No sound on laptop speaker after using HDMI cable?

I have dell m1330 laptop. I used it with HDMI cable to hook it up to my TV. Sound and picture on the TV are perfect. But when I removed the HDMI cable from my laptop I lost the sound on my laptop speakers. If I use my laptop with headphone or external speaker, they work fine. I tried everything but cannot get the sound to work. Any suggestions? The laptop is running Win XP. Thanks!

Tv not playing sound through HDMI from laptop?

so ive had this problem before and i somehow fixed it, but i dont remember what i did. I want to watch something from my laptop on my tv using an HDMI cable to connect it. for what ever reason it wont play the sound on my tv, only through my laptop, there is picture on my tv but no sound. so its like really quiet and crappy quality sound. ive checked to make sure my tv sound is set to default on my laptop, it tells me that there is no tv plugged in even though im looking at my tv screen and see what my laptop is displaying, someone said that it had to do with the tv and laptop "shaking hands" the right way. meaning you had to plug it in and turn the devices on in a certain order. i tried that once and it worked. well i eventually unplugged my laptop from my tv and now i dont remember the order....if you know please help! again if your going to tell me to make sure my computer is set to tv, its saying there is no tv plugged in, even though it is plugged in, and yes it is fully plugged in, if i pushed any harder on the HDMI plug id break it.

Are there any solutions to the "USB Devices Disabled" problem on Macs?

To determine if Mac OS detects your USB device, you need to open System Information on your computer to see if your USB device is listed under the appropriate heading or is listed with an error (for example, "Device has not been configured"). Examples of appropriate headings for a USB video adapter include "USB without the driver installed" or "Graphics and Displays". The USB device is displayed inSystem Information, under the name of the chipset. You can find the name of the chipset by navigating to https://www.startech.com/Support, searching for the product ID, and clicking the Technical Specificationstab. To open System Information, complete the following:In the top-left of the screen, click the Apple icon.Click About This Mac > More Info > System Report. If you install a new USB device and Mac OS does not detect it, you can complete the following tests to identify the issue:Open System Information and disconnect the USB device from your computer. Wait a few minutes, and clickFile > Refresh Information. Reconnect the USB device. You should see a device disappear from System Information when you remove the USB device, and it should appear again when you reconnect it.Connect the USB device to another USB port.Connect the USB device to another computer.Update the USB device drivers.Download USB debug kits from Hardware and DriversSome other steps to try:Make sure you have iTunes and Apple Mobile Device Support Installed.1. Go to Device Manager2. Locate your Apple device (mine was under Portable Devices. It's very possible it's somewhere else for you.)3. Right click it and select "Update Device Driver."4. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Devices\Support\Drivers and select that folder5. Hit next. The driver should install and you'll see "Apple Mobile Device USB Driver" under the "Universal Serial Device USB Driver" section in Device Manager.I hope I was able to help anybody who is still having this issue. Toshiba video player stops working when hdmi is plugged in?

So im trying to figure out why this is happening and am stumped, its a toshiba satellite, fairly new bought it new with Windows 8 already installed.. The video player works fine on the laptop, but i want to run it through a movie projector, now the projector has a dvi input and no hdmi, so i have an hdmi to dvi wire, as soon as i plug the hdmi into my laptop the movie glitches out and and stops playing, i get 6-7sec of skipping audio from my laptop speakers then it all fails.. If i unplug the hdmi then the movie runs fine

Other then the movie the laptop works fine plugged inti the projector with hdmi to dvi, netflix movies show up great, however i no longer have sound when watching netflix through this connection, thats jusg cuz dvi doesnt carry sound though

Why can my HP desktop play video through HDMI cable, but no sound?

It's not the cable, works for my ps3 to my t.v. and from my laptop to t.v. but when using it from the HP desktop to t.v. all i get is video, the sound still plays trough the computer speakers and it's frustrating! i spoke to a tech about this and they said something about a SPID cable, not sure how locate it, i tried and actually took pictures of the inside of my computer for the "HP tech" and he couldn't even find it. My desktop is a HP Pravilion Slimline running AMD 2, and Nvidia.

Also; when hooking HDMI cable to PC, when i go into (play back devices), No HDMI services show, the only thing that shows is (Realtek high definition audio) even when show disabled devices and disconnected devices is selected.

Any idea whats going on here? and any fix? thanks

What does it mean when your computer displays a "VGA No Signal" message?

It means that the monitor is working but does not see the computer is turned on. The message means your monitor is working okay but is not getting a signal from your computer. The best thing to do is make sure your computer is powering on. Look on the back of your computer and see if you more then one video port on the back. They will look like the blue one or the white one. See if you have 2 of the blue or 2 of the white. If you do then move your monitor cord to other video port and see if it works or not.If that is not the problem then there is something wrong with your computer is not turning on or you have a problem that you are getting any video from your computer.

Asus laptop has no sound?

Computer Specs: ASUS G51Jx - Core i7 1.6 GHz - 15.6″ - 6 GB Ram - 500 GB HDD - GeForce GTX360

Situation: Last weekend, I wanted to watch a movie on my HD-TV. So I hooked up my laptop via HDMI to my TV, and I wanted the sound to come through my 5.1 surround. So I plugged in my Audio-Out to my sony surround system. But by default, the sound-out goes through the HDMI (to the TV). So to combat this, I went to the sound manager and disabled the HDMI sound-out and enabled the Realtek audio-output device. Hooray, movie worked great! The following morning, I unplugged the HDMI and audio-line. But the sound from the laptop has magically vanished. I tried enabling onboard sound, and disabling the output device (and HDMI said disconnected, so I disabled that also). Still no sound. If I plug in headphones or HDMI, sound comes back... but there is no sound through the laptop speakers at any time and I'm not sure why. I have tried un-installing and re-installing all the sound drivers, but to no avail.

If anyone has any suggestions on how I might be able to fix my laptop's sound, it would be greatly appreciated!

Does anyone have a solution?
