Friendship bracelents are really popular right now. You could do beadwork or macrame with beads or what you choose. When I was in high school one thing that my sister and I did: we cut pictures from old greeting cards, (sometimes we burned the edges), then we bought wood, stained it, glued the picture to the wood and put shellac on it and sold several. I also used to make and sell jewelry when I was in high school. That always sold well. Also, if you know how to sew and you don't mind doing mending, there are always people out there who would love to find people to sew buttons and mend things, because it's just too tedious for them or they don't know how. Do you know how much alterations shops charge for mending? One place where I went to high school, the local Youth Services Bureau had a sort of employment referral program for teens. Teens who were registered gave information on what kind of work they were willing to do. People would call in looking for someone and we (yes I volunteered for this also) would look through the files and find someone to take care of the job. It was really cool! Sometimes people called with longterm part time jobs, most of the people called regularly with things like chores: yardwork, mending, raking, shoveling snow, painting, babysitting, cleaning, etc. Raking leaves is also a great business where you can charge like $25 a yard, provided you live somewhere where you have a fair amount of trees with falling leaves. Homemade rag dolls would be a really cute idea and I bet those would sell, just because it would be so retro & I haven't really seen much of anyone doing a lot of that recently.

This completely depends on your goal or intention for sending business ideas to a new start-up. If you are looking to join that Start-up as a co-founder then i would suggest you to prepare yourself accordingly. Apart from Ideas, Start-up need many other things like Marketers, Developers, Funds etc. Be very much clear about yourself, what you want to do instead of going blank and see what that start-up has to offer you. It doesn't mean that you don't listen to next person what he has for you but your determination should be in your mind, if not in conversation. If you are looking to join any startup then this is really a good opportunity to be a part of it and show them how you can be of worth to their start-up. However if you are just doing it cause you found that their start-up can do better going forward by working on the suggestions and ideas you gave them then don't demand anything and keep a close touch with that start-up and see how they are implementing or executing those ideas, you gave them. If you feel or see that they are not doing the way you thought then stop by them and direct them. Tell them how they can execute or implement your ideas correctly in their start-up. If that new Start-up is expecting more help then just an idea then go ahead tell them that it would chargeable, as you are going to put your time in it. However its important that you understand them and their requirement instead of jumping off the topic and ask for monetary benefit. Cause you never know what they are thinking about you or your idea. Many times, if somebody gives me any suggestion or idea about my business or start up or something like that i normally listen them and try to understand it properly. If the idea is not of any worth to me, still i would give a treat to the person who shared his thoughts, his idea with me cause that shows that what he thinks about my start-up. At least he/she is bothered about my business or the way i am doing business.But as you have mentioned that they have called you a cup of coffee, it seems they want to discuss more with you about your idea. Probably they might be thinking to associate you with their startup.

My best adavice to you would be to research everything. I am a stay at home mom now as well, only because I did my research. I started my business in November and quit my fulltime job in April. Yes it cost you to start up but you make all that back in 2 parties. Join the PPA (Professional Photographers of America), and your local Photographers Guild. The contacts you will make and the help you will get is great. Photographers are generally unwilling to share there experiences in the business however in my experience, members want everyone to succeed and are happy to share there knowledge. Most larger Guilds also have regular speakers (top photographers and marketing specialist etc.). It was the best move I ever made regarding my studio.
