Need Help With Tracking Down A Childrens Album That I Listened To As A Kid

Need help identifying a children's song (80's, most likely) involving puns of ocean life?

Yahoo Comunity,

I'm desperately searching for a song from my childhood that I remember only a fraction of.

It's a pun-filled children's song about ocean life. As closely as I can recall, the lyrics contained, "I'll oct-o-push my self right to the shore; there's so much there you can explore" certain and "Just for the halibut!" The track was part of a tape cassette album. The lead singer was female. Unfortunately, that's all I can remember. I've already determined that the song isn't Wet Dream or Lobster Never Flounder or the Hawaiian Fish Song (humuhumunukuapua). And I haven't been able to find any other candidates from either Google or the lyric websites and apps.

Fellow children of the 80's, does anyone remember this song?
Please feel free to comment on this post - even years later - if you have any ideas or resource suggestions.

Thanks,
Simon

I need help finding a Nightmare Before Christmas themed baby book!?

The idea is unlikely to be sufficiently popular to make a book like that commercially practical. It's unlikely to be published because it would not be expected to sell well. People who never saw the movie probably think it is some sort of creepy horror film, even though it's actually a goofy kids' movie.

I think your best option would be to make your own book. That material is all copyright protected, so you might need to have permission to download images for making your own book. Maybe you could buy some stickers with that theme, or get the images some way and just glue them to the pages of a blank scrapbook. I'm not a scrapbook artist or fan, and never made one and don't own one, but I've seen scrapbooks made by women that have all sorts of artwork they added to blank pages. I'd consider that approach.

Peace be with you.

EDIT: I would NOT approve of a "baby book" like you're talking about that would be actually creepy in any way, and I don't think your theme idea is actually creepy at all. I think such a book does not quite make sense to be designed with a theme that is totally about teeny little newborns in a way that would really appeal only to a newborn and his or her Mom. I'd think it makes more sense to make it appeal to a slightly older little kid, so when he or she grows up a little, it will be fun to look at the book. I'm only an uncle, not a Dad, so maybe my bias is unreasonable.

I love babies, but they don't care about pictures yet. They just like you to sing to them, hold them, feed them, talk to them, tickle them and things like that. A kid about four or five would get a kick out of seeing pictures of himself or herself, so If I WAS going to make such a scrapbook, I'd probably make it look interesting to a five year-old. That's when the kid will want to look at it.

What is the song the kid is listening to in Michael Jackson's Black and White?

It's a piece of music Michael had worked on previously and kept in his vaults. I *think* I remember reading that the guitarist is Slash, hence the misunderstanding that Slash played guitar on the rest of the song. He did not. He played guitar on Give In To Me, track 10 of the same album (1991's Dangerous).

What are some songs that use children's singing as a component?

After seeing answers here listing Another Brick in the Wall, Dear God, Panic and You Can't Always Get What You Want I'm finding it hard to think of good examples to answer this question! Holy Roman Empire by Transglobal Underground includes a sample of children singing. I haven't been able to find information on the origin of the sample but it sounds like it's from SE Asia. Also The Clash got some kids to record versions of Career Opportunities and Guns of Brixton for their Sandinista album. As always, if I come up with any more songs I'll add them here.

Looking for the title of a children's song about a shark in the bathtub...?

I'd be interested in finding that as well. The album I had that included that song had a lot of Fred Penner songs on it (Sandwhiches, the Cat Came Back, Take me for a ride in my Car etc.). I think it was a Fred Penner and friend album or some sort of compilation album. I haven't been able to track it down yet. But, no, I don't know the name of the song. If I find anything I'll let you know. If you find something out, email me at iamaperson@shaw.ca Blessings, Jared

Did Tupac Shakur have children?

Did Tupac have a Child?
The question has been raised numerous times since his death. Well here, with a HitEmUp exclusive, we're going to break down the facts for you. I know webmasters out there are going to be biting this. So for the webmasters, give credit where it's due, and to the fans, any sites that don't credit are fake and shouldn't be supported.

His Marriage to Keisha

If you listen to Tupac's earlier work, you won't find any mentions of his wanting to have children, however around the time of Me Against the World you can start to notice this desire emerge. At the time he was with Keisha Morris, who he proposed to after a 3 month relationship. In a recent interview with Source magazine Keisha Morris stated that she and Tupac had attempted to have a child. She stated that the amount of weed Tupac smoked may have prevented this. When Tupac was released, with the stress of litigation, being shot and his work load, their relationship deteriorated.

Mentions in Song

There are mentions of a child in tracks as far back as album number 4. If you listen to the intro of Death Around the Corner on the album Me Against The World, you will hear this.

"Child: Why you by the window?, what's wrong daddy?
Mother: I know what's wrong with that crazy .."

Rather odd, but Tupac often mentioned his relatives children has his own.

Also on Me Against the World on So Many Tears he says "Disillusioned lately I been really wantin' babies, so I can see a part of me that wasn't always shady"

There are many mentions in songs that would lead you to believe that Tupac didn't want to have a child. In Smile he raps: "Somebody save me, Lost and crazy, Scared to drop a seed, Hopin' I ain't cursed my babies"

and in Hell 4 a Huster: "no baby mama drama ... why plant seeds in a dirty b*tch waiting to trick me, it's not a life for me."

In the track Cause I Had To Tupac says "pop at me, brand me, shoot, but what the **** can a ***** do? my little boy gotta eat too

Need help on finding out this song!(help?)lyrics included?

I don't known i search but no luck sorry someone will find it.

Which hip hop songs can go into a radio friendly playlist for my kids?

As you can see there are a lot of ways to go with this. One thing that hasn't been mentioned, but many, and I mean, MANY, of the popular songs that were once on radio have a clean version, which you can find simply by adding "clean" in your query. All radios have to comply with FCC regulations and therefore there should be plenty of options for "popular" hip hop. More "underground" hip hop acts, which never received radio play, might not have clean versions. Here's an example of search which provided many "clean hip hop" (YouTube results: http://www.youtube.com/results?s..."clean+version"&aq=f&utm_source=twitter&utm_medium=tweepz&utm_campaign=Quora)Mike Rayzman made some good suggestions with Jurassic 5, A Tribe Called Quest, and De La Soul. Anyone from Native Tongues Collective (wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nat...) are great important, quality, and enjoyable artists that focus on positive message hip hop. To build on Mike's list: Jungle Brothers, Queen Latifah, Black Sheep, and more.Debo Olaosebikan makes a great point citing Will Smith, who proudly made his career around not using obscenities.Hope that helps.
