, mysterious, perfect Oliver crowd of Bradelock Academy along with the irresistible Casper Thomas. Come the arrival of Isobel’s seventeenth birthday Casper and the Olivers decide to awake her to what she is. A vampire like them.

But what they don’t know is the more she is with them, the more endangered she becomes. Suddenly the Vampires’ revived feud with Werewolves rises; The Olivers become the targets of a group of vampire hunters. And Isobel wrestling with her newly found power is her families and friends only hope . . . Or is she?

What are some books that are similar to the Wheel of Time series?

I recommend reading the Dune series by Frank Herbert. Much of the Wheel of Time series world has clear references to Dune and they have some similar themes. The Aiel (WOT) are a culture of people who live in a dessert wasteland and become master warriors because of it, much like the Fremen (Dune). They join their respective heroes and form the core of their army. The Aes Sedai (WOT) are a secretive group of women who manipulate politics, use magic, and are waiting on the birth of a young man who will revolutionize the world. He does come and dominates them in a way they didn't forsee. They are equivalent to the Bene Gesserit (Dune). The Seanchan are a culture which left our own many years ago, creating an empire of incredible size and population. They have a matriarchy and are returning to violently conquer their original homeland. They are equivalent to the Honored Matres (Dune). The magic in (WOT) is restricted almost exclusively to women as it brings on madness and extreme violence in men. Rand Al'Thor faces this madness himself, but is able to hold it off and eventually cleanse it for all men. Meanwhile, Paul Atreides alone was able to wield the "magic" or spice (Dune) as a man without being driven insane.Rand Al'Thor (WOT) rises up and takes all political control to himself through his Aiel army, incredibly powerful magic, and dominating personality. Paul Atreides (Dune) does the same thing.

Ideas for a vampire novel?

If you write about a teenage vampire girl, you will not be doing anything interesting or original unless you break drastically from the scenario you start in. One way of dealing with this is to have the initial location in time & space be somewhat irrelevant, perhaps in some small way character forming, but not definitive of that person. That way, you avoid being anything like those AWFUL Twilight stories, and can retain some sense of originality. The Vampire Chronicles of Anne Rice have a very good version of the actual vampire creature, I would suggest reading at least the first 3 of those... or just the 2nd one, The Vampire Lestat, if you haven't already.

If you have it as a sort of teenage coming of age story it will suck. hard.

Vampires, if they are to be of any real interest, must be very old, or must live for many years before reaching the main story line. Otherwise there is no way for the character to really change & learn because significant change can take a lifetime, especially if you want the character to actually intrigue your readers.

Or you could just write a trashy teenage tale that can be easily mass marketed but has little to no real substance and only appeals to an oppressed mass.

Need help with some princess and prince names please?

Okay, so I'm writing a book series and I need a really beautiful name for a 17 year old princess/goddess. I was thinking off Odette, but the name was already used in the movie The Swan Princess. I also need a name for a 17 year old prince and a somewhat mean and spiteful prince who is also 17 years old. They don't really appear until book 5 or 6, but i need to weave the story into the first 4. I don't want names that are already princess and prince names and no boring names like "Ted" or "Alice".

I need a definiton and/or example of a CONCRETE POEM...?

I am doing a poetry portfolio for English 12 and I cannot find anything on Concrete Poems. If you know of any sites or any thing you personally know about a concrete poem, please let me know. It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. ~Nikki

How would you describe Agatha Christie's writing style?

I have to agree with Annie in that Agatha can be "very detailed" at times, but I feel like she usually includes just enough description to create a general image and still leave room for imagination. She and Steinbeck are alike in that manner, and both novelists have that easy-going, relaxing air to them. It seems like you can read half of one of Agatha's novels but only feel like you've been reading for ten minutes.

Fairytale adaptations?

I lovelovelove books that are adaptations or retellings of traditional fairytales. I have a small collection of them going on one of my bookshelves.

Does anyone know of any really good books that are based on fairytales?
