How do I fix the vertical line on my HP Pavilion G6 laptop?

Oh My Good lordThough that vertical lines seems to be a visual damage but could be fixed to an extent.Follow below steps first and check if works:-Try updating the graphic drivers. Also, if your laptop provides you the option to change or upgrade Graphics cards,do it.Even after this, if vertical line still exists, try to flex or bend your LCD PANEL FRAME very gently and check if it disappears and reappers once you apply and release the pressure/force.You can also press with your palm, the display from both front of screen and back side of LAPTOP lid with gradually moving your palm Up and Down & To and Fro and check if it makes some difference, but remember to perform task gently. But if vertical lines still appears ,you need to perform below last steps to get to a conclusion and in case if you are not comfortable to perform below step, get a technician who could perform .You would need to open the laptop LCD PANEL FRAME.Replace and Open the LCD from the laptop lid.On the back side of the LCD DISPLAY screen there are wires/ribbon that runs from motherboard into screenPut the scotch tape along the ribbon that connects the motherboard into the screen and other place where you probably assume the connection of ribbon might have got loose.Check by powering the screen,99% chance the horizontal or vertical lines would no longer be there.Best of LuckP.S. Posting a Youtube video link which will help you to perform the opening of display screen-Play it using youtube.

Computer Help Now! HP Pavilion G6 Display Driver and Blue Screen!?

I have an HP Pavilion G6 laptop (model 584037-001) It has Windows 7 Home Premium, it has the original 640GB hard drive and the original 4GB stick of ram. I've had it for almost 2 years and it has been a pile of crap. The track pad barely works, the pads to keep it from not scratching itslef are falling off, it is super slow, the panels are coming loose etc. etc.

Recently when I watch a video or play a game I get a warning that says "Display Driver Has Stopped Working But Has Recovered" and my video/game screen goes green and withing another 5-10 seconds I get a blue crash screen. It has happened at least 15 times in the past week, and it gets really annoying because I have important tabs open for work and school!!

What is wrong with my laptop? Is there something I can do to fix it? Should I bring it to a computer repair guy? What should I do???

I have installed windows 10 in my HP pavilion g6 laptop. Everything is fine but LAN is not working. What is the solution?

Make sure that you have a working internet connectionGo to control panel>hardware And sound>device manager(It may ask for adminstrator privileges)Look for the option named "network adapters"Select the option which contains the term ”ethernet" on itRight click on itSelect "update driver software"Select "search automatically for updated driver software"It may show searching online for drivers. If it does, it will find a suitable driver for your laptop automatically. If it shows "best driver is already installed"(or if you cannot run internet on that computer), google for your laptop's name followed by the Ethernet adapter name(you will get this from the device manger list the you opened earlier) followed by " drivers for windows 8"Then download the driver(use your intuition)Re-do steps 2-6 written aboveFor the 7th step, select "browse my computer For driver software" and locate the driver you downloaded.Note that you may require to unzip/extract the driver before doing this if it is zipped/compressed on download.Select next and install the driver. It is advised to restart the computer after driver install

Where can I find HP laptop drivers other than from the HP website?

You may get the drivers for your laptop on any other website but it depends on the hardware first. If you need graphics drivers for some amd card on your laptop then you can seek towards the amd website for it, but if you need drivers for touch-pad or fingerprint scanner then the only way to get it is through HP driver website. You may not get drivers for all of your laptop hardware on their corresponding websites.

I have an HP Pavillion 15 AB031AX which has A10 8700P and a R7 m360. Right now, the display driver is updated to R7 m360 instead of R8 m365dx. Should I roll back to R8 m365dx or stick with R7 m360?

No, need. R8 m365dx is a dual graphics brand (Radeon r6 graphics + R7 m360 combined). When you updated your drivers, just go to AMD Catalyst Control Centre and enable AMD Dual Graphics.

HP pavilion G6, headphone jack not working?

Hi, Headphone jack is not working. Every time I try and listen to music or anything through my earphones or headset... it continues playing through the speakers. I have tried to look at the driver reinstall them etc, still no change.

Any help will be much appreciated even if I have to replace it.

I have a HP Pavilion G6 built originally for windows 7. Should I install Windows 10?

Definitely. To be precise, Windows 10 is nothing like Windows 7. It’s honestly like asking whether to ride a Porsche or a Toyota (no offense made to either brands, as I was just comparing the luxury, ahem, level of both the, ahem, cars). If your computer meets the system requirements, then definitely install Windows 10.System Requirements for Windows 10 :Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or fasterRAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)Free hard disk space: 16 GBGraphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driverA Microsoft account and Internet accessIf your computer meets the above requirements, then go over to the Windows Upgrade Installer Tool download page right here [1].When prompted to choose 32-bit or 64-bit, choose appropriately (you can verify the architecture of you operating system, whether it is 32-bit or 64-bit by right-clicking the My Computer icon on your desktop, clicking properties and then checking whether 32-bit or 64-bit) and click install. Now all you have to do is follow the on-screen instructions in order to complete the installation and upgrade to Windows 10.Hope this helped you get through the process, and please note again that Windows 10 is more easier to use than Windows 7 and is a 10x better than Windows 7 or 8. So, please do consider installing Windows 10 and Best Of Luck :)Footnotes[1] Windows 10
