Need help finding the name of this book?
i read a book in english class back when i was in school. I have been tryin to find the book to read again but i cant remember the name of it. All i can remember is.. its based on this little boy who grew up in this town.. where everyone has the same. Every family has the same amount of kids... they all live in the same houses.. every child gets the same present for their first bday, then everyone gets the same for the next bday and so on.. hmm... also i do remember when the boy goes into the hospital or some room, he hears how when people have twins, if they already have 1 child, they have to get rid of one of the twins.. which is the weakest one. I really hope someone can help me with this. I would REALLY love to read this book again

Could it be The Green Book by Jill Paton-Walsh (1981)?"Three kids (Joe, Sarah and Pattie) leave Earth in a space ship with their Dad, just before the planet is destroyed by a natural disaster. Each person on the ship is allowed to bring just one book. It is a four-year voyage, which the passengers mostly spend sleeping and reading. After a few weeks, people start trading books. Everyone makes fun of Pattie, the youngest child aboard, when they discover she brought an empty book as her choice.Finally the refugees arrive at their new home. The air and water are good, but the vegetation is all very strange and crystalline. Pattie is given the honor of naming their new village. She calls it Shine. By various experiments, the humans figure out ways to build houses and make lamps to light them. However, all their animals die after eating the local grass. Their earth plants won't grow, either, except for wheat, but even that has a weird look to it. Nobody is sure if they will have enough to eat, and their ship has no fuel to take them anywhere else. Luckily, Pattie and the other kids, discover that there are "candy trees" with a sweet, edible sap. They also discover that the humans are not alone. Sarah, Pattie's sister, steals a bunch of the grain and makes pancakes with it. The kids all eat them. Everyone is afraid they will die, but they suffer no ill effects. At last, they know they will be able to survive! The grown-ups need a way to keep track of who gets how much wheat. They want Pattie to give them her blank book, but she protests. In the end, her father takes it and finds it is not blank. Pattie used the book as a diary and wrote down all their experiences in settling Shine." I am writing a book, and I need a last name for the first name Raiden. Any ideas?

This way it's not too comic book like 'Peter Parker', 'Vickie Vale', or 'Clark Kent'. And finally, what ever I choose it needs to roll off the tongue easily. It's more believable that way. Need help finding the right name for a character in a book I'm writing?
As a writer, I love using name generator sites. They truly are helpful, at least when you arent sure what you want from your character. There randomness helps you mold your character, but I think you already have. I'll give you a link anyway. Also, recently i went to a writing workshop and I learned how to characterize by name, so I'm sure we can reverse that. Is this character an oddball? If so, he most likely will have an odd name, like Bart for example. From there, you can incorporate an adjective into his last name. By the description you're giving me, I'm thinking of total creepy/sketchy guy. Need fitting last names for book character, please help?
I am having a hard time finding a last name for some major roles in my story that fit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. The names of my characters in need of last names are: Katelyn and Emmett(i might change his name to Ethan)-brother and sister- I would prefer a elegant last name (and PLEASE do not comment on one of my characters having same first name as someone in Twilight, I simply used that name because I like that name and it fits). Gale/Alex (still debating) - I would prefer a strong and/or rebellious last name. Christian- I would prefer a last name that would fit a leader. So kinda Strong and powerful. Iva/Ava(still debating)- A harsh last name would do. Heather/Madison(still debating)- For this one i would prefer a kind last name. If you have any other last names that don't fit any of the names I just listed I would still like you to list them for me and a name and characteristic that fits. Also if you could help me decide which name i should use for the ones I am still debating on, I would appreciated that as well. THANKS! :)
