Need Help With Straight Talk Byop

If I leave Straight Talk can I keep my phone number?

Yes.To do so you must call straight talk CS and ask for your account number and transfer PIN to give to your new (next) phone company. If you want the number to sit in “limbo” you could always port it to a service such as Google voice. Doing this would allow you to use the number thru GV and Hangouts on any Android, iOS and Windows/Linux device.Straight Talk doesn't make it easy to port and the ONLY way to get this info is to call them. Even their app doesn't give it.Good luck

Using a cspire phone for straight talk?

I am considering switching to straight talk. I am currently using a cspire iPhone 4 with their prepaid $50 plan. On the straight talk website under the "byop" (being your own phone) section it has where you can put the ESN number ( or whatever its called) in to see if your phone is compatible and eligible to work for straight talk. It stated that my cspire iPhone 4 is. It tells me to purchase an activation kit and instead of using a sim card (because it does not take one) it says it should have an access code. Can I just purchase the activation kit, put the code in and be on my way? Or does my cspire phone have to be unlocked first? If so, how do j go about unlocking it?

Does straight talk use GSM or CDMA?

Straight Talk is a service (registered trademark) of TracFone Wireless, and they have MVNO agreements with all the four top US carriers.Which means that they can provide CDMA or GSM service - it depends on the phone you want to use on them (either one they sell or bring your own) and which SIM you get from them.

How can I switch my phone from straight talk to Verizon?

As far as the phone goes, that's easy. All Verizon phones are compatible with Straight Talk, so you will just need to replace the Verizon SIM card in the phone with a Straight Talk SIM card. This is assuming you already own your phone. If you are still making payments on it, you will probably need to pay it off before you will be able to use it on Straight Talk. Straight Talk should provide you with this SIM or you can buy one online or at Wal-Mart.If you are looking to keep your phone number you will need to port it over from Verizon and should be able to do this either through Straight Talk's 800 number or their website. In order to port your number you will need your Verizon account number AND PIN number. If you do not have BOTH, you will not be able to use your number. Your Verizon number will also need to be active and in good standing at the time of the port request. If the number is suspended or disconnected, the port request will be denied by Verizon.

How can I switch my phone from Verizon to Straight Talk?

You actually do not have to do anything. Since Straight Talk has a subsidiary mvno contract with Verizon, as it does with Sprint, AT&T & T-Mobile, Straight Talk service can be use on a Verizon device irregardless of network lock status. The Straight Talk SIM card kit includes a CDMA LTE SIM (UICC) card which is specifically for Verizon compatible smartphones which are 4G/LTE capable. To use your Verizon device on Straight Talk, you will only need to install that SIM in your Verizon device along with the included network access code. You may activate service either by calling Straight Talk customer service, or by visiting Straight Talk's BYOD (bring your own device) activation webpage online.

How do you reactivate an old Straight Talk phone?

You would need to contact customer support to go through the process. You will need the IMEI and SIMS card if applicable for the phone. The representative can walk you through the process and assist you in getting the phone activated. Your number may change depending on the time of deactivation.

I'd like to switch my straighttalk phone to Verizon and keep my number. Is this possible?

Switching the number isn't a problem. Your account number is the IMEI of your phone or the last 15 numbers of the SIM if you're a bring your own phone customer. Most Straight Talk phones are SIM locked so they can only be used on Straight Talk. If the device has been used in Straight Talk for at least a year, you may have some luck getting them to unlock it. Ive heard mixed results there. But unless the phone is a LTR-V phone it won't be physically compatible with Verizon.I have seen CDMA Verizon phones activated on Straight Talk, but I've never seen the reverse because the MEID of the device must be registered with Verizon.

How do I transfer my active Straight Talk phone to another phone?

I have had 5 phones on Straight talk, the customer service will help you switch, you will need the info on the phone like serial number, and depending on the phone and towers in your area you may need a new SIM card, GSM, CDMA, LTE service? The main problem is if you do not have a SIM card with the address book from the old phone that you can use on the new one, you will have to hand enter all the names and numbers to the new phone.
