Need Good Pasta Salad Recipe But Have Picky Eater

I'm In need of recipes/meals?

Since he likes potatoes, how about stuffed pots. Bake or boil a potato, split it down the middle and fill with a variety of the things he will eat. Example: my 2 yr old cousin only likes to eat broccoli (go figure) as his choice of veggie. We use fresh, steamed broccoli with cheese, and shredded chicken. My son prefers a stuffed pot. with seasoned beef, shredded cheese, sour cream, & salsa. A full meal without all the fuss and it's an open option to whatever ones taste buds prefer. Another dish we like is sort of a potato gratin. It's spinach, red onions, pots., cheese, and chicken baked in a casserole dish. It's very filling and not as fatty as it sounds. But seriously, you might explain to your hubby if he wants to eat low fat he's going to have to incorporate more veggies into his meal plan.

My wife is a picky-eater. What kind of food do you recommend to her if she is in Australia?

the default response has to be chicken. So  what I'm going to do is recommend to you  what not to feed her.  My wife is both equal parts stubborn and fussy when it comes to eating. Once I got this awesome recipe for for kangaroo burgers. Now apart from tomatoes I am generally open to trying new things but she is not. She does not eat lamb, pork, any seafood and as I found out later kangaroo. So I made these burgers with some home made caramelised onions to garnish. The moment she walks in the door she takes one sniff and says I don't like kangaroo. I am not eating this. To this I try to convince her that they are just beef, a clever ruse in my head but a poor attempt to fool the smartest woman I know in reality. She takes one bite of it and then spits it out in disgust  complaining for the rest of the night about how she told me she doesn't eat kangaroo. To this day I have never tried to feed her kangaroo again. Trust me just play it safe and feed her chicken. Its just easier.

Tempted to start the Atkins diet but i'm a picky eater... quick/easy/cheap Recipe suggestions?

if a 6 year old would pick at it, i probably would too...my roommate is a vegetarian so I AM learning to like new things with her help, just slowly.

i looked up Atkins acceptable foods and it looks like a lot of meat, egg, salad, & soup basics. Plus a lot of the suggested recipes have things i don't like, thus making my options limited. Just looking for easy/cheap/creative ways to make that stuff not get old after a while. (i want to stick actually to the diet!)

any suggestions for someone who loves to eat like a kid?

*please note, i only want recipe's & the like, no criticism, or pointless comments please! and yes i'm working out too!

Im a 14 year old picky eater?

chicken is a pretty safe meat to begin with. just get white meat chicken breast.

guacamole is delicious but you might have to get used to it. nachos are pretty good with salsa. and REAL melted cheese.

frozen spinach is good if made with butter. same with green beans. NON pickled beets are yummy.

strawberries with sugar. Bananas dipped in chocolate are really yummy too. Fuji apples are the best kind btw they're the sweetest.

Bread and pasta and other starchy foods are good for energy.

whole milk for gaining weight. its a lot yummier than skim, which is like white water. yuck.

ps. fruit is really really yummy when dipped in first yogurt and then sprinkled with powder sugar.

eat more meat and try tofu. or edamame.

What is the best healthy recipes for kids?

There are loads of things kids can do, provided there is a "grownup helper" around to do things like using the cooker and supervising use of sharp implements. Here are a few ideas:- Sandwiches. Obvious but really easy, and to ring the changes you could use pitta bread that they can stuff with interesting things, or wraps.- Salad: Let them choose what they want to put in eg grated carrot, raisins, cucumber, cheese cubes, crispy lettuce, sweetcorn, ham or cooked bacon, sweet pepper...- Potato salad: let them mix it together after the "grownup helper" has cooked the potatoes.- Pizza. Start with a bought base, crumpets or muffins and a simple tomato sauce (fry finely chopped onions until soft, add mixed herbs, tomato puree, and canned tomatoes, then cook until it thickens and tastes good.). Then let them add what they want - make a face even, and the grownup helper puts it under the grill or in the oven depending on what base you choose. This is good hot, and they can also take it cold to school in a lunchbox- Pasta and sauce: depending on the child's age, they could help stir sliced hot dogs, peppers etc into cooked pasta and tomato sauce (see above). Also good cold as pasta salad- Soft cheese/dips and dippers: If you're health conscious, you can avoid over-processed cheese spreads and use a little pot of soft cheese with carrot sticks, celery, blanched green beans or mangetout, tortilla chips or crispy toasted pitta bread strips.Sweet stuff:- Rice crispie cakes: melt 150g chocolate and 50g butter or margarine, then stir in lots of rice krispies or cornflakes. Get the kids to do the stirring!- Fruit Salad: get them to cut up fruit they like and stir it all together in a bowl, then dole out into small pots for lunchboxes.- Biscuits. They can help with everything other than cooking.

How do I eat healthy if I’m picky? I’m a vegetarian, I don’t like seafood, and I hate a lot of veggies. How do I eat healthier when all I have in my house is junk food, pasta, and frozen stuff?

Eat things that you don’t like, but won’t make you vomit. Familiarity will set in over time and you will realize that the way a vegetable is prepared and complemented can significantly alter how palatable it is. Keep trying new things. There is no way you have tried it all in one lifetime!

My son is a very picky eater. How can I encourage him to broaden his food choice?

Hi, you can try letting your son play with his food. Really. By playing, kids discover the world and make it their own. Help him discover the different foods, encourage him to be involved in the cooking process and appreciate his efforts, without pushing him. Slowly, he will try the foods and eventually, he will eat them. It worked for me and my friends. You need to be patient and positive. If your son is 2 or older: Offer him a piece of raw cauliflower to break and wither. Let him break beans into smaller pieces for cooking. Let him play the drums on the table with carrots. Give him a bowl of cooked noodles or pasta to mess up and play as he likes. Let him use your raw peas as marbles. Ask him to bring you the fish from the grocery bag one by one. He'll be so proud of himself and so interested in the vegetables that he will automatically start accepting them mentally, which will lead to trying them first and eating them eventually. If your son is 5 or 6 or older, y o u can ask him to help cut up your vegetables, or stirring your stew. By being involved, your son will be responsible and be proud of his responsibility. He will take ownership of his contribution and automatically feel more ready to actually eat the foods he helped make.I hope I helped. I'm happy to help more, just let me know! Good luck!
