Need New Gaming Pc.help

Do I need a new gaming PC?

What's up guys. I have an Alienware X51 PC, with the specs of an i5-4440 processor, and a Nvidia Geforce GTX 645 1GB graphics card, which is pretty damn good for a lot of games, such as Skyrim, Far Cry 3, etc. But, I recently encountered Battlefield 4. I played a little bit of the first campaign level, and the graphics are great, but the FPS isn't. I played on auto, which is medium basically. It was pretty good but had a little lag and stutter, in certain areas more than others. And I didn't like playing it because every little lag I got made me feel like crap about my PC and it bugged me. I even run it on low and it was okay because it was better but still had a bit of stutter in some areas and really quite noticeable in other places. So, I want a better performance because soon lots of games will have really high requirements to run great, but I can't decide whether to upgrade or buy a new PC. Now, the thing is the x51 is a lot smaller than a lot of PC, meaning it sacrifices the upgrade-availability, but I know for definite you can get the i7-4770 processor, and the GTX 660 for it. I've looked up the specs for them and they seem great, but I wonder well they will do and how long it will take for them to become outdated and I'm requiring more. I wouldn't want to buy a whole new PC, as I'd have to watch out for problems, go through the fuss of redownloading everything I have, as well as I feel bad as my parents got me this for the Christmas that's just been (with a lot of nagging), but I'd be willing to as long as it'd be around £700-850 at the very most and it'd have good specs. And if you think it'd be better to buy a new PC, could someone point me the right way, and for the price range I've noted and with the best possible specs please? Thanks, sorry long question... ._.

I'm new to PC Gaming... Help?

There's no real science to it, just make sure they have connectors that match-up, e.g.
* HDMI on monitor to HDMI on Graphics card
or
* DVI connector on monitor to DVI connector on Graphics card
You can also connect them DVI to DVI via plugging HDMI cables into an HDMI to DVI adaptor, but the connections must be the same at each end (e.g. Using the HDMI to DVI in the DVI connector port at one end, then plugging the end of the HDMI cable into an HDMI port at the other end doesn't work).

VGA connectors = old fashioned tech that doesn't work that great compared to DVI or HDMI, and often goes wrong due to things like bent pins that made the colour go funny.

Monitor response time is important... 2m/s good..... 1m/s better.

You can use a TV as a monitor just like you can with a console, but the response rate apparently isn't anything to write home about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sxvu7qf6...

HD (High Definition) minimum spec to aim for, but 4k UHD (Ultra High Definition) is best.

Aim for a panel with "IPS" (In-Plane Switching) rather than a "TN" panel, as the viewing angle on them is better..... with a TN display the image on the screen looks all screwed-up if you're looking at it slightly off-centre, while with an IPS it's less of an issue.

Best way to pick is just read reviews for them at websites such as Amazon, computer magazines + YouTube channels such as "Linus Tech Tips" + "Lon.tv".

Processors.... Intel i5 + i7 best mid to high end gaming processors, AMD Ryzen supposed to be high end.... while AMD A8 / A10 good for those on a very tight budget.

Graphics cards.... NVidia GeForce GTX750Ti supposed to be the baseline for true hardcore gaming, But the GTX 1050Ti seems best value for more power before getting into the faster but more expensive 1060/1070/1080 graphics card models.... personally I prefer the ones made under licence by Asus.

Do I need a new GPU for my gaming PC?

I play these games with high settings and those are working fine, the list:
Resident evil 7 120 FPS
Shadow Warrior 2 90 FPS
NBA 2K17 60 FPS (locked anyway)
Far Cry Primal 80 FPS

future games to play: Forza horizon 3, dirt 4, Sniper Ghost Warrior 3

Those are during gaming on Full HD TV. Do I need to buy a new one if I bought a 4K 55" TV? Is it noticeable?

Need help with new gaming pc please! for swtor?

Cute...the links didn't go live until the Answer Question page came up...

In any case...while SWTOR requires higher standards than WoW, since WoW has to keep it's subscription base happy by continuing to run on older hardware, TOR is a new game, so it's requirements can be much higher.

That being said, you want a minimum of a dual core at 2.4GHz. If you go with a quad or hex core, keep it above 2.0 for clock speed.
Make sure you have at least 3Gb of RAM.
Next, you'll need a minimum of 20Gb or so of free space, but having atleast 50-60 would be preferable (so you can "grow" with the game).
For the Graphics, you'll want a card no more than 2-3 generations old (4xxx for ATi/AMD, and 4xx for nVidia). Regardless of the card you end up with, make sure the second number is no lower than a 6 (so, 46xx, or 46x).

Desktop is preferable to laptop, but not (for this game) necessarily "required" (since while most games are not laptop friendly, games like SWTOR, ST:O and WoW try to ensure that the laptop user isn't excluded so as to encourage larger audiences).

Good Luck!

Buying a Gaming PC and need help?

Well, in regards to each game yes the computer could play them at high-highest settings, the only game that would potentially give you hiccups would be Crysis, but let's be honest it doesn't seem coded all that well and gives many computers problems. This machine would probably make you happy with one caveat- for over 1000 dollars you can probably get a machine with a better graphics card. I personally have the HD 5770 and although it is a very good card I would think you could get better for that much money, I would advise looking around and checking out computers from companies that actually specialize in gaming, nothing against HP, but other companies actually specialize in gaming pcs and they aren't priced too badly. Surf around and let us know what else you find. If you need any help PM me or something.

My verdict- it would probably make you happy, but you can get more for the money.

Need Help Building Gaming PC?

It will be plenty enough to play AAA and upcoming games, maybe for the next 2-3 years or so. If you tell me what price you're aiming for, I can help you get better information. However, here's a few things:
(Also, go ahead with buying those parts if you want to, I'm just suggesting things)
- Motherboard choice is good, but I would go with an LGA 1151 socket, just because LGA 2066 is quite overpriced.
- i7-7820X is really quite a bit of overkill, a good i5-6600K or even an i7-6700K will suffice at playing games at 60+ FPS.
- 32GB of RAM is also quite a lot of overkill, especially when you factor in the astronomical prices of RAM right now. 16GB should be plenty. "Should".
- GTX 1080 Ti is purely overpriced. Seriously. A 1070 (no Ti included) should definitely be able to play any game at 120+ FPS. And save you about 400 dollars in the process.
- H115i is an Ol' Reliable, and it is a good choice. No bad feelings there.
- 2TB of hard drive space is fine. I also have 2TB and it's fine for me too.
SSD is fine, RM850x is dandy....

Just one thing, what is your case?

Need help building a gaming pc!?

You seem to have a good handle on what you need so I'll only address the key items.

If I were you with your budget I'd shop sites such as TigerDirect and Newegg and look for a good price on a MoBo & CPU combo package. I have the top i5 which is the i5-4670k CPU. I got my Mobo/CPU for $330 back in August. So you should be able to find a good package price. I run my computer with just the CPU fan and a case fan in the front pulling air in, and a case fan on the rear pushing air out. I've had no temp issues at all.

NOTE: the 4 in the 4670k indicates it's 4th generation Intel product. There are also gen3 i5-3570k CPU's available but they are not the latest design. The 3rd gen is only a few $$$ cheaper. I'd go with the latest.

GPU - Shop hard for prices on this. It may help if you look at the games you think you'll want to run and what the hardware requirements are to run them properly. You should be able to find a decent GPU with 2GB RAM for a decent price. I'd guess about $200 or so.

LG 24X Optical drives are about $20 at TigerDirect.

Case - you can do anything that fits your budget here. The only recommend I'd have is try to find one within your budget that has audio jacks on the front in addition to USB ports.

Monitor - Again your budget dictates. Look into the difference between 16/10 and 16/9 aspect ratio. I have both. I like the 16/10 best but they are about $100 more than a 16/9.

HD - Consider a SSD. I bought a 240 GB for $130. They are faster than a rotating HD but again budget dictates. NOTE: If you purchase an SSD they DO NOT require defragging. In fact defragging will eventually degrade the performance of a SSD. Keep that in mind!

Power Supply - go for 600W. They are minimally more costly than a 400.

Those are my thoughts.

All you need is a screwdriver and common sense to build one.

Do you need a case for a gaming PC?

when it comes to a PC case, you have to focus one three key things,Airflow good? Will it be quiet? Can it hold all my hard drives and crapgenerally airflow and quiet do not occur at the same time, mostly because if theres lots of open spaces for air to flow through fans, you hear the fans.having plenty of space for HDD SSD SSHD and RAID set ups can be a factor as well as what size case, ATX, MINI or Micro ATX cases. some cases wont contain a large form factor motherboard.after all the other peripherals are done and sorted then you can focus on appearance and aesthetics.i personally recently replaiced a goppy orange RAIDMAX ninja 2 case, with a BitFenix Enso case.the Bitfenix enso has got some bad rep from reviewers claiming that it had horrible airflow, making the cpu and internals heat up quite a bit, however from my own experience i’d say this is bunk, theres 5 different air intakes in the front which provide plenty of air flow unless you have the case laying on a thick carpet surface. the case also has some Asus Aura Sync tech onboard, the front LED’s have some pre programed colors and designs built into the case, which can be connected to Bitfenix’s alchemy 3.0 LED strips inside the case.as a result. i have colors splayed out on my wall.but its a lot of extra i dont really need.
