Need Some Comicbook Help

I need help understanding some comic book lingo?

1A and #1B just refers to a comic that has alternate covers. The interior of the book is the same. Often they are printed in the same quantity, like recent Hulk books that come with variant covers featuring Red or Green Hulk. Sometimes these alternate covers are done in much smaller quantities, like when Marvel picked one comic a month and made it a Marvel Zombie themed variation.

Comic are occasionally reprinted when demand is higher for a series is higher than originally anticipated, like when Marvel Zombies first came out. It had a low print run when it started as it was just a mini-series and kind of done as a joke, but went back to press as word of mouth made it a hit. Usually these second (and sometimes 3rd, 4th & 5th) printings sport new cover art to differentiate them, but again the interiors are identical. The first printings are the only ones that have any value for collectors, but they're all good readin'!

Well this be okay to use for my comic book?

If the term 'Metahuman' is trademarked, you'll need DC's permission to use it, especially if you plan to make a substantial profit with your book. If it isn't trademarked, then the name can be used--IF your characters are not too similar to theirs. If your book is just for personal use for you and a few friends, I wouldn't sweat it too much. But, again, if you're looking to make a profit, you'll either have to get permission or face the possibility of being sued for copyright infringement.

Comic book question.?

I have been working on my first comic book for the last 8 months. Does anyone know a publisher or someone in the industry that could take a look at my work who wont steal my ideas.

I’m writing a comic book set in a fantasy world. I need help finding inspiration and references for the clothes the people should wear. It should be a mix between medieval style and apocalyptic style. Does anyone have something that fits this style?

Sounds like you need something out of the game Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4 game). Have you heard, seen or play the game? It has some of the best clothes design I had seen.horizon zero dawn clothingThe clothing reminds me of the Native America design (with feathers and all) and at the same time, had metallic parts for protection and shielding (cannot be helped since the monsters in that games are machines).

Would you help in creating a comic book universe?

It's intriguing. I would like to get paid, of course. If you need someone let me know.UPDATE: I wanted to expand on my answer because Michelle Wallace made some interesting points. She said, and I quote:The people in the "how much would I get paid" category are the ones who place a monetary value on their ideas. That means they intend to either use said ideas for something else or they think they have something much more productive/meaningful to work on. These will generally be people who already do work in the creative field or are already time crunched with something else.I am not "time crunched by something else." I actually work for a living at a job I don't want to do for money that barely keeps my car's gas tank full. I can't just leave that, as much as I want to, because it is my source of income. If I were to get into comics full time, there would have to be some "monetary value [placed] on [my] ideas" as creating a comic book would become my full time job at that point. OP doesn't say if he has any money or a backer, so right now, it's an up-in-air proposition at best.I would also say, if you think your work is good enough, don't sell yourself short. Work for money, be a professional. Amateurs make it harder for pros, because if you give everything away for free, the people that distribute your stuff are going to expect not to have to pay you. Harlan Ellison says it better then me: Take his advice. Please remember, I am no where near Harlan's level. If we were in New York, he'd be on the top of the Empire State Building and I'd be in the parking garage below street level. But if I work on something, please pay me.

How do you get a job at a comic book store?

THese days, comic book stores are mostly independent family owned businesses. Besides just flat out asking if they need a hand, sometimes you gotta be a regular customer that comes in often, makes good conversation and show them you really know your stuff. As I had stated earlier, comic book stores are independently owned so the owner, and their friends and family get first dibs at employmlent. Just be a regular at a store, become friends with the owner and you never know what may happen! Good luck!

Need help finding value (if any) of uncut comic book sheet.?

Truthfully this will be a difficult thing to appraise. Normally you can find the value of comic books in the price guide. A specialty item like this would not be listed.

I have been a comic book collector and amateur dealer for 20+ years, and I do not know of any definitive guide for this type of item.

If you are looking to sell the item, put it on eBay without a reserve. If you are not interested in selling the item try taking it to a reputable comics dealer (make sure it is a reputable dealer) and ask for an appraisal. He may charge you a small fee.
