Need Some Advice For Army Physical Training

Hows life in the army basic training?

BCT is easy. Just do what you're told and everything will be OK. You WONT "fail" basic training. Out of our company of 200, only 5 didn't graduate with us. 4 got recycled to the next company because of failing either the pt test or qualifying on the range and one got scared on the first week and went AWOL. The 4 that got recycled, went to the next company and graduated a week or two after we did. No big deal. I went to basic and Ft. Benning. We acted up and ended up being in Red Phase the entire cycle (FUN FUN FUN!!) and here was our schedule:
0430-Wake up
0500-PT
0600-Personal Hygiene
0630-Morning Chow
0700-1200-Morning Training Begins
1200-1201(lol)-Lunch Chow
1201-1730-afternoon training
1800-Evening Chow
1815-2100-Drill Sergeant time (just more training)
2100 -2130- was SUPPOSED to be personal time (for writing letters, doing laundry, etc) but since we acted up, it was just more drill sergeant time.
2130-lights out

then do it all over again
it gets fun after a couple of weeks
good luck

Army physical fitness test 10 pts?

Army pt: easy. Drop out rate: my platoon had 60 graduated with 57. Basic isnt as hard as people think. The thing that sucked is i missed real food and snacks smh haha but yeah the people above me are right though about the pt scores and all that if you can do 35 pushups and like 42 sit ups your and run a 16:36 2 mile you should be good. But keep in mind that is the minimum, aim to get 300 on your pt test. Before you join the you have to take a little 1-1-1 for the army, its like 10 pushups and 13 sit ups and a 8:30 1 mile.

I leave today for Army Basic Training? Any Tips?

Just be strong and don't take anything personal. They just trying to build you strong thats all. Just do what you are told and give it your all.

Tips on Army Physical Fitness Test?

Start preparing for the test as early as possible, like, what i did was max out on my push ups and situps every night, but i never really did any type of running training, i just did what they gave us at basic. During the test, when you do your pushups, and when you flex your back to take a "break" take a big breath in, it makes it a little better, and made me able to push out those few more pushups i needed. With situps, breathe in on the way down, and out on the way up, it really really helps with that. With the 2 mile run, have someone pace you that you know won't fall out or go too slow, I had a pacer and ran 1 minute under the time i needed to pass! :D

Also, drink a lot of water the night before the test, this will keep you hydrated throughout the test!

Any advice for pre-military training/workouts?

Ya, sure. I guess you want to join the force. Nice to know :)So basically, you'll really need a good work out to cope up with the military training. Hence you'll not face difficulties afterwards. You should practice running long distances, for your stamina. Start with 1 km run and 1 km walk after running. Then increase the distance as you feel you can do it easily. Maintain your breathing. Run in a rythm.Swimming. You should practice swimming too. Dosent mean that you will cuddle inside the water. You have to strictly practice laps in water. Cross the whole pool and increase in day by day. You can do it alternate days or every two days. Trust me, it will help you a lot with your power and stamina.Gymming. See, particularly forces don't take buffed guys. They only require people who are flexible and have good power and stamina. So never do excessive gyming.Simple cardio workouts will work.Diet. No need to specially worry about diets. Only make sure that you don't consume any harmful things ( alcohol , smoking ), and also don't eat fatty foods. If you follow it, you'll surely be on your way towards the military forcesAll the best. :)

How many pushups are needed to go into basic training?

There are no requirements like this to start basic training. You will get all the physical training you need while in basic so you meet the requirements at the end of basic. If you don't meet those, you will be held back until you do.
