Need help with baby girl name (last name Smith!)?

due with first baby in 3 weeks, we are needing help deciding on a name! Last name is Smith, here is what we are considering:

Chloe Elise
Sadie Luelle
Olivia Jade
Sophia Janelle

let me know what you think, or any other suggestions you have! the middle names are all family names/combos of family names. Luelle comes from my mom's and mother-in-law's middle names (Lou and Ellen), Jade comes from their first names (Jane and Jody), Elise is a combo of our grandmother's names (Alice, Edna, Eileen), and Janelle is from my mom's name, Jane Ellen.

is Sophie/Sophia or Olivia too popular right now???? We really like them all but don't want our little girl to be one of ten in her class...opinions??!

do you like first name with an S and last name Smith?? my husband is 1 of 3 boys, they are all S. Smith.

any other name suggestions??!
thanks!!

I need help to describe a shy little girl for my English short story. PLEASE HELP!!!! :(?

When confronted by an adult, she rarely lifted them from their meticulous examination of the floor. But when she thought no-one was looking her eyes would flicker around, voraciously drinking in each detail like a cautious explorer. If by chance one did meet those ocular gems, they flashed with curiosity that belied intelligence beyond her years. Shyness was a gift. It allowed to continue her steady, unwavering consumption of the world in all it's detail, while her curious mind assimilated the bewildering mystery. Unchallenged by the burdens of polite conversation, she paved a path through the wilds of life so cryptically not even her parents could guess what she was thinking.

My little sister gets bullied. How do I help her?

When I was in middle school, I was bullied on the school bus very horribly. People would take off my shoes and throw them out the window. I got to walk home in bare feet, in an area where goatheads were prevalent. A boy once spat in my hair on the bus. When my older sister and her friend found out, they got in their cars and approached each one of the bullies when they were walking home by themselves and threatened them to within an inch of their lives if they ever said boo to me. No one ever bothered me after that. But, that was 40 years ago, and that probably wouldn’t work today.I’m still in favor of taking somebody out and beating the crap out of them.

There's a little girl (around 11) who walks around the streets for hours starting 16:00. She looks like nobody takes care of her. How do I help her?

There are a few possibilities here, none of them good:She indeed has no parents or caretakers and is homeless and aloneHer parents are neglectful or even abusive, they could be drug addicts that don’t careShe just likes to go out walking at 4 am and her parents are unaware of this unconventional and rather unsafe habit of hersShe is involved in something shady (relationship with a predator, sex trafficking victim, etc).I honestly cannot think of any good reason why an 11 year old girl would be roaming the streets at that hour looking neglected and uncared for.A child in this predicament is vulnerable and needs help. Even if she has a home and her basic physical needs are being met, she is likely in need of emotional support and mental health counseling. You are doing her a favor by getting her real professional help. If you try to to approach her on your own to talk, I don’t think you will get a straight story.(UPDATE: since you mentioned that you yourself are a female teenager in a comment to another answer, you could try to approach her to hear her story. She may be receptive to and grateful for your offer of friendship. But she probably still needs professional help). So, I am going to strongly suggest calling the local police and/or child protective services.Presuming you are located in the U.S., here is a link with information on how to report suspected abuse or neglect:How to Report Suspected Child MaltreatmentThere is a national hotline number 1.800.4.A.CHILD (1.800.422.4453). There is also a link to state agencies. The girl may or may not be in imminent danger but she is highly vulnerable to becoming a victim of someone with criminal intent. It would be far better for someone like yourself who actually cares to help her before this happens. Please let us know how this turns out.

What is the indirect speech of “The teacher said to the little girl, ‘Do you want me to help you, dear’”?

You can think of it like this. Direct = being straight and clear upfront. Indirect = meandering your way to what you’re really saying, So with your example, the indirect speech could be something like:Speaking to the little girl, the teacher asked her, “Do you want me to help you, dear?”Notice how it’s not as straight to the point as the original sentence. So instead of coming right out with the teacher said ……., you’re giving info about somebody speaking to a girl. Whose doing this? You find out later. The same would be the case if we had:A teacher was speaking to a little girl and asked asked her, “Do you want me to help you, dear?”Once again, it’s taking you longer to get to the point. So you’re taking a more winding or meandering path to it.
